  1. I figured this forum moves faster and more people post here so id get more information. What of sub assembly as well?

Lol it figures there's a mirror topic in addon affairs. It's moving fast enough over there. So just delete this one I guess. My apologies.

  2. I'm sure everyones talking about it, but id like a dedicated thread tracking mod compatibility. So who has ventured forth? I'm at work so I can't check for myself.

Anyone know how these mods fared? Also just post any mod. If the mod works/doesn't for .21 let us know.

  3. Make yourself a crane via kerbal attachment system. Land that on the Mun then make a tug. Simply break down your modules into smaller units and load them onto the space tug as best your can. If you can imagine a revolving six shooter. That's how I pack my cylinder modules into my tug using that 6x symmetry. Simply fly it from kerbin, land on the mun, decouple the modules so they fall on the ground, ditch the tug. And assemble with your crane. That's how i do it anyway. Also I don't use landing legs. I just sit each module right on the ground. The cylinders get four feet to keep them right side up and that's it. Makes lining up docking ports easier imo

  4. MotoKid your photos look wonderful what camera and telescope do you use? Once I get my 60D I will try to use my telescope too.

Its a Canon EOS Rebel. Its an entry level DSLR. And the Telescope is a CPC1100... not so entry level. I had a bad case of aperture fever, but it was worth it. I haven't even scratched the surface of this hobby. If you can id recommend getting a DSLR with a modified IR Cut-Off filter. ONLY if you plan on using it strictly for astrophotography

Here is a Directory of really cool mars Photos that i helped with for an engineering class in 2006-2007, These two were my group, but most of the rest of them are pretty neat as well. They were taken with the Themis Camera, on Mars Global Surveyor.

THAT is really something else Nexus how exactly did you obtain these pictures? You said it was part of an engineering class. Did you guys actually have control over MGS and where it took the pics? Or did you stitch them together? Either way man really good stuff.

  5. Theoretically anything you could possibly imagine is possible. Hell id bet that out there somewhere...anywhere. There is a planet named Kerbin with little green people that live underground and thrive off of photosynthesis. It's all possible. I like to think of planet creation like this.

You take a vat the size of a skyscraper. Fill it with six sided dice. Now tip the vat over and count 'em up. There's one planet. Fill it, do it again. You got another.

  6. Ive made a standard rover/skycrane setup. The thing likes to pitch over at about 50 meters after takeoff during testing. That's with ASAS/SAS on. Without it gets up to about 500 meters then slowly starts to list. But if I try to correct it the controls are all backwards and it immediately rolls over. CoM/CoT are perfect. I control it from the cranes pod and it still rolls. Now with the rover detached the crane works fine. So idk if the rover torque is somehow interfering? Because even though im controlling another pod I can still move the rover wheels. any tips?

  7. I've been making big, ugly rockets for the longest time. I'm tired of sending up suspension bridges so I started wrapping my payloads with fairings and nosecones. I'm sure that hurts me, but damn I love the way a realistic rocket looks. That and decoupling the fairings once your in orbit to see your craft in its glory is really cool. Now id rather avoid FAR , but how much d/v would that mod save me if I used it?

  8. This is the ageold excuse. There IS a prompt. First of all you have to press escape to even get a menu up, you don't just accidentally click end flight while trying to click your ship in orbit. After pressing escape you have to press end flight and THEN you get a End flight/cancel prompt saying End flight at the top and 'are you sure you want to end this flight?'.

And I too stay up into the wee hours of night, and beyond. When I first bought the game, after playing the demo from 8pm to midnight, I played two days straight. Within a week of owning the game I had pulled 3 allnighters. As a fresh newbie, having just bought the game, I pulled 3 allnighters in a week and never once ended a flight I didn't intend to end. And I still haven't.

How many prompts do you need before you're happy?

    End flight

Are you sure you want to end this flight?

Are you really sure you want to end this flight? It will remove the current flight.

Are you sure you want to remove the current flight? Removing it means it will not be saved.

Are you sure you don't want to save the current flight? Not saving means you have to launch it again if you do want it.

Click End Flight if you want to end this flight, removing it permanently and not saving it.

And then put up 10 buttons where only one says Yes End Flight and 9 say Don't End Flight, all in different colours and randomized locations.

    THEN would you be happy?

No, then you'd cry it's too complicated and you want to end flight quickly.

So really, how many prompts? Two? Three?

    Are you sure?

    Really really sure?

I don't believe you... honestly sure?

And that's all I have to say about the end flight debate.

How many prompts do I want? Well one would've been nice. Idk we must be playing different games because if I hit escape then end flight the flight ENDS with zero warning.

O and for the future there Johnno. You came on a little strong...
