[1.8 - 1.12] KSPCommunityFixes - Bugfixes and QoL tweaks
TBryson2 replied to Gotmachine's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
Yea, I figured I’ll try that route first. It’s not all that critical, but hey, if someone took the time to implement it, it might be nice to know! Thanks for the tip! And yes! I found what I was looking for this way! TB2 -
[1.8 - 1.12] KSPCommunityFixes - Bugfixes and QoL tweaks
TBryson2 replied to Gotmachine's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
Thank you for the reply. I wasn’t aware that this mod worked in that fashion. I assumed, (yes, I know), these were options this mod added to the PAW itself. I saw the term “PAW” elsewhere but wasn’t sure exactly what it referenced to . Thanks for educating me! Hmmm. Well that does make life a bit more difficult. Time doing research, or experimenting (when I could be flying) just to find how one “command” works. And not knowing where to look. Oh well. Again, thanks for the reply! TB2 -
[1.8 - 1.12] KSPCommunityFixes - Bugfixes and QoL tweaks
TBryson2 replied to Gotmachine's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
Hopefully I'm posting this in the correct forum. If not, could someone please redirect me? I believe this is the mod that adds options to the part's "info" (right click on part)? If so, where do I find information on what the different buttons (options) do? I've looked through all of the pages of this thread and no mention of any "instructions" or manual to be found. Some of the buttons are self-explanatory, but others I haven't a clue what they are for, when to use them, what benefit would they be to my flight(s)... "require complete", "Remove from symmetry", "same vessel interaction", and several other options. (Someday I'll figure out how to add images to my posts) Thanks! TB2 -
[1.12] KSP-RO - Realism Overhaul [16 May 2022]
TBryson2 replied to Theysen's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
Please forgive me if this has been addressed, I DID search for it, but couldn't find it. I've been a long time "player?" of KSP but have been away from it for a long time and attempting to get back into it. I'm running the latest KSP (1.12.5.3190) and DID follow the installation instructions to the letter. Using CKAN I installed the Realistic Progression One (RP-1) Express Install. which installed a BUNCH of stuff! The issue I'm having is after installing RO-1, (or even just RO) ALL of the stock space craft in my inventory have "locked or invalid parts". What is the work around for this issue? I had the same issue running the previous version of KSP, but I did not install RP-1, only RO. If there are any log files or images I need to attach, please let me know which ones and I'll get right on it. Thanks! TB2 UPDATE, I did read one post that the stock craft are no longer available. That kind of sucks, but I'll play around with this and see if I want to keep it or not.- 2,214 replies

Thanks for the feedback, stagerecovery is what I was looking for. TB2
-
Thanks all for the informative feedback! I was wondering why my booster rockets were not being recovered even with parachutes. Now I can build even more economical rockets knowing this. TB2
-
Do parts that have fallen into the water add $$ when a craft (flight) is recovered? Obviously they would have parachutes. If not, does it help (or matter) if they have flotation added to them? TB2

Thanks Citizen247! I'll give that a try TB2

MISSION QUESTION 1. YES I know FASA has not been updated, and I'm pretty sure that is what the main issue is, but, 2. Is there a way to edit a mission or contract it so I knows I've completed it? I "completed" the "test Gemini parachute landed at the moon" and it will not register as completed. I cannot deploy the chute because I'm on the ground. If I go up a bit, it will not deploy since I'm in space. I can simply delete the mission, but I sure would like to get the credits I've earned!!! I know of no other way to test the chute on the moon. Mostly curious. Thanks all! TB2

[1.1.2][1-1-2] May 13-2016 EnvironmentalVisualEnhancements
TBryson2 replied to rbray89's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
Ok, thanks. Any feedback is better than none, especially when several are asking the question. Also, we used to be told to simply go into the config file and change to alphamap_A, (I believe). This has changed with the new configuration. So there USED to be a way to increase the cloud coverage. When this first came out, cloud coverage (I'm talking about the view from orbit, and / or map view), was nice! Now there are only a few puffs if any at all. I believe this is what everyone else (including me) is asking about. The cloud coverage at the Launchpad is OK, just the other views are whacked. Thanks again! TB2 -

Why does the Kerbin cloud coverage question seem to be ignored? TB2 -
[1.1.2][1-1-2] May 13-2016 EnvironmentalVisualEnhancements
TBryson2 replied to rbray89's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
I used to see Kerbin covered in clouds! Now I see almost no clouds when orbiting. How do I correct that please? Can I use the EVE menu and if so, how? Thank you, TB2 -
Ok thanks. Looks like the Quick Mod is what I'm looking for. Thanks again

Thank you for your help. I do appreciate it. Following your instructions, 1. I deleted the <YourKSPInstall>\CKAN\downloads folder, ran mklink per your instructions above, got the same failure result. 2. In the command line, I swapped the "link" and "target" (since the help information for mklink stated it to be this way,) and it worked. It now reads "mklink /d <YourKSPInstall>\CKAN\downloads <FolderOutsideYourSSD>" My <YourKSPInstall>\CKAN\downloads folder is now a successful link TO my other hard drives folder. I believe your original instructions had the "link" and "target" swapped.. Thank you for putting me on the right track. TB2
-
I just tried these instructions & get "cannot create a file when that file already exists ". My target and source folders are empty. I am trying to link these two folders so all downloads go to the target drive\folder. Perhaps I'm missing something here? Also, don't intend to hijack this thread, but I don't seem to be the only one with this concern
-
You have my interest, and now I have to research how to "symlink" a folder! Sounds like what I want to do. I'm assuming (yes, I know) that it links the original folder to another folder and files will dump there instead, regardless of what drive it is on. Well, either I'm exhausted or eat up with the dumbass, (I'm usually pretty good about this stuff) I'm having a hard time figuring it out for now. Thanks! TB2

Forgive me if this has been addressed, 1. Is there a way to make the CKAN default directory (or at least where the downloads go) onto a different drive or do they have to be in the KSP directory? I use an SSD for KSP and would like to preserve it as much as possible by moving the downloaded files onto another drive. I try to keep all of my "utilities" on a different drive since they don't need the speed of an SSD. 2. Can I safely delete the downloaded files once they have been installed? I did "clear the cache" which removed the files, but are they supposed to be left alone? 3. Why are some MOD's not listed? (RCS Build Aid, FASA...). Just curious. 4. THANKS for a great utility! TB2

[1.1.2][1-1-2] May 13-2016 EnvironmentalVisualEnhancements
TBryson2 replied to rbray89's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
???? So what did you figure out? I cannot find where to set "Alphamap_A" in the config file. I am looking at "clouds.cfg" in the "atmosphere" directory. Thanks! TB2 -
Several revisions of KSP ago, there was a MOD called "Scene Jumper". This MOD allowed the user to jump from the flight to any other "area" (launchpad, VAB, ...) without having to go through the spaceport first. I cannot find this MOD so I will assume, (yes, I know), it is no longer available. Is there an alternate MOD that will provide the same function? Thanks, TB2
-
Well, I looked for it, but could not find it, HOW do I know what revision KSP I have? When I launch, it says 1.1.1250. I cannot find any reference to this on the forum, or Wiki. I do see references in the forum and Wiki to 1.1.1, and 1.1.2... but not what is actually displayed on KSP when I launch it. Thanks!!! TB2

[1.1] KSP Logitech RGB Control [v1.0.1] [2016-22-04]
TBryson2 replied to Kaeltis's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
Tried it with a Logitech G110, nothing happened. Wasn't sure what to expect, but saw no changes on the keyboard. Oh well, I tried. TB2 -
Perhaps I'm eat up with the dumb-ass or just don't understand. I can get it to work, (vessel continues to rotate even when leaving / returning, but I can't get it to constantly hold "focus" on Kerbin. (Attempting to aim satellite at Kerbin and have it stay aimed). I click on "Relative Rotation" which brings up another menu, then I click on "Kerbin" then "save". It will not always face Kerbin. And why does it say "Select target in map to set as reference"? I caanot select Kerbin as a target. TB2
