Wow, great work Majiir. I sat mesmerised as my scanner flew around Minmus at 1000x drawing lines, revealing the map. I spotted a small place on Minmus where the terrain seems to extend above the Map Overlay. Pic attached with coordinates. Keep up the good work, it's unbelievable how much you have added to the game recently. Cheers

Yeah, you need a spacer made from "we think it's safe" kasbestos. Enjoying the heatshields, very nice. It would be great to see them in more sizes
-
You sir, are a legend. Well done

Thanks sumghai, for uploading the .png textures. It has made a big difference, at least on my computer. I once again did a vanilla install and monitored RAM usage of various flight. Then I added your mod and flew with some of the parts. It only impacted the RAM usage by about ~90MB. That's versus ~400MB with the .tga textures. So thanks for your work
-
Is it possible for you to make a version with the textures as .png files as an alternative? Maybe I'm crazy but it seems to me (on my machine at least) that mods that are using .tga textures seem to utilize more RAM than you would expect them to. I measured a fresh install of KSP with and without this mod. The difference in RAM usage was ~400MB. Maybe it's just my computer or something I did wrong? In any case I still think you have done a great job with this and I will continue to use it. Cheers

This would be great. The parts are to flimsy for most of my projects.

Nice. Trying it out right now

I'm really enjoying using this mod, the new partless system is much better for me because I was always forgetting to put one on my ships. As a side note, I was able to use this with a RemoteTech controlled vessel with no problems, maybe because it also had Mechjeb installed? Anyway, keep up the good work

[0.20] Subassembly Loader - 0.20 Compatibility Patch
scottholio replied to TheUndeadFish's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
Oh cool. I feel very common now though -
Wow, that looks so cool. Maybe you could display current coordinates on there as a sort of compass/gps. Can't wait to try this one out.

[0.20] Subassembly Loader - 0.20 Compatibility Patch

Was the other thread deleted? Or was I not to have noticed that? -
Cool, thanks. I guess that's what I really needed to know, where the ceiling is

Thanks. I suppose the reason I ask is because KSP seems to sit up around 3.5GB when scanning for Kethane with a MapSat Dish also installed (sits around 2.7GB without a MapSat dish). The photo below show the memory usage and the probe has been scanning now for 2 hours so it seems stable enough at this level of memory usage. I should mention that the scanning probe has 6 RemoteTech Dishes, 3 Remotetech Antenna, 12 Kethane Small Detectors and 4 Large Kethane Detectors. So in conclusion I'm wondering whether the Windows Resource Monitor is inaccurate. Well, that was alot of me talking for such a minor point hehe EDIT: Oops, I forgot about the kB to GB conversion. That works out to be a little over 3.34GB, so I must be riding the edge
-
Hi all. I just wanted to ask what program people use to monitor the memory of KSP while its running? Is the stock windows tool (Resource Manager in Windows 8 x64) accurate enough? I think the maximum amount of RAM KSP can use before crashing is ~3.3GB, is this right? Sorry for all the questions Cheers

Sweet. Enjoy your holiday

I really enjoyed your videos, they are clear and to the point. I found them very helpful when I was new to the game (which was recently). Are you still going to continue the series?

scottholio replied to BlackNecro's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
I've also done up a few icons. I'm not really the best photoshop user, but here they are anyway. And here is the zip file. https://www.dropbox.com/s/umuffncll43o4qs/ICONS2.zip EDIT: fixed some file names -
[0.25] PartCatalog 3.0 RC8 (2014-10-08)
scottholio replied to BlackNecro's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
That looks sweet, can't wait. You have done a great job with this mod and already I couldn't be without it. I have a request of a feature. Let me explain by telling you that I like having my Tags in horizontal mode up the top. But I have SubAssembly Loader installed too, so it mostly blocks the config button of PartCatalog. Would it be possible to have the Tags in horizontal mode and the config button where it is in vertical mode, down the bottom left. Maybe even if this was possible by changing a value in the catalog.txt file. I hope this makes sense. Cheers
