Definitely give it a look. It really is a masterpiece -
Spacecraft Friday- The Rushed Edition
Red Dwarf replied to CommanderSpock's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
Woah dang, never thought I'd be featured here, let alone first craft up. Thanks, dude! -
My space program is quickly turning into a very cost-inefficient meat grinder. I'm trying to defeat Slate, the Tylo of the Sarnus system, and hoo boy... it's eaten at least 5 test landers, crew and all. Only one craft has made it back to orbit, on a cough of fuel and no hope for a rendezvous. The drawing board is getting worn out, and I'm running low on ideas and patience. I wish people posted more lander designs, cause what I'm coming up with just ain't working. On the other hand, the Tekto landing craft worked far better than I could have hoped. It took forever to get to the surface, but it was smooth sailing back up to orbit. I have high hopes for my official, non-hyperedited mission to the system.

What Are Your KSP Aspirations?
Red Dwarf replied to ThisUsernameisNotOriginal's topic in KSP1 Discussion
For me, my end game has been at least one station and base on every body in the solar system. I've gone through maybe 8 saves and I've never reached that goal once And, now that I'm playing with Outer Planets, I'm going to be busy for a very long time... -
Fermion 5c- Mostly stock Starclipper inspired shuttle

Thanks for the quote, dude! I'm glad to see they're actually working on that. Does my little heart good -
Fermion 5c- Mostly stock Starclipper inspired shuttle
Red Dwarf replied to Red Dwarf's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
Woah, for real? I want links, man, links! The rocket parts have been probably the weakest part of the game for a while (besides detail on the planets, cough cough), so hearing that they're finally coming back to them is fantastic. -
Fermion 5c- Mostly stock Starclipper inspired shuttle
Red Dwarf replied to Red Dwarf's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
The external tank actually is made of Big Reds. They've just been retextured by Ven's Stock Revamp. I'm thinking I should probably rebuild and rerelease without that installed... -
Finished and released my alternate space shuttle concept, the Fermion, as well as completed construction of a space station. Busy day
-
Finally got my alternate shuttle flying, and finished my space station. On to the moons!
-
So I've spent the past week or so revamping an old shuttle concept I worked on last year. The fruits of my labor is the Fermion 5c, and oh man, am I proud of this one. My dislike of side-mounted STS-style shuttles has been long-standing. I just can't get the hang of em. So, I've focused on alternative, inline shuttle designs. The Starclipper has always been my favorite, and its influence on this design is obvious. The Fermion is easier to fly, simpler, and more capable than side-mounted shuttles. Less complexity, less hassle. Its simplicity also makes it flexible: I'm working on Munar and interplanetary mission components to be launched by the Fermion. The future is looking busy. I'm not quite finished with it yet, but when I am, I do plan on making a designated thread, yeah. Be patient!

Spent some more time working on my old rocket plane, the Fermion. It's part of my ongoing vendetta against side-mounted shuttle orbiters, and it performs better than I could have hoped. Right now I'm throwing a little station together to put it through its paces, and then I'm gonna integrate it into my career fleet.

totm june 2018 Work-in-Progress [WIP] Design Thread
Red Dwarf replied to GusTurbo's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
Impressive! What's the business end of that thing look like? You using Skippers on the first stage? I can't think of any appropriate engines to cluster like that which would give enough thrust. -

Red Dwarf replied to GusTurbo's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
Been working on a Starclipper replica, the Fermion 5. Still got a lot of work to do on it, so I've been building a station to work out the bugs in the design. -

Yep, I'm back! I'll be looking through all the new entries soon, so be patient with me for just a bit longer. -
Spaceplane to Eve in 1.0.5
Red Dwarf replied to LordKael's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
ya got pictures? We can't really do much for ya without em -
I'm back! Winter break is upon us, and at last I can return to build new aircraft! While I was at school, I sketched out some designs from one of my favorite movies... hell, one of my favorite single pieces of fiction, Miyazaki's Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind. I love the series for a lot of reasons, and one of them is the aircraft. Such unconventional, instantly recognizable designs. They're almost characters in their own right. I've worked on a few designs from Nausicaa in the past, most notably a recreation of the Corvette from waaay back in the souposphere. I just barely got it to fly, but this was before the Mark 3 parts were even introduced, and I never finished that build to my satisfaction. However, the new parts that were introduced in 1.0.5 suddenly made it possible to attempt the build again. After I made one, I couldn't stop myself from making more. So, without further ado... Nausicaa's Glider (The Mehve) This one's teeny tiny, but it was fun to work on and tons of fun to fly! I might come back and do more work on this, cause I'm not all that satisfied with how it flies right now, but that's a project for another time. KerbalX Download The Corvette This is the first thing I built when I got home from school, and I was shocked at how simple it was to put together. I didn't even have to go through my usual design process (of six or seven redesigns). I just slapped wings on the fuselage, and it just worked, no tinkering required. When I did do some tinkering, it started flying better than I could have hoped. KerbalX Download The Bumblecrow Now this is the one I never expected to work. It's probably the largest aircraft I've worked on, and I think you'll be amazed at how it flies. Despite it's bizarre design, it actually can fly. Not very well, granted, but a lot better than you'd expect. It's not really a mover, and it sure as hell ain't a looker. It's more of an... exister. It works in defiance of all expectations. KerbalX Download I might try working on some other designs later, but those were the big ones. Have fun with em, folks!

Those ain't intakes! They're Juno engines, for flyback. You can see them working in the last pictures -
[1.2.2] Stock Part Revamp, Update 1.9.6. Released Source Files!
Red Dwarf replied to Ven's topic in KSP1 Mod Development
So is there a changelog, or an imgur album of all the new changes and parts from the latest update? I've been looking everywhere and I can't seem to find it. -
[1.0.5] Fun with Goliath Engines
Red Dwarf replied to Ojimak's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
Aww man, is that how many Goliaths it took to get that craft off the ground? Welp, there go my plans for a flying aircraft carrier... -
Does it seem like there's been a lot of necro'd posts lately? Two of my old threads were brought back from the grave, and I've seen more than ten that were more than 3 years old. I wonder what's going on with that...

Deep Diver Challenge: 1.0.5 Edition!
Red Dwarf replied to Red Dwarf's topic in KSP1 Challenges & Mission ideas
Guys, just a heads up, I'm in the middle of an extended finals maelstrom, and it probably won't be over till Christmas break. I just can't afford to spend a lot of time on the forums right now, so for now this thread is not going to be continuously updated. Y'all can keep submitting your entries, but keep in mind you probably won't end up on the scoreboard till mid to late December. Thank you so much for all your submissions, and please be patient with me until the semester is over. I'll get to it eventually, I promise. You guys rock! -
Dang, this thread still hasn't died yet? I thought the mods locked this one... Look guys, we go through this rigmarole every patch, and nobody says anything new. We shout at each other, we get nowhere, and eventually the people who were salty get used to the new status quo and the issue becomes moot. Let's let this one fade into obscurity, like all the other threads like this.
