How far you can get a kerbal with 10 parts?
TimMartland replied to Jaleco's topic in KSP1 Challenges & Mission ideas
Meh! Why do it with 10 parts when you can do it with 10,000? -

Looks like a whale shark! Also, the big open jaw-like hangar reminds me of that James Bond movie with the ship that catches other ships -
Looking back at it, your right! How weird, I didn't notice the similarities at first.

PorkWorks dev thread [Habitat Pack] [SpaceplanePlus]
TimMartland replied to Porkjet's topic in KSP1 Mod Development
You should make a bacon-powered jet engine! On a more serious note, more truss-like parts would be cool as the Ar tank looks awesome! -
If your playing hardcore, then escape towers are invaluable! If you use F5 and reload as a crutch however there pretty pointless. But they look cool!

Porkjet Productions Parts Pack? -
Dude, its just a button! I'm pretty OCD about stuff too, and due to that I'm horribly strictly stockalike and opposed to any warp drive or sci fi stuff, but even I would find it hard to be driven nuts by another option in the menu. What's the real harm in it? I appreciate how people don't want MP due to its extensive development time, but if it was their then I'm sure people wouldn't object to having it around - it dosent inflict any drawbacks to SP

1. The wiki is written surprisingly accurately, I think you will find. The section I referred to us probably te most scoured of all of them and is compiled of all the complete dredgings of what SQUAD releases. Also, they have AT NO POINT said that resources are cancelled in any way. 2. I agree it would be nice to find out what they have done, but given the short amount of time it was seemingly in the pipeline and the speed at which the issue was dropped It seems most probable that nothing truly functional and release worthy came of it 3. The data is innacurate and incomplete. The majority may well go with resources, but that does not make multiplayer any less significant. As I said, resources are coming. But multiplayer is coming sooner! As a side note, looking over this thread it seems 90% of replies say (albeit fairly elaborately)'You got something wrong dude' and a large amount of space is you tackling such criticisms. Your suggestion has 'some' merit, but is kinda flawed and based on several assumptions. Maybe you should try talking a step back, rationalising your point and proposing it again, as at its heart it has a point but its methodology is relatively incorrect,

Dude, resources are simply postponed indefinitely. They are in the list of 'to be added' but are not currently being worked on or planned for the next update. If you do think that resources is cancelled, I invite you to look at KSP wiki, which cites it as a 'Planned Feature' As to the notion of the devs releasing what they had, what they had was small amounts if dysfunctional and incomplete code and a small amount of concept suggestions and designs (Such as the infamous resource flow diagram) which would be all but useless to anyone if released. Resources will get here dude, be patient. Also multiplayer is announced for the next 6 months, which I am super excited about despite the sweeping generalisations and assumptions made by the argument 'X people voted for MP, Y for resources. As X>Y everyone is dying for resources and no one wants MP'

What is the most underrated planet/moon/star?
TimMartland replied to Astronaut's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Pol. I dunno why but I love Pol. No one ever goes to Pol, they always get distracted by Laythe. -
[WIP] Bavarian Aerospace: Tubes! (update9|20|14)
TimMartland replied to onkelsiebdruck's topic in KSP1 Mod Development
Yo dawg! I heard you like tubes, so I put tube-making tubes in your tubes o tube tubes on your tube so you can tube while you tube! -pant- That was hard... -
PorkWorks dev thread [Habitat Pack] [SpaceplanePlus]
TimMartland replied to Porkjet's topic in KSP1 Mod Development
Yeh, that's probably a good idea! Also, do you have any plans about implementing a Gemini-style 2 man capsule? There are some out their, but they all clash with the stock textures. And with inflatables, what about inflatable tanks for bases and stations? Yo dawg, I heard you like spheres. So I put spheres on your sphere so you can sphere while you sphere -
-In hysterical laughter- Man, that's good!

What DON'T we want in KSP?
TimMartland replied to Deathsoul097's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
FTL drives are a sci-fi concept. No one knows if we can and lots of very smart people say we can't KSP is, at its heart, a modernish rocket-science game with parts that are based in what we can feasibly achieve with what we humans possess. Although the game developers have had to sacrifice 100% flawless physics in order to make the game fun and playable without a degree in something, you can't just say 'it dosent completely match up to real life, so screw it lets break the known boundaries of physics!'. If more solar systems are added the devs probably should look into near-future or conceptual technology, but FTL is, for the moment, consigned to science fiction by space program's (If not theoretical physicists) and I strongly believe KSP should not turn itself into a sci-fi game with pseudo-scientific propulsion. I know the supporters of FTL will probably say that KSP contains many such physical improbabilities and is quite far from actual physics, but its like that for GAMEPLAY and is rooted in actual known technology. There, essay over -
Make a wish... and have it horribly corrupted!
TimMartland replied to vexx32's topic in Forum Games!
Granted, but its a psychopathic murderer and it eats your family. I wish for bacon baths! -
I really don't think your right about the first point. Modpack authors are simply attempting to help the community by providing an easy way to get all the best mods (usually of a specific type E.G stockalike, sci-fi, colonisation) and sometimes providing an impromptu place where ideas can be merged, linked or simply debloated. However, your point about it not just being a 'modtage' (corny, I know) of successful mods but a group of like minded and simmilar mods is vital to what a modpack should realy be. For instance I would really like to see a stockalike pack of stuff like RLA, KSPX, InflatableHab, SunjumperScience, Starshine and others in a simmilar vein.

Sorry for double-post, but the Orbital Orb is very brittle isn't it? It explodes of you drop or loudly sneeze at it! Also, this mod seems to have gone quiet (too quiet) and I was wondering about release for the new propulsion system as well as plans for 0.23 -
SSTO to Eeloo: Can it be done?
TimMartland replied to Pds314's topic in KSP1 Challenges & Mission ideas
I saw a video of an SSTO flying to laythe, landing, deploying a really big mobile base and returning. It had about 1,000,000,000,000,000 parts!
