i'd say that its all the oddly placed wings. could use the structural panels that have no lift rating -

if ALL things went right and by some wizard magic this was made. what would happen if you rolled? -
A good way to learn to dock is to make a really small ship(1 man command pod, small fuel tank,nuclear engine, and rcs) send two of them up and try and dock them. once you get good at that it gets easier and easier.

I haven't used it at all but I think quantum struts do something like that. -
if you're in orbit if you look at the stars rather than kerbin your framerate will be a bit better
