  1. I'd get them a place in congress somehow so that NASA gets all the funding for rockets that they want. Then we build interplanetary ships and return them to kerbin. We'd probably be like superman on kerbin because of the reduced mass, which would be handy for them.
  2. A perfect ascent is a continuous burn, with no coasting to Apoapsis to circularize. I almost had it but my Radical 2 Rocket only had 3517.8 m/s of delta-v and is designed for suborbital trajectories. I started leading the prograde marker east at about 8 km and by 15 km I was at like 45 degrees. It was beautiful.
  3. I would ask nicely for moar moneys from congress, play KSP IRL, and conquer the universe in 10 years. Who cares about the economy when we have a massive rocket to take us to pluto and back?
  4. For every post on this thread I bet three more people are lurking in it.
  5. I lurk around here everyday, because I have nothing better to do. There are some pretty interesting threads. How much do you lurk around here, and in what sub-forums do you lurk?
  6. I'd have to say europa report. Their faces were just like the kerbals! > But srs, the space squids were cool and the science was awsum.
  7. HarvesteR posted an article on his blog about exactly the same thing. It's not intentional.
  8. I was trying to fly the Kerbal X without mechjeb or any kind of numbers to tell me my delta-v and everything went more-or-less flawlessly (I didn't want to make a round trip anyway...) until I was about to land. The parachute deploys right on time, but the ship isn't stopping! Well, I crashed into duna.
  9. These kinds of threads don't contribute to anything at all. :\
  10. Or even better, ladders so when it makes a sharp turn the kerbals go flying into space.
  11. Tired of the same old X200-16 and Rockomax Poodle rocket configuration to get into orbit? Now, your kerbals can get to orbit in style and more or less comfort. A 100% stock fully capable multipurpose vehicle. With RCS to spare and fuel left over, you could probably even slap on some parachutes and make the whole thing recoverable. Doesn't require kerbal engineer anymore! DOWNLOAD Notes: pressing 2 turns off translation, which is useful when you need fine control going prograde or retrograde. To rendezvous with a ship ahead of you, lower your Periapsis a bit (maybe 3 km) and when you reach a closest approach of around 10 km, raise it for finer control. This takes quite a while, so be patient. The same applies with a ship behind, except you raise your Apoapsis. In future updates: Put the fairing on a diet (it looks too chubby) Improve torque (you need to be constantly adjusting) (╯°□°)╯︵ ââ€Â»Ã¢â€Âââ€Â» Add more documentation, and more things to document. ââ€Â¬Ã¢â€â‚¬Ã¢â€Â¬Ã¯Â»Â¿ ︵ /(.â–¡. \)
  12. Usually you want to attach a decoupler under them, so you can stage them. The fairing blows off when you decouple under it. Besides that, you can attach anything you want, really. Any fuel crossfeed capable part can provide fuel to the rocket, so you could have a rocket on a wing and attach a fuel line to it and it would work.
  13. I can't wait to have Jeb jump out of an exploding rocket and parachute into a tree.
  14. If you're interested in designing ultra-efficient rockets and such, I would learn all the math involved. Not how to do the math but just what it means. There are plugins that can do it for you and they are fairly easy to install. There is an autopilot plugin called MechJeb that calculates that stuff and flies your rocket for you, but I personally recommend Kerbal Engineer Redux. Good luck!
  15. I always name my rockets after some philospoher, astronomer, or greek god. :\
  16. It's bob's secret candy stash. He has to do SOMETHING while sitting around.
  17. What about quantum computing? Maybe they use that.
  18. I think blender uses those nurbs shapes, because while I was derping around with it I saw a whole bunch of things that said "nurbs nurbs nurbs". But don't take it from me, I'm just a nub. If you want to know more about blender, you can go here, and if you want to know how to use it I recommend Blender: Noob to Pro. The best part is, blender is free!
  19. You'd see "There are singles in your area! Find them now!"Pop up in your head every 5 minutes
  20. Why do people on the internet get so agitated about little things? Sometimes I wish I didn't live on the internet.
  21. Blender is pretty much the only free thing you can use for making detailed models easily (well, easier than sketchup). Try reading Blender: Noob to Pro. It really helped me (until I got bored) but it's great for beginners.
