Thanks! No, the video you're talking about inspired me to build these though. They are both reuseable with Kerbal Attachment System. The video maker was TouhouTorpedo, he made and maintains most of the mods used in these craft like the cargo bays, multiwheels, and Mk3 fuselage expansion packs. He has a huge thread on this forum.

Shameless plug! I've been further refining my two SSTOs, and practicing landings... It feels like unless I do it at least once a day it all gets lost. I really need a joystick. The Mk. 44-D WASP Class craft is now capable of lifting over 18 tons into orbit, I have used it to send probes to Kerbol, Eeloo, and "beyond". The Mk. 68-D HORNET Class craft carries a total of 6 passengers and 3 crew. I've sent it out as far as Minmas and back. screenshot114 by [email protected], on Flickr screenshot115 by [email protected], on Flickr screenshot116 by [email protected], on Flickr

Nicely done! I'm gonna try this one out. My grandfather was a Phantom Phixer back in the day.

As long as it is preserved, no problem for me. Eventually it will die off on its own even without human intervention anyways.

I don't think there is enough native oxygen and nitrogen to terraform the entire planet. There is large amounts of nitrogen and oxygen in the soil, but in order to chemically separate them you would need oceans of reactive material, and the left over byproduct would likely STILL be reactive to nitrogen and oxygen, so it would slowly reabsorb the gases over time. Perhaps you could live in underground habitats, or domes. On top of the atmosphere problems the planet has a negligible magnetic field so you have to deal with all sorts of exotic particles and radiation from cosmic sources... Better to just live in hobbit holes under the surface. About 24-36" of soil material would be plenty to stop most radiation exposure. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- On to "what if"... Truly ALIEN life would likely be of no threat to us, you would be more like to catch a virus from a tree than an alien source unless panspermia theory is correct and Mars/Earth life share a common source. Would it be UNETHICAL to transform the entire planet? Assuming there was no effort made to preserve local species, then yes. BUT, Mars is a dead and or dying world. Its not like life there would ever be able to evolve to a complex level.

Looks awesome, I haven't yet been able to build an F22 or F35 since I'm too much of a perfectionist. Do you have a download for your craft? As for the FAR comments... People like to brag about it as if making stuff that can fly in FAR is harder. Its not harder per se, just DIFFERENT. It actually makes some things much easier and require less delta V but also makes some assemblies behave straight up WEIRD and in an unrealistic manner.

There just isn't enough friction! Obviously you need a 500 ton rover to apply more downward pressure on the wheels!

Kerbin Orbital Refueling Station (WIP)
Turd replied to CmdJarvis's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
I like it! Its big, cool looking, and just realistic enough. I'm sorry but I must steal more than a little from this design now... -
I throw my ships around a lot, but never post the same picture twice so here is my Traveller Mk. 3-B class interplanetary ship. Made it to Duna with a nearly 20 ton lander attached to the front and still had almost 4K Delta-V left. It was a pretty bad flight due to my crappy nodes too, probably could have made it with 5K if I had planned the whole trip and executed the capture better. Smaller versions of the Traveller weigh nearly half as much (The crew portion anyways) and with the new "Advanced" drive I'm working on 12K Delta-V on a bare bones model is looking like a very realistic possibility. Been to Eve, Moho, Jool, and Duna so far with various versions but not landed on everything yet.

Nice launch escape system! Is it stock or modded? Mine don't look nearly that clean.

Nice looking... Well everything Drunkrobot! Here is my workhorse, the Mk. 2 Transfer Module. I must have launched about 30 of these in .21 since my SSTOs weren't working at first. I've grown to love them though, so instead of just being a temporary craft I will likely continue to use them from time to time on various missions. They have 2800 m/s of delta-V, carry 4 crew, can operate and stay in orbit indefinitely, and can act as as emergency lifeboat/return vehicle by separating from the drive section and using parachutes to land. The launch vehicle: The orbiter maneuvering for rendezvous: A beauty pass: Coming up to dock with the ADVENTURE, a Mk. 3-B Traveller class interplanetary ship. Successful dock. Across from the Transfer Module, also docked to the ADVENTURE is the KEPLER, a Mk.68-C Hornet class SSTO spaceplane also there for crew transfer. The Mk.2 transfer module was designed as a replacement for this craft when it became incompatible due to game update.

SPACE STATIONS! Post your pictures here
Turd replied to tsunam1's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
Added two modules today, had to make a few design changes for upcoming modules. Tomorrow I will send up a supply ship with some friends so Mr. Roll Fizzlebeef doesn't have to sit all alone in space. -
Its TouhouTorpedo's Mk3 fuselage expansion pack. He also makes a very nice Mk3 cockpit (internal IVA model), a Mk3 crew cabin, the Mk4 fuselage system, the incredible multi-wheels pack... Great stuff.

The newly refurbished and updated for .21 Mk.44-C WASP launching a small payload. The brand new WASP disassembling itself upon reentry... Luckily the pilot survived with some well placed parachutes. Back to the SPH.

A typical "heavy" launch for me. I use this asparagus setup on most all of my launches and it has been 100% reliable. A little bigger than normal launch. Core of a new space station. Putting an Interplanetary drive module up. Another IP drive module. Launching an entire interplanetary ship at once. Looks like the Mk.4 BEAGLE. And what happens when struts snap!

SPACE STATIONS! Post your pictures here
Turd replied to tsunam1's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
There are no lights on it at the moment, the lights will be on ONLY the external docking ports to keep part numbers down. The completed mockup I have built has over 3000 electrical units WITHOUT any ships docked to it like escape vehicles, refuelers, etc. She's not going dark anytime soon. Too many lights "white out" everything anyways. -

My second space station that isn't just several decommissioned ships strapped together, or a Skylab style one-and-done launch. I put up the common module first with one Mr. Roll Fizzlebeef insisting on riding it up, followed immediately afterwards by the massive solar arrays which were put up in one launch due to my lack of patience. 6 more modules to go, then I need to dock a HORNET Mk. 68-D (SSTO spaceplane escape vehicle), and two Mk. 3-A refueling drones. That leaves open ports on the storage module for automated supply deliveries(Mk.2s modules, WASP and HORNET SSTOs), the science module for incoming/outgoing equipment (HORNET and WASP SSTOs), and the the far end of the station for incoming/outgoing crew (HORNETs), craft just stopping by to top off, and of course my fleet of interplanetary TRAVELLER craft. -
Ever since .21 came out I have been unable to fly my spaceplanes leaving me no choice but to day after day build those huge, ungainly, fuel guzzling rockets... Until today. KEPLER, (Hornet Class Mk.68-C) docked at ADVENTURE, (Traveller Class Mk.3-B Interplanetary Spacecraft) for routine crew transfer and resupply.

After 300hrs+ hrs, some stuff I've built ;)
Turd replied to HaRdRiVe81's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
Your Mun base is EXCELLENT. Likewise the space station is spectacular, I always cringe when I see a space station link because most of them I have seen are butt ugly. -
You are entering the vicinity of an area adjacent to a location. The kind of place where there might be a monster, or some kind of weird mirror. These are just examples; it could also be something much better. Prepare to enter: The Scary Door. When I read this for some reason it was all voiced by the guy from the twilight zone.

REQUEST: Duna Lander/ Orbiter with a hitch
Turd replied to Turd's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
Yeah, my test of the "re-useable" portion of my lander didn't go so hot. Apparently an internal strut snapped so one engine drew fuel from the wrong place upsetting the center of mass. I saved the two Kerbals though. No deaths yet in .21! I think they were only on the surface for like 18-20 hours before the new lander arrived. More struts, redundant fuel lines, tougher landing legs... Better than new! -
REQUEST: Duna Lander/ Orbiter with a hitch
Turd replied to Turd's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
Link is now in my sig to what I have uploaded so far anyways... I'm literally going as fast as a can taking screen caps, uploading, finding the correct files, putting them on the spaceport, etc. -
REQUEST: Duna Lander/ Orbiter with a hitch
Turd replied to Turd's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
Here is what I have been messing with, just took it to orbit with Jeb and Bill and docked it to the BEAGLE (Traveller Mk. 4-A). After a quick Mun landing for testing I'll either hitch it or another one to the ADVENTURE (Traveller Mk. 3-, do a quick crew swap with one of the spare transfer modules waiting in orbit and send it on to Duna for a real test.
