  1. That is a pretty nice idea, really. The only issue against using it as a fighter hangar is that i wont be able to use a fighter in 2.5 kilometer distance on this, cause of the fps drops. But I will consider it, thx.
  2. Here are two pictures from the inside of it, sorry for the fuel line in the way, but it is in the way.
  3. There are some adventureous designs here. I always have problems using multiple shipparts docked together. Accelerating sometimes breaks the docking ports or the ASAS rippes the whole structure apart. I'm quite new to this forum but i have one quite large craft myself which would actually be able to travel to other planets but not land on them. It could transport some stuff there like small landeres or sattelites. I always try to design more really spaceship like stuff which can move about and go through the solar system. This is one design: I already posted that here in the forum. It weighs about 200 tons and is powered by 12 atomic engines, but you could strip away the armor and save alot of weight but it looks like a mess inside of it. But one thing just came to my mind. I had ASAS installed on all parts of the multipartship. Does that work against each other ASAS from the other parts or why is it so unstable when activated?
  4. That is a really great design and it flies very stable. Sharp turns are quite difficult but i do not think that this ship is designed to do that. I'm good at lifting heavy stuff into orbit but my planes are always a total desaster. The design seems so simple from the outside but I am absolutely sure that it is not. Either way, a hell of a flying machine you built there.
  5. Hey people, again i have a very large design I want to share. Mjoelnir Typ III Torpedo Battleship: This little beauty weights fully fueled about 480 tons and was shipped to a stable 140km orbit in one piece. With the stage it is about 1680 parts large and, as always, sadly brings down the fps to 1 cause of 4x9 Mainsails. It took me about 1 hour to get it into orbit. It is currently armed with 12 forward torpedos but with some optimization it can be extended to about 24 torpedos which fire quite accurately and can be rearmed through inside docking ports. It is powered by 2 Mainsail engines for a quick boost and 15 atomic engines for constant acceleration. For its size it is quite manouverable because of a large amount of RCS thrusters and a huge amount of RCS-fuel. I call it Mjoelnir cause it looks a bit like a hammer if you look down from above because of the engine section. This ship is the pride of my fleet so far.
  6. This looks totally insane. XD And i was proud on my 1000+ Designs and they had already difficulties to start cause of fps drops. I do not think that i would be able to start that one. @Firerider521: Its a very good start and a very nice and classy design. You will see that the huge part ships open whole new possibilities of designs but also can be very frustrating.
  7. Actually you are absolutely right. Looks like a Union-Class Dropship cause of the external engines.
  8. Since i do not have any mods installed to measure that i had to eyeball this. I think both ships have a Delta-V of about 8-10 m/s in open space which is not too bad considering the size of them and that they are powered only by atomic engines. Both ships are also quite easily to manouver with RCS cause i managed to keep them quite balanced, even the Pillar of Autumn.
  9. Hey people, I've tried myself in different designs now and now I want to share some of that with you. The "Pillar of Autumn": The first one is my simple version of the "Pillar of Autumn"-like space craft. Weight of the ship is about 200 tons and contains about 700 parts, so you need a good pc to actually use it. It has place for four Kerbals, currently only one of the crew is on board. There are only 12 atomic engines on board, but they are absolutely enough to manouver this heavy beast. The "Kugelraumer MK II": This is my masterpiece so far although it is not absolutely round. The "Kugelraumer MkII" was supposed to look like one of the Universe of "Perry Rhodan" but it somewhat differs from that. It consists of about 1000 parts and weights about 400 tons. Together with the staging it reaches 3800 tons. The ship itself is powered by 24 Atomic engines, the thrusters to get it up consist of 36 Mainsail Engines with about 220000 units of fuel. It takes forever to get into orbit because of the framerate, but it works. Both ships can be refueled and send anywhere. The atomic engines are powerful enough to move those ships. It actually takes years to get anywhere and honestly I have not tried yet, but I'm sure with enough fuel supply throug support vessels they can get anywhere. But practically it also would take ages to refuel them because they pack way above 10000 units of fuel each. It is all build with stock parts and no mods used. Hope you enjoy the view!
