  1. As the topic says: Do I need to accept World's First contracts in order to be rewarded for them? The original release notes seem to suggest no.
  2. 'c' to change camera view back from IVA, 'v' to change which Kerbal's view you have in IVA.
  3. It's helpful for me to know when things are getting out of control. Cute effect on crashes too.
  4. That is fantastic! Definitely going to integrate this in my planes. They have such a hard time stopping.
  5. I believe there's an "ultra low graphics" texture pack out there somewhere if you search for it.
  6. If you mate this with one of the intake fuselage parts then it makes perfect sense I guess.
  7. It is pretty annoying the bazillionth time yeah. Especially if it's a scientist doing the removing.
  8. Those are new features available from the start in KSP 1.0. If you really need to clip you can turn on part clipping in the Alt+F12 menu.
  9. I'm thinking the idea is that it needs to be able to rove around yeah.
  10. Wait for your craft to be destroyed and then the window that pops up should give details on whether its overheating vs. a collision.
  11. I think you could do it at once. When you are in suborbital flight that part will complete, then once you circularize that part will complete.
  12. Maybe it helps that I took months off the game before playing when 1.0 released. (Got frustrated when asteroids came out due to a weird physics glitch). Built a plane last night. First time I have EVER built a well functioning plane that works exactly as expected on the first try. For me, the Aero lives up to expectations: it works as I expected it to.
  13. From what I understand, since the physics engine in Unity is not multithreaded a many core processor doesn't help you. In theory then higher speed would improve. At a certain point you can't really make any more improvements though, which is I think Aramchek's point. I just built a computer in the last few weeks with an AMD FX-6300 and it runs the game perfectly at 3.5GHz. Of course, I was using a Core Duo laptop before so anything would have been an improvement.
  14. Put a LES on something, turn on part clipping and put another rotated 180°. That kind of missile?
  15. Yeah it has a space toward the bottom that says "Drag and Drop Subassemblies here." I missed it the first few tries.
  16. "Advanced" button looks like: <<<<< Subassemblies is green button.
  17. I remember that post. I don't think the Courage and Stupid stats did anything at the time, but I always hired Kerbals with max stupidity for "dangerous" missions hehe.
  18. Yeah I think hardcore mode players probably use it, but I haven't for its intended purpose. You should try putting one of them on an empty big orange tank. Was an impressive amount of thrust, at least pre 1.0.
  19. My problem with ascent was the gravity turn. Look into what other people are saying (start early and do it gradual) and see if that helps. There is a debug heat overlay I think. I think it's been delayed.
  20. My suborbital Tour ship is extremely overpowered right now. It can get to orbit and probably do a Mun pass. I need to cut back and make just suborbit hopper. It's providing some interesting challenges and ideas. I would also love to see Tourists return to become astronauts some day! Thank you! That is extremely helpful to know!
  21. I have noticed a lot of wording being tossed around like "broken," "needs to be fixed" and "when they fix it." Particularly with respect to things that could definitely be intended function. (e.g. "Rockets are broken because I can't turn 45° at 10km anymore" or "aero is broken because my 0.90 and pre SSTO doesn't work anymore") I think a BIG part of the problem is that this update was such a major one that things have changed in huge huge ways compared to almost any previous update. There definitely are some assumptions being thrown around with how things are supposed to work. OP's post is a little rant-y perhaps, but yeah there's a lot more use of wording like "broken" and "fix" and a lot less use of wording like "I don't like" or "doesn't feel right."
  22. Turning needs to be a lot more gradual now. Keep your steering vector near or inside the prograde vector.
  23. LOL! That's hilarious! I guess that's what happens when meteors burn up in our atmosphere, but you really cooked it!
  24. Still, I think he has a point. Some sort of modified, lightweight suit would be appropriate on some bodies with an atmosphere and probably preferred (easier to move around) compared to a full-on space suit. Might be a neat addition to KSP I guess.
