  1. Papyrus pls In all seriousness, Arial is the best font. It's so good (almost) everyone in this forum uses it.
  2. I... don't see a problem with using comic sans there 1. It's not overused 2. It's not everywhere 3. You only get to see it when it's opened. Stop font discrimination. It's like racism, only worst.
  3. I'd like to see a planet in a polar orbit. It'll take ridiculous amounts of dV to get there and rather unlikely to occur naturally but hey, it's a game and that's a nice juicy target. Otherwise a planet with 90 degree axial tilt would be great too yeah.
  4. I hope the next challenge is SSTO. I have a bunch of those rotting away in my hangar.
  5. oh yeah **** I forgot the mayfly was long-ranged. haha. giggle I'll be your 0 vote buddy.
  6. From the depths of the 6th page of the rocket builders subforum, I have come with finally, a cargo lifter. C20S4-2 "Supper Guppy" Monarch Download Barely controllable, the Monarch is created out of my unwillingness to compromise between form, function, and my own self-imposed rule of what can and cannot be clipped. The end result, as you can see, is an utterly ridiculous looking plane that works with FAR with a maximum payload of 20 tons to a 75x75 orbit. And yes, before you ask, the cargo detaches from the plane as if it were in a proper cargo bay (minus doors) thanks to the magic of SelectRoot. The action groups have been set up so you can turn the turbojets off in stages, starting from the ones on the sides, the top one, and finally the bottom one. It is advised that you don't start the rockets before reaching 1500 m/s. If you need to shorten the cargo bay for whatever reason, take off the rear I-beam and replace the front one. At this point, some of you may be questioning what's with the "Supper Guppy". As some may have noticed, I attempted to replicate the bloated hull look. Of course, the Super Guppy does not have a massive delta wing trailing behind it, but at least I got the cockpit position right. As for why it's Supper instead of Super, it was a typo that stuck since I thought it was funny. If you feel like you want to use this, do note that an autopilot mod is highly recommended. It's perfectly flyable by hand, yes, but not comfortable at all thanks to the slow nature of the SAS. Once we get a hard lock SAS, flying this will be much easier.

  8. Well rune, nobody can blame you for making SSTOs. I mean, single seater SSTOs are utterly useless but nobody can deny that they are the coolest things to fly and very fun to make. The new shuttle is nice, but I prefer your 7 seater bus :3
  9. no problem, I was just joking. Anyways, while I personally think SSTO fighters are pointless for the most part (I suppose being deployed from space and being able to climb back up is one thing), yours do look quite good. The wing shapes are somewhat on the unique side. Always a good thing.

  11. it's ok I guess. Can be made smaller. Also if it's a space fighter, TWR is the most important thing since in space you can only change directions by using thrust. Therefore, you should make it as light and as powerful as possible. I mean sure it'll be cool if you can have a fighter that can go to duna under it's own power but why would a fighter ever need that? You should have a carrier to bring the fighter where you need it. Other than that yeah, it looks sleek enough mmhm. Might want to add some real weapons like lances or forward pointing kethane drills / augers. Remember kids, missiles are for pussies, and sunbeam is not as satisfying. As for making service crafts, Rune has a lot in his thread. I have some kerbal carriers too.
  12. Well, you're using the B9, you should probably use the SABREs. They're so much more practical for SSTOs.
  13. the ideal lithobraking leg is just a long pole of trusses. "Planet Jousting", if you will. Provided you have control of your craft, you can have the pole be the part to first hit the ground. Can be reusable if you make the pole replaceable by the means of a docking port.
  14. Mayfly Very stable . Perfect for beginners with FAR too, it has so many flywheels it will just bruteforce it's way out of a stall / spin. Download
  15. slap the giant monoprop tank and let mechjeb do it for you. Alternatively approximate the orientation of the target port, match it then translate all the way to it using RCS.
  16. It's probably just the wing arrangement. The small delta at the front, wide delta at the back is pretty commonly used. I use them on almost everything even since they look so good, although I don't like using them for the underside of the hull. Asymmetry is nice y'know. Still, great plane as usual. If you can make a cargo version it would be perfect.
  17. just FYI, other things that automatically transfer fuel are the inline ram intake fuselage and engine attachment pylons (abusable bendy hinges). Wings may or may not do it, I don't remember.
  18. Not to mention that crafting a mosaic of wing parts should probably be an art form in and of itself
  19. make one that swivels to the back when retracted, that should allow for even cooler VTOL plane designs! Or even better, make one that folds like the stock landing gear!
