SSTO in Duna atmosphere
littlebattler replied to lewille's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
A spaceplane is still viable though, as the wings still generate lift even if jet engines don't work. Wing lift = less delta V needed to get to orbit. Take this into consideration when deciding whether or not you want to make the duna SSTO a spaceplane. -
Some people require the mobility that a laptop provides for work, and getting a desktop just for gaming after that would be wasteful. Please stop suggesting such things, it is rather inconsiderate. For OP, I suggest you compare the models and prices against other retailers, both online and physical. You might get a better deal.

Some people do derive some entertainment value from picking things apart. Even better, some people derive entertainment value from picking things apart AND is capable of accepting that the inaccuracies included works with the theme of the work and enjoy that as well. Twice the enjoyment from one sitting!

Yes, trust me, it's not intentional. I have never opened imgur galleries with a mobile browser, so I have no idea that would happen. As it is, when seen from a non-mobile computing device browser, the offending parts cannot be seen in this very page. You may argue that I should think about mobile users, but I had no idea of what a mobile user sees and to be fair, it's not exactly the first thing that comes to mind when posting in an internet discussion forum as mobile devices are often not too comfortable to do a lot of reading on.

Some people, like students for example, need a portable device to work on. Having a separate device for gaming can be quite expensive and wasteful, which is where the gaming laptop comes in. So please don't tell people off for wanting gaming laptops, it's rather inconsiderate. Anyways, don't shy off from any brand. I'm on my second Acer right now. The first one survived a dozen or so drops and was finally sold away after its Core 2 Duo processor became hopelessly obsolete. This one is well on its way to matching the first's record thanks to my clumsiness, although this one also overheats a lot, but a cheap $5 half-assed cooling pad fixed that. Not a gaming laptop, but it runs KSP and TF2 so I don't mind. Both were also very cheap so I am quite satisfied. Between those two, I had a quite good HP laptop. Unfortunately it came with Vista and upgrading to windows 7 was too expensive. It still ran Assassin's Creed II despite of that though, so yeah.

Reduce plane control surfaces super sensitivity [like FAR does]
littlebattler replied to Mihax209's topic in KSP1 Discussion
it mostly happens with keyboards, but with joysticks you can hold the controls in place. For those without joysticks, holding alt will enable you to set trim. I find this useful for fine maneuvering as well as it is somewhat smoother than caps. Just remember to press alt-x after you're done. -
I think it's kerbal enough

The New Stock Repository Version 0.21

TinyBuilder presents in cooperation with Munaheim Electronics and KEELE The first(?) in humanoid defense machinery and technology: The K9SNIPER Download Abusing the brand new, powerful reaction wheels, the K9SNIPER is capable of floating lazily through the air with its twin aerospikes. Actually maneuvering with it, however, is a totally different beast. Landing it successfully? Forget about it unless you're highly experienced with severely imbalanced VTOLs. What it does, however, is look like something out of a sci-fi movie or something. Which means it's badass. I mean, VTOL jump jets are good and all, but chicks dig giant robots. That means, the K9SNIPER, despite its terrible handling, inexplicably short range, and incapacity to actually hit anything with what little armament it carries is STILL superior to your immaculately built harrier jump jet replica that somehow got to orbit under its own power. Warranty void if used for hunting the space kraken. Warranty void if you thought this was the Scopedog. Warranty void if you equip it with a beam rifle. -

Wing Xero MK2 Vertical takeoff SSTO
littlebattler replied to Killenger's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
Does it come with twin buster rifles? Just kidding. And yeah you shouldn't go straight up when using a winged craft with turbojets. Wastes their potential. -
muh how did you attach the mk3 command pod in line with the hitchhiker... maybe I should download before asking silly questions.

Kerbal Space Defense Force
littlebattler replied to Devinci's topic in KSP1 Challenges & Mission ideas
Why must we use missiles? Why can't we use other weapons? I, for one, love using drills. Much more precise and reliable than missiles. -

SSTOs! Post your pictures here~

A couple of not-too-big crafts, but I'm sure they have some function. PCS2-2 Damselfly The Damselfly is a compact craft that carries 3 kerbals into Low Kerbin Orbit. Use the jets to pick up as much speed as you can as the 909s are somewhat tight on delta V. Several practice launches is advisable. Nowhere near as stable or maneuverable as the Mayfly and attempts to do acrobatic loops voids warranty. Download PCS2-2r2 Damselfly Mk2 50% less jet fuel, 25% more rocket fuel, ???% more fuel left once you reach orbit. The Mk2 is an improvement for those who do not want to spend a whole day carefully flying a craft through the upper atmosphere just to gain speed. Weighs just a teensy bit more and still carries 3 kerbals. Docking port not pictured but is provided in the production crafts. Download -
Invent a name for the first city on Kerbin.

I know buddy. That's why I suggested the name above. -

Backwards spanish? okay Ocololople -
Another thing: B9 is amazing, but only when you use it on its own. Mixing it up with stock parts tend to result in less than optimal results as the two styles do not exactly mix. The reason I mostly stick to stock is that B9 does not have that many 1m parts to play with.
-
The lander can also gives you control of the craft and has flywheels I suppose those systems weighing 2 kerbals is not that far fetched.

Cockpits, who needs them anyway?
littlebattler replied to Cupcake...'s topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
Amusing name, and that video is very well made. -
whatever is in that not food cabinet must be pretty heavy

I think stock parts have the best aesthetics overall. Their style simply hits that kerbal feel. Not the sleekest nor the most beautiful, and at times can even look like a piece of junk tearing at its seams. But that's the point. Your spacecraft may be a piece of flying junk, but there's nothing to stop it from being a well made, well balanced, good looking piece of junk. I really wish, however, for the devs to provide bigger wings... Besides, stock crafts are much easier to share. Every single person who updates their game will be able to use it. That's why I stick to stock.
