  1. Merry post-Christmas, everybody. The beta patch broke all of the plumbing on my ships, and I've finally fixed and reuploaded them. You can find 'em at the link in my signature so you don't have to dig back through the thread. Also, here's a teaser for the latest in the pipeline -- the Conestoga heavy transport.
  2. Not quite. The overall shape is actually based off the Elephant TL from X3: Reunion. It was my favorite ship in that game, and I wanted to recreate it KSP-style.
  3. One of my first and favorite designs, on its 4th major revision over several updates. The Odyssey Medium Transport; kudos if you can guess what other spaceship I patterned it after.
  4. Updated my original post with a ZIP file (You can also just click HERE!)
  5. Zenith Scientific Incorporated Hoo boy, here we go. I've updated my entire company for 0.25 and re-submitted to be closer to the guidelines Hatbat posted! Please note, all of these ships are 100% stock and tend to weigh in under 200 parts without anything docked to them, so they should fit into anyone's game! Submitting as: A full in-fiction company. History: Founded by old Thomsin Kerman, ZSI originated as Zenith Scientific Instruments, specializing in high-quality telescopes, but Thomsin had his sights set for loftier goals. After Skyhigh Aerospace folded (along with their poorly-designed rockets), he used his company's cash flow to secure their production facilites, refounding as Zenith Scientific, Incorporated (he was fond of his logo). Thomsin hired a group of up-and-coming engineers to design cargo and science spacecraft. A staunch advocate of peaceful exploration of the Kerbol system, he hired each engineer with but one caveat: any Kerbal that put guns on his designs would be fired. ZSI now manufactures transports ranging from the small Marlin light transport to the massive Pioneer tanker, along with modular space stations, ground research stations, and landers. The company conducts long-duration exploration and science missions all over the system, focusing mainly on the Mun, Minmus, and Duna. They also take fueling contracts, hauling massive fuel silos across the system to companies unable to afford transports large enough. Category: Logistics. None of ZSI's ships are armed, as they are all science and exploration vessels; however, some parties may find the highly sophisticated sensor suites present on each ship very useful. Allegiance: HKA. While ZSI is alarmed at the rapid militarization of space, and refuses to allow anybody to arm its vessels, HKA seems to be the lesser of two evils. ZSI has pledged to ship supplies and fuel from Kerbin to HKA, as well as offering Search and Rescue services. ZSI prefers to maintain neutrality, and will provide emergency services to any side, however. Catalog: Each ship has its own Imgur album, with RP info/stats on the first image, action groups on the second-to-last, and craft file download on the last. Marlin Light Transport Sunfish Light Transport Surveyor Light Transport Odyssey Medium Transport Yukon Medium Transport Pioneer Heavy Transport Revelation Heavy Transport Wharfman Shuttle Dockyard Shuttle Shipwright Shuttle Skystar Shuttle Assorted Small Craft Bases, Stations, and Landers Company Flag Want 'em all? HERE you go!
  6. Welp, 0.25 broke half of my designs. I'll be back with an updated catalog soon, plus a few new ones based on the new parts.

  8. Is there a place for a company of noncombatant ships? I designed a whole line of scientific and cargo vessels for Macey Dean's original ship submission project that (obviously) never got used.
  9. The big theme of the program I'm running (RP'd as Zenith Scientific Incorporated, the company I dreamed up for Macey Dean's series) is modularity. Nearly every mission is composed of 2-8 separate mission modules docked to a large interplanetary ship. See the key at the bottom for acronym and vessel explanations. Large mission vehicles receive a name and the KSV designation, others stick with their generic model names. I've got upwards of 60 flights going, so I'll just go by planetary bodies (inner to outer) Format: Mission Name - Mission Modules - Purpose and delivery Moho - Nothing yet. Considering building an unmanned mission there soon. Eve - A few small lander missions, a Gilly lander, and a growing space station -- Eve Polar Research Outpost - EARL - One-man exploration of Eve's polar regions, delivered by a ZSI Kestrel. -- Viridian Plains Research Outpost - EARL - One-man exploration of Eve's equatorial regions, delivered by a ZSI Kestrel. -- Eve Coastal Science Lander - HSL - Autonomous research of Eve's equatorial oceans, delivered by KSV Anagnorisis. -- Ilium Base - Caelum Skycrane Base Habitation Module - Failed landing of a semipermanent research base. Spontaneous Unplanned Disassembly upon parachute deployment; crew survived in lander module, but the science lab and consumables were lost. Delivered by KSV Anagnorisis and detachable deorbit module. -- Eden Station - 2x Kola Kan, 1x Fuel Silo - Orbital station coordinating the ground teams, providing a refueling stop for mission vehicles, and carrying out on-orbit research. Delivered by HAT (fuel silo) -- Pisces Lander - HAT - Repurposed tug as makeshift lander for preliminary measurements. Self-delivered. Kerbin - Tons of missions here, obviously. -- Project Constellation - Micro Commsat - Half-finished network of polar communications satellites. Self-delivered. -- Zenith Space Lab - 2x Fuel Silo, 2x Habitation Trunk, 1x Observation Trunk - ZSI's top-notch refueling and orbital research station. All modules self-delivered. -- KSV Anagnorisis - Anagnorisis-Class Medium Transport - In LKO, returned to Kerbin following a mission to Eve. One example, supplanted by the Revelation-class. Slated for decommisioning and insertion into exo-Munar graveyard orbit. -- KSV Revelation - Revelation-Class Heavy Transport - In LKO, awaiting mission assembly for a resupply to Jool system missions. -- KSV Odyssey - Odyssey-Class Medium Transport - In LKO, returned to Kerbin following a mission to Duna. Awaiting mission assembly for exploration of Dres. -- Munar Space Lab - 1x Kola Kan, 1x Fuel Silo, 1x Caelum Skycrane - Refueling and on-orbit science station in low Munar orbit. Also monitors the communication satellites around the Mun. Docked with a Kestrel light transport. -- Ed White Research Base - 6x Caelum Skycrane Habitation Units - ZSI's largest and most well-staffed interplanetary base. Delivered piecemeal by skycrane and linked together by a module-mover rover. -- Minmus Space Lab - 1x Kola Kan, 1x Fuel Silo, 1x Caelum Skycrane - Fueling stop and orbital research base; coordinates the satellite network of Minmus and communicates with Baikonur Base. Delivered by KSV Odyssey (Kola Kan) and a Caelum Skycrane (Fuel Silo). Docked with a Falcon light transport. -- Baikonur Research Base - 1x Caelum Skycrane Habitation Unit - ZSI's primary low-gravity planetary body research station. Delivered by skycrane. Duna - most trafficked body after Kerbin. -- Dunan Space Lab - 2x Kola Kan, 2x Fuel Silo, 1x Observation Trunk - Refueling stopover point; orbital research; coordination of all Dunan system missions. Docked to a Kestrel light transport and a Falcon light transport. Delivered by KSV Odyssey (Kola Kans), Caelum Skycrane (Fuel Silo), a pair of Falcons (Fuel Silo), and KSV Argonaut (Observation Trunk). -- KSV Argonaut - Odyssey-Class Medium Transport - Third of the Odyssey-class line, delivered a second round of mission modules to Duna, focusing on surface exploration. -- Eisley Base - 1x Caelum Skycrane Habitation Unit - Semipermanent research base on the Dunan equatorial plains. Has a rover for long trips. Delivered by KSV Argonaut, then a deorbit module. -- Grand Fissure Base - 1x Caelum Skycrane Habitation Unit - Semipermanent research base in one of Duna's canyons. Has a rover for long trips. Delivered by KSV Argonaut, then a deorbit module. Sister base to Eisley Base. -- Ike Space Lab - 1x Kola Kan, 1x Fuel Silo, 1x HAT - Orbital research and fuel stopover; coordinates satellites with missions on Ike surface. Docked to a Falcon. Delivered by KSV Odyssey (Kola Kan) and HAT (Fuel Silo). -- Aether Outpost - EARL - Temporary outpost on Ike surface, studying the Ikan regolith. Dres - another unexplored body; upcoming mission by KSV Odyssey. Jool - Subject of the largest single mission of the program: the Sojourn-Pioneer-Jool mission. See the documentation here: http://imgur.com/a/Q6qz8#0 -- Laythe Space Lab - 1x Kola Kan, 1x Fuel Silo - Orbital research/fuel stop coordinating all missions in the Jool System. Delivered by KSV Sojourn (Kola Kan) and KSV Pioneer (Fuel Silo). -- Grissom Outpost - EARL - Temporary research lander, assessing habitability of Laythe. Delivered by KSV Odyssey. -- KSV Pioneer - Pioneer-Class Heavy Transport - Large transporter designed to haul heavy fuel/station modules across space. Carried spare fuel for the Sojourn-Pioneer mission. Parked in low Laythe orbit. -- Vall Space Lab - 1x Kola Kan, 1x Fuel Silo - Orbital research/fuel stop for Vall. Delivered by KSV Sojourn (Kola Kan) and KSV Pioneer (Fuel Silo). -- Tranquility Outpost - EARL - Temporary outpost studying the viability of low-gravity colonization of Vall. Delivered by KSV Sojourn. -- KSV Sojourn - Odyssey-Class Medium Transport - Second of the Odyssey-class line. Carried most of the mission modules for the combined mission. Parked in low Vall orbit. Eeloo - Nothing yet. That sucker is hella far away. Sorry about the wall of text. Here's a brief rundown of the vessels. Odyssey-class: My bread-and-butter of interplanetary vessels. Has numerous docking ports of all sizes for various modules. My personal favorite of my designs. Pioneer-class: Fewer docking ports and crew accommodations than the Odyssey-class, but has a large docking port arranged in a towing configuration (hence the 'heavy transport' designation). Usually used to haul heavy station modules around. Anagnorisis-class: Smaller design than the Pioneer or Odyssey, used much like Odyssey but with less capacity. Prototype design, supplanted by the Revelation-class. Revelation-class: Combines the many docking ports of the Odyssey/Anagnorisis with a rear towing port like the Pioneer. Also has additional crew capacity. Very promising, very new. Kestrel: One-man light transport. Superseded by the Falcon. Falcon: Basically a Kestrel with a stretched cockpit to accommodate a passenger. Used to train Kerbalnauts before they get to pilot the big (expensive) mission vehicles. EARL: Extended Activity Research Lander; one-man lander for medium duration missions. HAT: Heavy Autonomous Tug - nothing more than four nukes, some fuel, and fore/aft large docking ports to haul junk around. HSL: Heavy Science Lander - Beefed-up lander probe for the harsh environment of Eve. Kola Kan: Small, modular station with docking ports for probes and small ships. Self-contained, but often used as a section for a larger station. Caelum Skycrane Habitation Unit: Simple base with no propulsion of its own, dropped off by a skycrane.
  10. Those are some impressive designs, Mr Tengu. Your fighter is particularly mean-looking; all of those inside-out sepratrons make it look like a space porcupine. I would be worried about that part count, though. My computer's no geriatric, and it starts to chug around the 400 part mark. I can't imagine what your carrier fully loaded is like.
  11. Hey folks. I've updated my ships for 0.21, and now I've got proof of travel to Laythe. And of course, by proof of travel, I mean a whole mission's worth of activity, complete with space musical chairs. See the whole mission here: http://imgur.com/a/Q6qz8#0 Here are the two major players in the mission: The KSV Sojourn and the KSV Pioneer. KSV Sojourn - Long Duration Multi-Mission Modular Science Vessel (Odyssey-Class, Block 2) Manufacturer: Zenith Scientific Incorporated, Aerospace Division Part Count: 216 (No attached modules) Crew: 3, Passengers: 8 Thrust: 8 x 60 kN LV-N rocket engines Power: 4x RTG, 4x Gigantor Solar Panels Docking Ports: 2x Clamp-o-Tron Sr (rear dorsal and ventral), 2x inline Clamp-o-Tron (dorsal and ventral), 5x Shielded Clamp-o-Tron (2 per forward side, 1 nose-mounted), 4x Clamp-o-Tron Jr Armament: None Mission: Delivery and maintenance of multiple small mission modules across the Kerbolar system KSV Pioneer - Heavy Scientific and Fuel Module Transport Vessel (Pioneer-Class, Block 1) Manufacturer: Zenith Scientific Incorporated, Aerospace Division Part Count: 162 (No attached modules) Crew: 3, Passengers: 4 Thrust: 8 x 60 kN LV-N rocket engines Power: 2x RTG, 4x Gigantor Solar Panels Docking Ports: 1x Clamp-o-Tron Sr (Aft towing configuration), 3x Shielded Clamp-o-Tron (nose of left, right, and central booms), 4x Clamp-o-Tron Jr Armament: None Mission: Delivery and maintenance of large, heavy fuel modules or space stations across the Kerbolar system. If there's enough interest, I'll post craft files! EDIT:Here's a link to the catalog so far, with the two motherships, the comm probes, the lander, the refueler, and three station modules.
  12. Attn: To whom it may concern, Spiritwolf aerospace company Zenith Scientific, Incorporated was founded decades ago by Tomlin Kermin, an inventor of modular space telescopes of high quality. The company soon expanded into more and more specialized scientific instruments, until one day poor old Tomlin snapped and acquired the failing aerospace division of a major fuel company. With nothing left for it but to give it a shot, ZSI began building rockets and space vessels, gaining a reputation for well-executed long-duration scientific missions. Their latest and greatest endeavor was the launch of the ZSI-designed KSV Odyssey, a multi-mission modular craft carrying space stations, landers, and probes to Duna and its moon, which is already paying rich dividends in data and resources. Launched a few months before the Battle of Vulture Drift, further missions have ground to a halt due to the blockade of Kerbin. The company's mission statement is "To the Stars, Hand in Hand, With Peace and Knowledge." Old gnarled Tomlin has only two cardinal rules for vessel design: "It had better be covered with docking ports", and "heavens help you if you dare to put a weapon of any kind on my spaceships!" ZSI was sympathetic to the Spiritwolf mission, and was on the verge of offering a refueling contract to the company, until the news broke that Spiritwolf was designing warships. Appalled, the company retracted any offers and focused on its own research. Once the news of happenings at Laythe broke, however, ZSI felt that there was no more room on the fence, and has chosen to throw its lot in with Spiritwolf. ZSI is prepared to offer the blueprints for the entire Odyssey mission on the condition that ZSI employees crew the ships, and that they not be asked to engage in direct combat actions. ZSI hopes to see a return to a demilitarized, peaceful exploration of the Kerbolar system, and is placing great trust in Spiritwolf to see it so. Please see the following records of the KSV Odyssey's mission: http://imgur.com/a/Mxy4p#0 Tomdrun Kerman, Chief Aerospace Engineer, Zenith Scientific Incorporated.
