  1. I put chutes on my boosters once. I set the chutes to stage with the booster separation. It did work, but as there is no economy yet, I never checked to see if I got my money back. koney? ah, kurrency Of course, there is the danger that an unattended part will be classified as debris and deleted.
  2. On my utility vehicle, I use atmo to slow the ship, then rockets, then parachutes for the last bit. And the utility vehicle doesnt even have lander legs and still lands softly. KSP Parachute Calculator http://ksp.freeiz.com/
  3. All stock parts float. It kind of depends what you want the boat for.
  4. A hovercraft uses trapped air to create a cushion. Given KSP's rudimentary aerodynamic model, I doubt it models trapped air flow. Or air flow at all, for that matter. I have seen VTOL crafts tho, you might have more success going that direction.
  5. At the load screen click on "Settings" Click on the "Input" button Click on "Staging UI" on the right side under "Axis Bindings" click on "None" under "Pitch Axis:" Move the joystick axis you intend to use for pitch Repeat for Roll and Yaw Merry Christmas

  7. I have not heard of that RCS problem. But, Hold ALT while Right clicking on one tank then the other tank. Then click on the "In" or "Out" button to transfer fuel.
  8. I have five friends who own KSP. None of them would want to MP, including me. I dont even see the point. Most of my time, and fun, is in the VAB, fine tuning a ship.
  9. I have been playing sandbox mode, and like the idea of having something to do when I get somewhere. They have added science, which gives one a task on-site. Adding resources would further extend the playable life of the game. Do a poll of multiplayer. I dont see the draw of that, could just be me tho.
  10. I think resources would be cool. It could be a DLC package, along with colonization and terraforming. not interested in MP
  11. My unkerbaled probe-rover I slung under a lander (with side mounted rockets). My 2-kerbal rover, on my Duna mission, I attached at a 45 degree angle on the side of the lander. It slide right off (after extensive testing on Kerbal).
  12. I use quicksave (F5) just before docking, when I am trying to line ships up. Though usually just to get the EVA ladders close, nothing exact.
  13. I could have been wrong. I saw a video where the guy had to go to a thermometer on the side of the ship, get the science and then go into the lab to upload it. BUT maybe he didnt know how to use the lab.
  14. EDIT: further KerbalKon videos suggest that this is not true. Nevermind. It looks from the KerbalKon videos that you have to manually retrieve (EVA) science from science parts on a ship, even though the ship includes the new science module. I would think that all science parts would be wired into the ships systems, and going outside to get to data would not be necessary.
  15. Interactive illustrated interplanetary guide and calculator for KSP http://ksp.olex.biz/ On interplanetary kerbaled missions I use large radius fuel tanks and nuclear engines. Also, you seen to have parachutes and a separator for Kerbin re-entry. I save the weight and dock with my space station on return.
  16. Thanks, I've not seen kerbalmaps before.
  17. All of my munar base modules were of similar design, and so were affected similarly by gravity and terrain. I only had a problem once, and moved to flatter ground to get a link (the modules have wheels). Find the flattest landing site you can.
  18. Ascending node = The point at which the orbit crosses the reference plane moving north. Here, "north" means the direction of the orbit normal of the reference plane. Descending node = The point at which the orbit crosses the reference plane moving south. http://wiki.kerbalspaceprogram.com/wiki/Terminology
  19. Q: How much does one of your payloads weigh? Rendezvous and docking are probably the most challenging things in the game. But it is so rewarding when you finally figure it out. Keep trying. There are a number of good tutorials on the topic, find the one that makes sense to you.
