  1. Ive had trouble if the part is still in hand so I either click in open space to set it to the side or I click in the panel to the left to discard the part first.
  2. Same keys, Ctrl+Z after setting down the part you took off to the side of your rocket.
  3. My first ship to Jool arrived last night carrying 5 Kethane/Mapsat satellites. Upon getting my Laythe encounter I detached the first probe and preceded to adjust a manuever node to stop my after encounter orbit from hitting Jool. I got an encounter with Vall with the maneuver, performed the burn and then switched to the probe and put it in Laythe orbit. Then I noticed me main ship was gone. I reloaded the quicksave I did right after the maneuver. Turns out I saved the return orbit from hitting Jool but changed my periapsis 10 minutes from the maneuver to 60km. I didn't expect Jool to be there....
  4. I mean waiting for the next missions before needing to send up a cupola module which is manned when the mission is to send up a satellite/probe. Im working on some lifters that are in the 20-50T payload range that hopefully can be adapted for future missions. If not I will design more!
  5. After an extensive snack break, our Kerbal Engineers have discovered the flaw with the original Triton design. In can lift the cupola module if done carefully, although we recommend waiting for the next series of rockets (2.5m) before launching that module as the Triton class is designed for unmanned probes. Triton: https://www.dropbox.com/s/rojivcpg9xv0s30/Triton.craft up to 5T to 100Km orbit Triton 5: https://www.dropbox.com/s/76etzmsj4usmklx/Triton%205.craft up to 10T to 100Km orbit
  6. I will look into it tonight and revise for a wider range of payload specs. I was using fuel tanks for test payloads. EDIT: After some R&D our engineers revised a new version, the Triton 5 https://www.dropbox.com/s/76etzmsj4usmklx/Triton%205.craft It will lift the Cupola with no trouble as well as any other payload I could come up with in the 5T range. It is adaptable in that the Triton 5 Heavy can lift almost 10T with a different final stage. EDIT2: See my following post for the final versions
  7. Here is the Triton rocket for our first mission. https://www.dropbox.com/s/rojivcpg9xv0s30/Triton.craft I will post a screen shot later tonight. It will launch 4.5T into a 100km x 100km orbit and should be able to deorbit its final stage after payload delivery. It is setup for Subassembly Manager if its to be used (probe core at top is root part).
  8. Why not test out this team based idea with something simple first before designing a large scale mission?
  9. To keep it simple we should keep it vanilla as much as possible. I do play with a handful of mods but I second that we use Subassembly Manager and maybe Kerbal Engineer for payload masses and info as such. And to start introductions my name is Ryan, I am a farmer and a computer repair specialist, i am from Wisconsin, and I have been playing since .20.
  10. I will update my entry with my expertise then. I can build and fly almost any craft and am very good at orbital construction. But I lack the experience to pull together an entire project as a planner. You can place me as you see fit.
  11. You could throw my name in the hat as well.
  12. Do have the gimbals locked on the outer engines? When lifting my interplanetary drive I have to lock the gimbals on the outer boosters or else the decouplers will break no matter how much I strut them to the inner tanks.
  13. The only community I am a part of that compares to here is Helifreak.com. Its that community that brought me to KSP actually. But their mission is to create a family safe environment as their members are of all ages. To me its refreshing to have a friendly community such as here to escape to with all the crap that is out there on the internet.
  14. It is possible as I did the exact thing today. Bob made 6 orbits around before Jeb and Bill took the lander back up to dock and come home. Must have been a physics glitch.
  15. The reason adding fuel only works to a point in adding delta-v is that at some point its using more thrust to lift the mass of the fuel then adding delta-v.
