  1. Yeah you can land but your ship will be destroyed. You'd have absolutely no chance of a Kerbin return.
  2. I'm pretty sure landing on Jool is nigh on impossible.
  3. Yeah I see no problem with building in the SPH, though if such a test area was put in, the option to spawn there would be nice. Though it wouldn't bother me driving to it either.
  4. I guess that would be a nice addition, why don't you make a thread for it? Could pair quite nicely with this suggestion, build in the rover building, when they launch from it you're at the testing ground?
  5. Oh of course! I mean it'd be nice if it was picked up, by developers or modders (though I suppose there's a forum for the latter), but I'm glad to see others agree. I do use the launch pad for testing my rovers but its far from ideal. Something actually designed for it would be lovely, and would make sense! Or alternatively allow us to chose where we launch them from so we can get to terrain we want to test, though I suspect that would take much more effort to implement.
  6. I would like to see the addition of more lights, not just single direction ones too, maybe ones that just provide ambient light in all directions.
  7. Thank you! I'd love to see this become a reality if more people get behind it! I can't really see any problems that would arise from having it!
  8. Ah, I've just realised the suspension is a little temperamental, you may notice it occasionally collapses and the vehicle sags, if it does, just revert to launch and try again!
  9. Something actually designed for it would be nice though!
  10. I'd rather a set area rather than having to build your own area, as building your own could be convoluted and would need a lot to be implemented, some set obstacles already at the Space Centre would be lovely though, provided it had plenty of variety!
  11. I love the idea of the gentle slope at the end, I have loads of spaceplanes that fly really well, but due to their centre of lift they don't want to take off without going off of the edge
  12. Also because it seems some of you want it, here's the craft file to one of my Trophy Truck designs. This one is actually a test chassis with more articulate wheels, and go over rough terrain considerably faster that others, feedback would be lovely PRE DRIVE WARNINGS It is susceptible to rolling under VERY hard cornering, though front wheel steering should solve that for the most part. Be careful not to jettison the wheels, their pylons are detachable, so watch your staging! This one has a lot less aero than the standard Trophy Truck, so it isn't as stable. However, because it isn't being forced into the floor so much, it can take harder landings! .craft file.
  13. Just made a 6 wheeler utility version of the Pea Huan, and also a 6 wheeler tow vehicle!
  14. Nice, like the 6 wheel design. I made something that resembles it quite a lot last night actually after watching the 6x6 G63 AMG on Top Gear last night!
  15. Well how about for every one item you recover, you get a 75% off thing on that given object, implying that it has been recovered and refurbed.
  16. A cool idea I guess, though as a way to make it easier to implement, how about you just get like, 75% of their value back if you recover them in full condition, less depending on their state of wear? It'd all work out the same anyway!
  17. I feel this is very relevant, and addresses some very key points! Also worth checking out their other videos if you haven't already heard of them, very cool.
  18. I suppose so but would that be long enough to effectively establish anything there? It would be VERY hard to build up a suitably thick atmosphere on Mars, once that's done you can get started on the whole terraforming process but still, tens of millions of years still isn't THAT long for life to properly develop. That said, there are pockets of magnetic field on Mars, but still, the atmosphere will still get picked off eventually. We'd certainly have to get atmospheric production proficient enough that it could compensate for what gets lost to space anyhow.
  19. Brand: Own Built CPU: Intel i5 3470 Quad Core running constant turbo at @3.6gHz GPU: ASUS GTX 650 Ti 1024mb twin fan Storage: 2 x Seagate Barracuda 1TB HDD's, giving 2TB of storage. RAM: 2 x 4gb Samsung Cooling: Antec Khuler 620 Series Water cooling with one intake fan feeding radiator, two chassis fans running exhaust. PSU: Corsair 650W Modular Age: Just about 1 year old Other accessories: Several dust filters, Gigabyte mouse, cheap Xebec keyboard, 37" Panasonic TV Cost: At time of purchase, about £1,200, as of now, about £900-1,000 Other things to note I'm running positive static pressure as the room I'm in is quite dusty, and it helps prevent dust build up inside the case. I clean it out every few months. Probably upgrading my GPU to a GTX 780 this year, and possibly upgrading my CPU to something that will run closer to 4.0gHz, though GPU will be priority.
  20. From the moment of launch to the moment of update! I only play vanilla, once tried mechjeb and didn't really like it, then it broke my install, so I've always gone vanilla. If I ever do mod, I have a backup folder just in case. The only non standard thing in my game is that I got the mod to give the Mk2 cockpit an IVA, that's it.
  21. I think the biggest problem with terraforming mars that you'll have is that any atmosphere that you try to establish is going to be picked off by solar wind as Mars has lost its regular magnetic field long ago. You could maybe do it if you built things within pressurized magnetic domes though.
  22. Yeah I did manage to get quite a bit of articulation out of it, I used the structural pylons to mount the wheels, but as a result it was quite unstable to drive, looked cool under motion though. The new stiffer chassis still has some roll, but is much more controlled.
