Hi all. Two things: 1) This isn't dead! 2) Bump! In other news, a progress report: So far I have begun on the model of the greenhouse, made the fairing's base and fairing, along with completely remaking the Volkom, and massively optimizing the Draco for improved texturing, along with a texture that is several thousand times better than the original.

Your point is? I would like to see this stock. In the game. Under certain conditions. Your post has absolutely no relevance here. I am not asking for a mod to be made to do this, or to find a mod that does this, I am asking the DEVS to make these things stock. If I wanted to know about any mods or modding tools relating to this, I would ask in the modding section, wouldn't I? So help me, I will cyberslap the shiznit out of the next person I see doing this kind of thing, or who just links to a mod that does what the person is asking the DEVS to do. -
I was landing Bobcat's Altair on the mun a few minutes ago, and I had a thought. Back in the Apollo program, when the lander neared the ground the engine's exhaust would begin to blow dust away from the lander and into the "air". Then I started thinking (Halt: "Always a dangerous pass-time".), why don't we have this kind of thing in KSP? It would be awesome to have this kind of thing in the game! Imagine coming in to land, and seeing they grey dust of Mun, or the brown sand of Laythe spraying away from your lander as you come in to touch down on these strange worlds? And then I kept on thinking. Why not put in the launch smoke flaring off of the ground as well? Like this:

Actually, this is only logical that it gets included in the stock game. Pay close attention to the detail on the 1-2 Pod. Notice anything? -

The fact that the Buran and the Shuttle were almost identical, was because for once the americans had gotten something almost perfect. This was not something the soviets were happy with. And as for thinking the Buran is superior, I believe it is. Higher payload capacity, and unmanned capabilities, along with the launcher already existing, and functioning on it's own. Also, it was designed with being able to be flown unmanned in mind, and that was why it flew it's first flight unmanned. It also did make other test flights in atmo, just as the shuttle did. The one flight it flew that you listed was the only one that went to space (Which was a perfect success, IIRC). I am not trying to have an argument, I simply want to say what I know on the subject. You may well know better or worse than me, but AFAIK what I have listed is correct.

Buran. The "Blizzard" shuttle is by far the most elegant and best spacecraft I have seen, IMHO. Much better thought out than the Shuttle. Unmanned capabilities were included from the start, plus jet engines to allow powered landing, increased payload mass from 24.8T to 30T, a launcher (Energia) already existed that only needed minor (In the grand scale of things) modifications to work. Plus no SRBs meant bail-out by parachute would have been an option if the command section was jettison-able.

There is a difference between exploiting the rules of challenges, and using what is there that can make your design better. Do you see anyone else sharing the same viewpoint as you? Also, people arent being sore loosers when they complain that you are exploiting the challenge. If you would pay attention to anyone elses entries into those challenges, most of them did better than you, and weren't criticising the challenge. They were complaining because you were blatantly going against the spirit of challenge. (Which seems to be your goal in life, looking at the challenges which you have entered.) If anything, I'd say you were being the sore looser here, as Tavert has found a very efficient way of doing the challenge, to get the highest score possible.(You know, the goal of these challenges.) Do you see anyone else claiming tavert is exploiting the challenge? The calculation does lean itself towards 2 to 3 kerbals, but still allows you to do one man missions. Look at my challenge entry. Do you see any of the same stuff as tavert? No. But look at my score. It is better than yours. Are you going to accuse me of going against the challenge? Or breaking the rules? Or using OP parts? -

sound like Deadly reentry is in there. FAR doesnt do damage, just aerodynamics and drag.

1) Basically, anything over 10kN will lift one ton (Albeit very slowly) 2) Some of the probe cores lend themselves toward different designs, such as the OKTO being good for mountable stuff, along with the HECS, and the OKTO2 having more powerful reaction wheels. Also some are just there for compatability with the larger sizes. -

Mic. You quoted an example that he was using. That example had nothing to do with the challenge itself. If you had relpaced the first pic with a banana and the second with an assault rifle, it would still have made sense and been relevant as to how people are just screwing around finding loopholes and being annoying. The point of the challenge is to launch a rocket from a sled. It doesnt have to be realistic, or useful or efficient. It is a CHALLENGE. To do something you dont normally do. The idea is to make a rocket launch from a sled in a creative way, which most people are trying to do, but there are a few people who are just plain going against the challenge rules, or exploiting them. (Can we have no mre posts on this? I dont want the mods to get involved, and this is an awesome thread, and a very interesting idea.) If you feel the need to reply, PM me. -
Shouldn't this be in the "Live from mission control" section? Either way, nice video! (It does start looking a bit wierd at times though, did you try to enhance it or something?)

NO! If I want a Mun Fighter, I am going to make a mun fighter! With Gatling guns! And Missiles! I do believe, however, that there should be some restrictions set in place on MP, such as being able to control the ability for other players to colide or control your stuff. [RP]If someone wants a military program, they can have one. Just dont force things like this from on high.[/RP]

Nice! Would you consider creating a MK3 fuselage styled line of parts for space planes? Such as a crew tank, rocket fuel, engine mounts and engines?

I have a few new capsules and parts for KSP, but I absolutely SUCK at making good textures. Halp Ples. I will PM people the model and uv, but you may not distribute this model or UV map whatsoever.
