  1. I use it for testing stuff, doing dumb crap with orbits, and avoiding dem bugs.
  2. A small, light, 1-kerbal lab. But it would be slow, and take more electricity.
  3. The real challenge is landing, going to other places, and making good designs. I shouldn't have to strut my lander to Eeloo and back to just land on Minmus with Kethane miners attached.
  4. I might have to try combining this with docking camera and docking alignment HUD mods to see if I don't need mechJeb 2 anymore.
  5. Happy 2014, from the Continental USA (EST time)
  6. 1: You just necro'd a thread. You don't do that. 2: That's not how the tag works. You need to upload it to a website first, your COMPUTER ISN'T A SERVER, IS IT?
  7. So, i was flying my rocket in map view, then all of a sudden, BOOM. I checked to see what happened, my craft had flown apart into hundreds of bits.
  8. If you want a colony, make sure you can dock if you play stock, or get Mechanical Jebadiah 2(aka MechJeb 2) to do it for you if you don't and you can't dock. Also, make sure you can land close to the main structure(which must be on one of those big flat lakes or your DOOMED), or, again, use MechJeb 2 to land for you(which I don't suggest, it takes the fun out of building bases). Last, make the parts into slow, big rovers so you can dock the whole thing together so you don't clutter up the Tracking Station. Your going to want a station in LKO(100k), and one orbiting Minmus, along with a good sized hauler which can transport stuff from LKO station to Minmus station, a good 20-60 ton launcher, and a Minmus OTS hauler (OTS= Orbit to surface, basically a lander which lands stuff other than it on the ground [said stuff needs landing legs or the huge rover wheels, or you will need to go SLLOOOOWW]). Get the orbital hauler to LKO station, and the OTS hauler to Minmus station. Now, launch the first base part to LKO station, get it to Minmus station, land it, and send the OTS hauler back up. Refuel it, and send in the next part. Do what you did for the first part again, make sure both are not on the landing legs, and rover part B to part A, And hope you can dock them together. And congratulations, you just do that a bunch of times, and you got a base. I suggest KAS to attach base parts together.
  9. Looks to me like it's solved: It's really, really hard to make a cycler between the mun and kerbin. Oh well.
  10. Nope, it's rare, but kerbals other that jeb can sometimes get the BadS flag.
  11. Darn. Was hoping someone could come up with a solution. I'll leave this for a day as unsolved, and if no-one gets something workings, it's not possible.
  12. So my question is, is it possible to set up an orbit which passes between Kerbin and mun SOI(or gets close to the mun, but not in SOI) once every orbit without every using fuel to stop it from leaving the Kerbin system(kerbin/mun/minmus)?
  13. Please make your own welcome post if you would like, but welcome anyhow!
  14. The only way it wont work is if it doesn't have a driver(or isn't compatible) for Mac10. Good luck on your search, that's all I know. It needs to have the right software/firmware/wahteverwhere.
  15. You need to use asparagus staging for the launch stage if you don't use FAR. It's the greatest way to get the most bang out of your rockets, as you have the most engines running at once. And as always; 1: Remember to throttle down a little bit until your gravity turn or staging to save a bit of fuel. And 2: MOOOOOOAAAAAR BOOSTERS.
  16. No, your the only space organization created. All missions should be scientifically related, such as orbiting object n for x hours with a camera, or observing something a bunch of times. You would get money and science for it.
  17. I would love that to be implemented. (referring to op) And @ Frostiken: You forgot about building huge bases and flying sstos powered by ion engines to eeloo. (Has anyone ever done that?)
  18. This challenge is flawed, I can create a craft that goes 2 m to sea level, then fly out into L.E.O. with just infiniglide. The hard part is getting to eve.
  19. Nosecones are completely useless no-matter-what, as rockets don't need any more drag, drag slows them down, and massive crafts already have enough from KSP's drag=mass crap. And on space-planes, just use air intakes if you need more drag. Not dead weight.
