Man, your SSTOs look fantastic! (playboy whistle) Some rep for you sir. And it looks like we had the same idea for a cockpit Keep it up

I think this is a good bump. This is a good discussion on a still relevant subject. I mostly agree with wanderfound here. The suggested idea sounds like a good workaround, but why not do it properly? Something like reduce the current jet engines to be nozzles, implement an engine part (the nozzles then can determine the performance (basic or turbo) of the engine), and integrate intake air into the fuel-flow-system. Fuselage parts and radial intakes would allow the flow of intake air, others don't. Or something like that. This is just a half baked idea with losts of room for improvement. For the aircraft instability problem: I have strong believe in the devs, that this will get a hell of a lot better with the upcoming aero overhaul. ... and bacon is indeed awesome

Top level (4 or 5 stars) skills idea
KerrMü replied to jlcarneiro's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
I would like if one of the kerbonaut classes would gain a speciality for driving rovers. The engineers would be my choice. Something simple though. Like 4 star engineers can hold course (steering), and 5 stars could maintain speed (throttle and brakes). Let's say you're driving over Dunas surface with 47° heading and 8m/s speed. Then just press T ,or click a little Icon, and your little engineer tries to maintain that parameters. -
I´m getting a "don´t step on the grass"-moment from that.

Exactly what I´ve been doing for the last few days (didn´t have much time). Edit: I forgot. I´ve built a Cargoplane with a working loading ramp and went to the southpole and back with a rover.

[11/26/15 Update] Say Hello to the Light-Green Group!
KerrMü replied to Endersmens's topic in Kerbal Network
Wow, thx Not so sure I deserve this. I´m just doing what I love. (Do I have to wear light green blazers now or something? ) Cheers -
Is it just me or is the Stayputnik useless now?
KerrMü replied to passinglurker's topic in KSP1 Discussion
In early career I completed my very first satellite contract, rescue mission and explore the Mun mission with the Stayputnik. It's challenging. I like that . Definitely not useless. -
Nice, the old Shuttle thread. Here is mine. The Münraker. 505 parts stock. In the Spacelab configuration it gets to an 170-180ish orbit at MECO with lots of fuel for orbital maneuvering on OMS engines. (haven´t tried it with the orange tank jet) Still in development though. I´ve added 3 jet engines under the SSMEs for safer landings aso. And this is an "old" one. Only a few weeks old and already obsolete Maybe I´ll try to build something Energia Buran alike soon. God I love the new editor

It´s been a Space Shuttle week for me. First I read Mike Mullanes "Riding Rockets". A very funny book. I can only recommend it. And since 0.90 I´ve been busy building one. And finally it works! (wow, shuttles are not easy)

show me what you are building or have build in 0.90
KerrMü replied to soulreaver1981's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
Okok, I´m boring. I´ve also made a Space Shuttle Finally, after 3 days it works -
KSP 0.90 'Beta Than Ever' Grand Discussion Thread!
KerrMü replied to KasperVld's topic in KSP1 Discussion
downloading right now. thank you soooooo much guys! making coffee right now for a sleepless night -
Congrats for a) buying this game that impressive Münlanding-story c) getting addicted Fell in love with the game by playing the demo. "Wait, I can design a spaceship and then fly it... and how I design it has an actual influence on how it flies? Shut up and take my money!!!" That was manymanymanymany hours ago.

The Stock Mk1 Cockpit.
-
Speaking of Shuttles II Not really the shuttle. More an interpretation of the concept. It's called the MÃœNRAKER 1. That thing pushed my current career save over the edge, so since then I'm taking a little break till 0.90 and wait for the new Mk3 Parts.

Scream Chaser (A Dream Chaser clone)
KerrMü replied to Exothermos's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
Thats a beautiful system, and how you use the cargo bay there is a really good idea, And the name is brilliant . Would you mind if i borrow it? -
Poll: Kerbal Space Program's Mun Landers
KerrMü replied to AncientAstronaut's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
Yep I´ve spent a lot of time on the Mun before going interplanetary. But I´ll always remember the first one... glorius times. Edit: sry, didn´t see it´s a necro. -
Hey Raptor If you can do that, then you´re my hero. Fiddeling with the engines, weight, staging might get you quite a bit more dV. 1500m/s is still a little mountain to climb, though. As I know, you want to build your own lander, here is the craftfile for my Princess Leia. Just in case you wanna check out my staging sequence. That way turned out to be the most efficient for my craft. http://www./view/5zboemh6odhyeu4/Princess_Leia_Mediafire.craft Good luck Pal, and keep us up to date. Hello SgìobairOg I just doublechecked the file on a stock version of 0.25.0. It works here, so I am sorry, but I don´t know what´s the issue there. And here is how I got it to Eve: I´m gonna have to test it on duna soon. Jeah, that was not easy. Took me 1.5h driving around in that little rover to find that spot. And landing on it was (like I wrote above) the most difficult thing I´ve ever done in this game. Got square eyes, cause my nose was glued to the monitor that evening. Hilltops are often pretty falt. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- On another note: I finally found some time to play today. So after my first manned landing on Gilly ever I attempted to rescue Jeb from Low Eve Orbit. My original plan was to take both vehicles back home to kerbin (that´s why the gilly lander´s got chutes). But the inclination of the target was to steep, and the little tug didn´t have enough juice. (I had to mess up something on that mission ) So I had to send it out unmanned to refuel Leia. And so Jeb safely got back to the mothership. And after a huge Snackparty they all set off on their way home to Kerbin. The end of that story is near. Cheers Mü

like Vanamonde said, for low gravity environments the best wheels in my opinion are the TR-2Ls. Those got really good grip. With the other ones you get wheelspin most of the time. When you wanna drive around on heavier planets it`s a bit more tricky. IMO the RoveMax Model M1s are good for light rovers like dunebuggys etc on rough terrain, because they are a bit more forgiving when you jump and land a bit sideways. On heavier rovers or on more even terrain I prefer the TR-2Ls.

I managed to get a Kerbal back from eves surface just last thursday. It was pretty hard and kept me busy for at least 2-3 weeks. Here is the thread to that mission: http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/98607-Eve-Experts Maybe it helps. cheers, Mü

Virgin Galactic SpaceShipTwo and WhiteKnightTwo
KerrMü replied to ethan829's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
Rep to you sir. I know it's tricky to make it work. -
In LEO (low eve orbit) And he is overwhelmingly glad, that he doesn't have to spend the eternity in a purple hell I'll pick him up next week.

Is CoL being calculated correctly?
KerrMü replied to Redshift OTF's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
thx guys, I didn´t know that either, but it explains a few problems I had with my planes in the past. -
I flew a plane at eve today. Above 11-12km the behavior was comparable to a flight on kerbin. Below that you go definitely slower. So if you want to cover some ground, then I would suggest you take enough fuel with you. But you can glide for a pretty long time there.
-
YEEEEEEESSSS! It worked! At my try I messed up the gravity turn a bit and hadn´t got enough oomph to circularize. Then I gave Mechjeb a try, and he got Jeb into a nice 100km orbit with a bit of fuel left. And that gave me some time to take some screenshots. I´m gonna try this again manually, but for tonight it´s enough. Game on, cheers, Mü

That movie is definitely in my top 5, and thx. Small update: I have arrived and landed Collecting all the sweet science right now. Gonna make a rover-ride to the seaside, and then try to get in orbit again. I´m away for the weekend again, and I just can´t wait so long to see if I can make it or not.
