To be honest the way space tourism is at the moment and with Virgin Galactic starting operations in 2014 its very similar to what the aviation industry was in the late 30's right the way through to the 50's (Jet Set). Its a very expensive comodity that I cannot see been made to be mass profitable for atleast 20 years. As for what I think I will see in my lifetime is this. 1. Manned Mars mission, probably around 2030. 2. Orbital commercial facilities. What I am not sure about is wether we will return to the moon anytime soon.

Why not release the project without the internals to start with then add them after. I for one do not use internals that often.

I would add a further level to this and scan for metals and water, this being a pre-requisite for a permenant base and manufacturing facilities. This is exactly what NASA is looking into using any resources with 3D printers. -
Would it be possible in time to add a simulator to the new R&D section of the space centre for the testing of component craft in other atmospheres?

Uterly freaking beautifull work and mimicing the work done at the moment with lifting bodies, a massive welldone (or atleast when its released). May I offer a suggestion, as you have detailed your work with shuttles and pods would it not be prudent to round out the Nuka Corp line of products with rocket systems and station parts? -

I am looking forward to installing these when there finished, however, regarding the cupola why not go very sci-fi and go with an observation module and not a cupola. You could also do the same for engines and run them on a test rig and make them in time more efficient and usefull. Edit: Just think of all the laughs watching Jebediah stand headfirst into the airstream. -
After messing around trying to get a stable / quick / usefull Spaceplane I thought of the following tweaks that might help the average designer getting more out of the KSP. Warning these are the ramblings of a middle aged nutter with aviation experience. 1. With the proposed tech tree and R&D building been worked on I propose for discusion that we have a wind tunnel test facility added (obviously in time). After installing Kerbal 1, Bobcats excellent Soviet Pack and the CSS Shuttle mods the wings with those mods are significantly better than those available in the stock packs and the B9 mod. Could we have a wing design option along the lines of what the team behind procedural fairings have done with there recent release and they offer a semi bespoke fairing design (big thumbs up for that). Could that process be implimented to work with wings? I personally dont know I have absolute zero programming skills but the idea of having a plan and head on view of a wing to then test in a wing tunnel would be an advantage. With the advent of CAD more conceptural work is being done CFD computer fluid dynamics which if any F1 fans will remember from Virgin Racings debut season didnt give the results that matched real world parameters, hemce why I suggest that the new R&D building adopts the use of a wind tunnel to cross reference CFD's findings. This process if done succesfully could improve a players Aerodynamic traits and would certainly add more science to the game. 2. Personal annoyance I have with the MK 3 cockpit, its ugly and in my opinion needs a big overhaul and a lot of love. 3. Landing gear systems in stock need embelishing to provide a light / medium / and heavy undercarraige option. 4. PAPI's (precision approach path indicator - 3°) should be a standard fit at KSP and not a mod. 5. Stock robotic arm nad not a mod, regardless of how excellent they are. I personally use Ronfarers mod, excellent work. Infact if NASA have it we should have an equivilant as stock (in time) and that should include a stock auto pilot. Nationality Idea, Is Kerbin a single nation planet?, probably not. What would be the chance of been able to select a Kerbal nation, with differing traits regarding its space programme. For example NASA would be refined technically and well funded, ESA have good lift capabilities with efficiency, RSA would have heavy / massive lift capabilities and rugged design. Also would there be scope to including private companies, Space X and Burt Rutans Scalled Composites. JAXA (Japanese Aerospace Exploration Agency, formed in 2003) and other nations such as chinese and Indian equivalent agencies could be added in as a more challenging side to the game were you have to develop your own facilities alongside a market share of the available business. Anyhow there are my thoughts, even at this early stage of the game its fantastic and has massive scope for the future WELL DONE.

Can MechJeb work out a Geostationary orbit height?

Well there I was getting into the hang of using mechjeb and I got a little sloppy. I have been modifying an orbital capsule for resuply runs on a recently started spacestation. it is well into the early hours of the morning in the UK and once again I am unable to sleep so I start up KSP and I had a brain wave lets do a test of the capsules capacity. So I load up the command pod and the crew pod (crew pod is the other side of the stack decoupler but I had not thought of that. We have a slight emergency in orbit, yes Jeb got a little carried away with the KER Bull (it gives you rockets) so I have a choice decouple or punch back upto orbit, I chose to punch to orbit. The moral's of the story, 1. Dont let Jeb have KER Bull (it gives you rockets) 2. Remember not to play KSP when your tired and kill more than half of your astronaut crew in one go. Rescue ships are on the pad as we speak.
