okay do you believe in your lifetime you will be able to buy a reasonably priced ticket into space. meaning not one you have to save up years for but one thats basically the price of an airline ticket? i think in my life time i will be able to buy a ticket to either the ISS or possibly the moon:) if neither then just a ticket into space for maybe an orbit or two of the earth. im planning on it maybe in 30 or 40 years. would love to go sooner but i dont think id have the money to afford a ticket before then.

does KSP have a quote end? if you went straight up from ksp and just kept going would you eventually hit a wall? is it like minecraft that technically has an end but is like inpossible to get to. or does it have no end and you just keep going till your pc cant take it anymore?

i use mechjeb myself but im starting to use the planner rather then the auto pilot. the planner basically does what the auto pilot does but instead of it doing the flying you can hand fly the whole sequence. its actually a very good teaching tool. and if you get off track at any point you can just turn on the auto pilot till you have your bearings straight then turn it back off and resume hand flying the docking yourself

Just a thread to share what the hardest thing in KSP for you is. For me it's docking/redevous. I am still trying to figure them out. If I didn't have mechjeb I couldn't build a space station.

just cause your in a class using the same game engine doesnt mean your a good game designer. hate to sound harsh but truth is if you dont have anything that showcases your skills as a game designer it doesnt matter how many classes you have. not saying you did but how does squad know if you just got poor grades in the class but still high enough to pass it? how do they know you actually learned and are able to use all that you were taught in the class. my advice start with a mod. try and make something that will stand out then maybe contact them. that way you can have something to show off that highlights your skills.

Okay I'm kinda confused here what stage is KSP in? Is it a late Alpha? Or is it a mid to late Beta? I'm kinda confused as to what area KSP falls under. Also will this game ever truly be done or will it stay like minecraft constantly updating and getting new features?

Okay here is the challenge Create a space station that orbits in the lowest possible orbit. Rules Station must maintain orbit and hold its orbit. Ie not falling back after X number of orbits. Ap and Pe must be as close as equal as possible. No Pe of 70k and Ap of like 500k. Any # of parts can be used as well as any part based mods. NO physics mods or gravity hacks allowed. Finally station must be able to be docked with and must be able to stay in its orbit while ships are docked. Entries must have screenshot of the orbit map and screenshot of station at Ap and Pe. Winner will be be decided based on lowest orbit.

umm do you not realize that 90% of the tech we use today was built to solve problems or uses things made in space? the shuttle program advanced so many fields of research it would take an entire thread just to list them. the ISS is helping us understand how micro gravity effects things helping to lead to new ways to treat diseases and create new compounds. what have probes and telescopes done for us??? what have the created???? honestly i hope your just trolling cause your re purposing of NASA is what there mission is already -
is it harder on the game if you use clipping? like does it make it have to work harder on loading the ships and will effect the frame rate or will it run just the same?

What mod is it that let's you do things like put parts inside of other parts? Is there a mod that expands the way you place and move parts? I've seen ships with multiple intakes inside each other is that a mod or what???

Do you believe that in your life time you will get to see man return to the moon? I'm 24 almost 25 and I very firmly believe in my life time I will see man return to the moon and highly suspect that I'll even see the first man mission to mars. What is everyone else's thoughts? If not what time frame do you think is set for us to return to the moon

Okay I'm sorry its in tge wrong forum. i cant set pretexts using the mobile version so cant post in the right section. totally new to ksp. It's the first flight/space sim I've ever played. What is the best orbit for me to use to learn how to dock two ships? I currently use one that flies over the poles. I'm thinking this is far more difficult then if I were to use one that goes around the middle. Am I right? What's the best one to start with?

okay this is not a how to build an SSTO question. this is a how to fly an SSTO question. okay i am able to build them just fine or use stock craft from one of the mod packs i have installed. my problem is flying them. i cant get into orbit. i dont know were im making my mistakes. when i take off i start with about a 15 to 20 degree angle of nose up. ill hold that using the computer control until my air breathing engines flame out. then i hit the rocket engine and lower the nose to about a 5 to 10 degree angle. i hold that until ive used up all my fuel. is this right? do i climb as soon as i lift off the runway or do i need to climb then level out and gain speed then climb again? im so confused. i can orbit with rockets just fine. its these planes that are giving me so much trouble. thanks for any advice and please dont call me a stupid noob we were all new at the game at some point. im sure you had trouble with things that seemed so easy to do.

Sleek and powerful Cargo SSTO challenge

Okay challenge is to build a sleek yet powerful SSTO that flys well not using any of the mechjeb mod pack. When I say sleek I mean no crazy engines hanging all over the place. Think Concorde style. As in everything seems to just look right but also has a function. Mods that can be used are B9, Novapunch, modular wheels, kw rocketry and procedural wings. Please include a download link and pic of your craft.

okay i really hate to have to ask for something but im at my whits end trying to build this. can someone build me a cargo ssto that will carry into orbit pretty big cargo. like space station parts. the only requirements are that it cant use mechjeb to fly as i dont have it and will not install it, and that it doesnt use any mods other then B9, Novapunch, KW rocketry, or fuseteck stationparts. if possible please keep the no clipping or to a minimum. or what ever lets you put parts in parts cause it makes my laptop freak out. thanks to anyone that decides to make one. really really really am great full to you!!!

Okay wasn't sure were to put this. But what types of craft do you use to support your space station? Support meaning like tugs to move parts or other vehicles not used to build or hold fuel on your station. Or any other random ones you use around or on station.

Would putting a rocket on it be any use? How much power is needed to push and tow parts in space? I'm thinking it will need the ability to tow parts to catch up with the station.
