  1. Where the hell do you land the Raptors after fighting off the Cylons? You must have mean't 20,000 parts! (Looks cool)
  2. This ONLY happens to me when I try to use Ubiozor Welding tool
  3. I play on STEAM. A lot of the time however I am playing in offline mode.
  4. You should really do what Rhyunix said and ALT + F12, Enable Whack a Kerbal, and just blow that [explicative] to smithereens. The SRB that is. You don't want to blow the rest of the ship up........ do you?
  5. Not exactly what you wanted but its a nice mod. http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/24845-Boat-Parts-SubmarineParts-R4-NEW%21
  6. It would probably just be Turtles from Space......... Wait thats happening already
  7. I wager the NSA is reading this thread by now and you are all on a watched list, myself included now for posting. GG
  8. Wow, derp, silly oversight. I think I will take another stab at it now.
  9. Ya I did try and go pretty much straight up, I had my wings angled down to the prograde of the spin if that makes sense. I don't know to much about helicopters but that always seems to be a thing in the ones I've looked at I have DCS BlackShark, needless to say I only got about 3 hours into it before I realized I'm not a helicopter pilot LOL. I'll try putting the whole thing on taller launch platform so I can give it a proper angle of attack from the getgo. Bear in mind I had no tail rudder or anything either, I'm merely trying to get lift out of the primary blade at the moment
  10. So, I've only seen one working helicopter mock-up made before. I've forgot most of the inner workings of it. I'm curious how people have managed a sort of helicopter-esque design. Not using propeller or helicopter blade type mods of course... More of impromptu helicopters. Recently I tried sticking a makeshift helicopter blade out of wings attached to a free-spinning infernal robotics docking ring, and while I can get the thing spinning fast as heck with sepratrons it seems to impart no lift on the vehicle. I'm going to try a more quadracopter approach tonight but in the mean time I'm hoping people can share their experiences or point me at some good reference material. Thanks
  11. I don't think he was waiting for you to tell him your source. In fact, he was telling you to forget about Terence Dickinson.
  12. Not really since I haven't reinstalled EVA parachutes since .19 or something. But I do enjoy the occasional kerbal on a KAS attachment style orbit..... (Top 9 pictures capture some of the mayhem the drag of a kerbal on a 50ft cord can cause an aircraft) http://steamcommunity.com/id/4th3ist/screenshots/?appid=220200&sort=newestfirst&browsefilter=myfiles&view=imagewall
  13. Sorry, should have assumed this was a troll post when you asked the point of rovers, only for bases, and posted a picture of your base that fits in a 50m radius..... Try walking?
  14. I recall what you are talking about but sadly cannot provide a link.
  15. Drive in docking mode. Your probably torquing your front wheels to much to gain any acceleration. Report back with effects.
  16. I haven't built a big plane since .19 with B9, I play mostly mod free now. What I wanted to contribute was that I've had great success with bi-plane wing setups on small-medium planes. Don't be afraid to start over now and rebuild to where you are with your current design plan. You can work out existing redundancies and improve things that you already have found can be done better. It's never to late... Don't get burnt out on another big project Whack! Just make sure you have center of lift/thrust behind center of mass. Usually the primary wings are near the arse end to balance the bulky weight of the engines. Be sure to disable yaw on all your wings but tail wings. It will rip a big multi-part plane apart trying to use to many control axis on a single control surface. Try making multiple control surfaces for individual functions (pitch/roll/yaw). Landing should be easy. Land on the engines, gently use SAS to flip it onto the wheels, or RCS. Those landing gears are strong, don't be worried about dropping on them. I actually made a pretty ******edly large rover back in the day out of the Modular Multiwheels mod that I forgot all about. It was slightly smaller then what you have there and landed on the mun (and returned, punching it up a mountain to get a return trajectory LOL) with that profile. The entire thing was made out of entirely cheater parts (Modular Multiwheels, Deuterium, B9/TV Wings, etc). but the proof of concept exists IMO. Good luck
  17. I've had some very good success with rovers on the Mun. I've visited Minmus with small-medium rovers and never enjoyed it. You can get away with rocket powered rovers on Minmus but it usually ends catastrophically if you actually want to have any fun. I've had small sized rovers on the Mun that can do insane speeds and float over long distances, the medium rover wheels absorb shock really well. At least the modded ones with TV Aerospace (I think that is the mod). Stock rover wheels work on the Mun as well... but... Doing 20m/s just isn't fun, is it?
  18. Perhaps these are things that they will facilitate once they have a monetary system installed. For now, for gameplay reasons stated by Ralathon, it doesn't make sense though.
  19. The Crystal Method - High Roller --Great launch music--- Kognitif - Rocket Trip https://soundcloud.com/kognitifofficial/14-kognitif-rocket-trip ---Entering Duna SOI? --- Bear in mind none of this is "classical" music... Great space tunes though.
  20. In that respect it would be nice to see a huge stock parts expansion right before 1.0 perhaps. I know, new players overwhelmed, blabla.... Just have a button in the VAB that says "Show Advanced Parts" or something. I don't think that would even be necessary if they get the Career mode working as a tutorial. I'm looking at things like Shuttle parts, better 0.625m parts, > 2.5m parts, etc. The fact that you have to strap several 2.5m cans together for larger payloads just highlights the fact that stock lacks the parts to build realistic rockets with heavy payloads. I can only assume it is SQUADs intention for us to assemble large payloads in space over multiple launches given the scope of stock parts. And as for KJR, I've been using that since it first got uploaded. In fact, I think I'm using one of the first builds still. Am I missing out on anything special in a newer version I wonder.... Oh well everything is running fine on my end
  21. Good suggestions from a new player, many nuances I recall experiencing when I was still quite new. Hopefully they can do a user-friendliness pass over the game sooner then later. Just a -little- love, to help keep public interest. I'm afraid all the public awareness of KSP now can be a double edged sword. In a world that moves so fast, many people may have heard of KSP, tried it, and been quickly discouraged. They will move on to other games, and many will never think twice about KSP. I know its in the best interest of the dev cycle to do these kinds of things (user-friendliness/UI/tutorial) later in the dev cycle. Due to the public awareness of KSP I think that priority should be re-evaluated though.
  22. The first track in my Kerbal list. Plays well with launches. Crystal Method - High Roller I'm going to butcher the username.... Kata something or other... Anyways they have an awesome Mission to Duna video with great Kerbalesque music the whole way through. Link below
  23. I enjoy the look of the RAPIER and feel it fits stock nicely. That aside, when I get back to playing with mods again I will probably use SABRE engines instead because they blend nicely with associated stock mods. That being said, and the reason I'm replying honestly, is just to say I find the RAPIER to be incredibly powerful. I never use SABRE even when I have KW installed because I could just never get it to work nicely for me. Well having just unlocked the RAPIER I made one of my better if not best SSTO's in recent memory in one go. It runs on 870/880/108 LF/OX/MO and 2 RAPIERS/1 Turbo Jet with 4 Intakes. There is some part clipping involved to use 2 large 1.25m fuel tanks between the wings with a bi-plane wing setup. With some luck I might be able to do a stock single stage to laythe and back here eventually (First 2 pictures in this album should be of the SSTO http://steamcommunity.com/id/4th3ist/screenshots/)
