  1. I have a bug report and GitHub isn't being nice so I figured I'd post it here. Whenever I exit the VAB (launch, KCT simulation, exit to KSC) and come back in, any procedural parts on my rocket have reverted to their original sizes and glitch anything else attached to them. this results in a rocket that is unusable and uneditable (it also reverts the name to "Vessel Name" for some reason). I have all kinds of mods installed (the RO suite + MKS/OKS + SCANsat + science mods + a bunch more) but no part packs. I have absolutely no idea what is causing this but it is rendering my game nigh unplayable even though I'm still at the stage where I have to build a new rocket for every mission anyway.   2. Can anyone recommend a realistic ISRU and construction mod to use with this? Extraplanetary Launchpads is about the only proper extraplanetary construction mod that I'm aware of, so I guess I'm just wondering if the Kethane ("Normal") version is more realistic than the Karbonite version or vice versa. Or is KSP Interstellar more realistic in terms of these things? (the only problems I can foresee with Interstellar are a. completely unbalanced tech progression and b. no real way of extraplanetary construction) Also if this is not the correct thread to post this in please let me know.

  6. IDEA! Could someone do universe replacer textures for each of the planets in this order? i.e. so that pol looks like io (more than it does now) etc. (the textures i'm using replace the planets and moons with realistic textures, but not in this order (so gilly/bop look nothing like phobos/deimos, but ike does) Great mod, too! i love the extra challenge.
  7. No, i know this, what i was saying is that you should probably say that there is the 40K safety bubble in the FAQ's in the main post so people don't have to go trawling through the comments to find out why they can't see each other. (looking back at my post i can see how you got confused)
  8. At least you can see other players... Just downloaded and started a server with all the correct settings, me and my friend connect and sync, but we cannot see one another even tried launching from different pads to meet up like on the runway... Am stumped in whats going on.. Just a suggestion, but i think the OP should put this "tidbit" of information in the main post (probably close to the top, too) to stop people incessantly complaining about it.
  9. Yep Speaking of which, how do we handle the update? Are we going to restart from the start in career mode or just stay in sandbox? Obviously we'll lose all our subassembilies, and this challenge is basically unplayable to the people who don't want to keep playing 0.21 (everyone) until KAC and Kethane update (unless they already have).

  12. Thank you , and i'm used to docking things to my massive space station in kerbin orbit that simply cannot be turned, so i got quite good at that type of "single ship" docking as i call it (read: it's habit).

  15. Mission 17 Complete! The docking array is now on the nearpoint station! YouTube link to mission video (link because I'm not entirely sure how to embed these things): I've uploaded the save file to the Official shared folder, Upload your finished archive to the folder(only the actual save file, tell me if you also need the GameData and PluginData folders) Points claimed: On-Time, Complete Objective, New Objective, Video, Asset?, Rules Time to complete: between 1 and 2 hours. New mission objective: Somehow de-orbit the booster stage at the mun and/or do house keeping (rotate crew, refill station fuel tanks etc.)
  16. okay, problem I thought i could do the mission in the time remaining before i had to go to sleep, didn't realize there are actually 2 things that need deorbiting (and so now have to go without the mission being finished) Can i have an extension or something or is this a mission failure (would prefer the former) PS i also built a ship with procedural fairings on it, but i have replicated it (without the fairings) and named them accordingly (XXX and XXX w/profairings). EDIT: i really have to go now so i guess i'll check back in the morning
  17. Fair enough, but how do you mod the part temperature tolerance? in the config, the part file itself? Also, i'm wondering if the heat is still calculated in the same way as 2.0 (speed + 800 = temperature) because that's not very accurate (from what i know - not much!) because the heat is actually generated from friction, and therefore should be calculated based on the rate at which you are slowing down, not based on your speed. The reason why i say this is that i get lower, yes LOWER temperatures when the re-entry effects are at their most extreme, which just doesn't make sense IRL, but would if the temperature was handled in the same way as 2.0 because you slow down to ~400 m/s at that time and i get temps between 1100 and 1200 degrees. Again, all from 100k to 0k (well negative something km but i don't know for sure as i don't have mechjeb or the like)
  18. I seem to be having the problems other people mentioned waaaay earlier in the thread: it not being deadly enough. At this point in time it seems that this is intentional and i'm wondering if i can get someone to confirm this for me and hopefully tell me how to edit the config to adjust this (i have no idea what the things mean). I also don't seem to be getting much G-force damage (none at all without FAR and 1-2 parts with FAR on a ~100 part ship) or any of the damage levels, am i doing something wrong with the installation or with actually reentering in the game? EDIT: should've said i'm coming in from 100k to 0k

  20. After completing the "to the mun" mission i decided that i would land on the mun... with parachutes. That didn't end well, as i'm sure you can imagine. My second mistake on the mun was trying to walk a kerbal 1/4 the way around the mun to a rescue craft, instead of having the rescue craft fly over and pick him up. (after 4 days of afk and no real distance, i decided to use the kerbal's jetpack, but ran out of fuel and the kerbal had a "hard landing" *cough* crash landing *cough* And of course the usual list of needing MOAR struts, having parachutes rip assorted bits off the spacecraft (i'm now completely paranoid about this and don't hit 500m going more than 30m/s if i can help it), not knowing about gravity turns, building rovers that actually worked better upside down etc. etc.
  21. Does it only have to be that the fairings cover the lander and not the rover for it to count because, well, let's just say that i found a use for the massive rover wheels.
