WIP - Space Kraken's Tomb Fun to draw, will be a pain to vectorise. Man, I haven't picked up pencil and paper in years, but I felt I should create a little something to celebrate (and mourn?) the loss of the Space Kraken. This took (literally) 5 minutes to draw, which shows in the quality, but quality is less of an object at this stage - I plan to acquire Photoshop (or, if you have any better suggestions, tell me) and vectorise this illustration. I'll probably do a bad job - I haven't done a single vector since 2008. So, if anyone out there has actual talent in the art of Vector, and can tell what I'm trying to create with this piece, feel free to vectorise this image. Just make sure to put my name in the corner somewhere. I may have included a certain well-known easter egg here, too, whence the spoilers. This is only a preview image, as I scanned the original at 300DPI. God I love my scanner. (By the way, I'm planning on adding all three Kerbonauts, footprints, maybe some sparks, and Jeb is meant to be poking the Kraken.) I also hope something quite like this can be added into the game as an easter egg. I mean, a memorial plaque is good and all, but Nova really should add the final resting place of the Kraken into the game (He stated that he was planning to add "a memorial" in 0.17, I believe.) I'll cautiously ask... have you tried Adblock Plus? (it DOES work in IE). Although some people have issues with it not always working (which hasn't happened to me, at least) it's generally good at skipping ads entirely. It doesn't even allow them to load on youtube - it's straight to the video.

Here's some actual, serious advice. I had this problem myself not two weeks ago, and it was fixed for me by changing the Power settings. Apparently, due to laptops having an onboard power supply as well as the ability to be directly connected, there are two different modes for being plugged in and not. Occasionally, with some programs, these settings will change a little. Fiddle around with the "plugged in" options first, to test if this fixes it, then apply them to the battery power settings. Uh, if that wasn't too hard to follow, of course.

Don't you mean, "Damn, science, you awesome!" I watched this on a slow wifi connection at TAFE, and curiously enough it only cut out after the landing was deemed a success. I liked this gif quite a lot... I may have also reacted similarly, albeit without noise. Who knows, maybe this will evolve into a dreaded reaction image?

There's actually a dial which shows your VERT SPEED (vertical speed) next to the altimeter. When landing, aim to keep the dial at between -1 and -5m/s. That way, your craft is less likely to explode on touchdown

I have seen screenshots and vaguely recall a post I cannot seem to find on a special feature of Patched Conics. Apparently, you can edit a value in one of the games' files, and it'll change the "mode" patched conics runs in. Higher numbers made for some very... interesting... screenshots. Anyhow, which file and what value is that?

The newer Sims have started getting some pretty bad music, though. That is to say, IMO. I still have SimCity 2000, and although simple, the music is great. Maybe I'm a sucker for classic games. I find that the longer a series has been running for, the worse the music generally gets, although that is probably only true half the time. I mean, I love the music in Tropico 3, but Tropico 4 seemed lackluster. -snip-
