the Star Trek challenge

Seriously this guy, http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198054621912/screenshots/?appid=220200 http://cloud-3.steampowered.com/ugc/594785045806024507/17E0C27DBC0CA23FCA1A4F740464B2A342A695C3/, whoever he is, totally won this challenge. -
I'm not sure why, but after I removed partcatalog and tried running ksp in windows again, the games loading times are way faster. Fast enough that you would want to cry between loading screens when part catalog was in. So I turned into simple part organizer for now.

amazing looking parts. congratulations.

PartCatalog RC2 is crashing the game when opening the VAB in a new save in career mode in linux version.

The Linux compatibility thread!
Beduino replied to sal_vager's topic in KSP1 Technical Support (PC, unmodded installs)
The thing is, they still work just fine in windows. Actually, if I use the linux version to redock one of these floating docked claws and then open it up in windows it will show up docked half way inside the asteroid. So it's either a bug with the claw or with the asteroid size. Well starting a brand new save in linux -

Ok took me a long time.. but im back after messing up my ubuntu installation when 14.04 came along. Im running ubuntu 14.04 x64 with 4GB RAM + 2GB swap + nvidia drivers and ksp 64 via steam with LC_ALL=C %command%_64. Still same problems with the claw after opening a save from the windows version.. some of them work.. some of them are just floating. It seems its possible to redock though. KSP runs much smoother and there's more ram available with the mods I have installed. I think i might start a new save. -

I made this Star trek inspired starbase sometime ago. -

Tried to share a save+mods with the linux version today... when i load the latest ship, docked in a asteroid.. this is the outcome. Ship seems to be floating, but it's docked. Working windows version for reference. Guess my plans with linux will have to wait. -
vessel view looks amazing on RPM.. congrats.

Looks like you will be missing me, and I do have experience working abroad. http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/58329-KSP-inspired-me-to-really-learn-orbital-mechanics Now seriously without trying to make this a political rant, you have "that guy" as your president but you cannot bring some cool engineers to work with the cool stuff? I'm not sure I would enjoy working in such conditions anyway.
-
Totally... There's no fuel actually.. You feel much more like a god than anything else. You even have a interstellar engine, but the controls are a bit more bugged than in KSP it feels.
-
For simplicity sake. Go to earths orbit. Then build a ship in orbit and take control of it. There's a button to show the orbit and one to show the ship. Now you can use the 6 directions buttons (prograde, etc) to adjust the orbit with the engines. If your orbit is not showing, it's very likely to be a hyperbolic orbit and the eccentricity e is higher than one, so just burn retrogade for a more elliptical orbit.
-
You sure about that? Physicists believe 96% of the matter is dark/unknown... so who knows what's on the other corner of the universe. Dinosaurs, right? Lol
-
No. Check the definition of cubit in wikipedia. All I'm saying is that we are going to have to show the mice our cubits before we are allowed to do anything..it feels like. A community like this one here in Ksp shows that there's a lot of great open minded people interested in space, all we lack is funding.
-
Lol totally.. Mice that measures around 1 cubit. Get it?
-
that's bad, but a quick look at the last page of the thread shows this about the malware thing. http://en.spaceengine.org/forum/17-1558-30006-16-1377735504

Why do you want to make a fusion reactor, when we already have a huge one in the sky working non stop called the Sun. Really, 99.9% of the energy generated by the sun is wasted towards empty space, if we could harness some of that energy, not sure if using solar panels or some other advanced tech but still.. Yeah I agree that having a compact fusion reactor would be great. Even nature, through photosynthesis, is closer to a type I in Kardashev scale than we tiny humans. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kardashev_scale
-
Well, it seems that ksp needs a science advisor to make it scientific feasible lol I feel that everything needs to be a little bit bigger in the kerbol system so the star would be able to sustain fusion and the planets would not be denser than any known element.
-
Lol when I read about this asteroid I remembered about this thread. http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/16_Psyche

Why is everything rotating in the universe?
Beduino replied to Kerbin Dallas Multipass's topic in Science & Spaceflight
Funny OP question. I believe there are many correct answers. If you take your time to study the Eistein´s relativity math, specially the steps showing the transformation from eistein formulas to newton physics (F=ma) in cases of smaller velocities and masses. You will see that somehow everything is related with spheres and the sphere formula. -
thanks for filling up with nice pics lol you got the new enterprise (lens flares included).. what's the addon name? I was trying the orbital controls but for some reason i find the camera control a bit funky.
-
I'm just a space enthusiast. I guess many people know about SpaceEngine, just give it a try anyway it looks superb and yesterdays release now have this. http://en.spaceengine.org/forum/20-1945-1 Wow, amazing I must try it right away.

Ow my.. it's too hard to play ksp without this mod. Thanks a million for the 0.23 support.
