  1. Good evening, fellow kerbalnauts. I am here to introduce my first successful spaceplane, created over hours and hours of work and french fries, of which I somehow managed to dock with my space station for its maiden voyage.
  2. Does that mean that the spacecraft or module is safely landed onto anywhere on Kerbin or does it mean it must land at the KSC again and recovered there only? EDIT: I guess there isn't really any need for anymore explanations now. Thank you all for answering!
  3. It could be that command pods have some RCS units in them now (which may be causing the change in weight problem in recent threads), but I can't say for sure.
  4. Technically, I have killed 3 Kerbals so far. That was from forgetting to place a probe module on a habitat module near my space station during its docking stage. I didn't know what the heck went wrong, I thought it was a bug, so I went to the Tracking Station and reselected the module. I finally found out I forgot a probe module, so I decided to make a basic reset and destroy the module in the Tracking Station. Then I flew it back up (with a probe module attached) and docked. Is that legal? Anyhoo, I never EVER leave a Kerbal stranded. Once I accidentally put Jeb on EVA during a burn and left him on a high eccentric orbit, so before getting any further I turned the ship back towards him and matched velocities so he could use the RCS pack to fly back to the Mun base ship. I also bring more fuel than I will need, because said rule above.
  5. Took me roughly 82 hours or so. Yeah, maybe we learn slow.
  6. He's on the site of a Mun base in mine. Luckily, he hasn't gotten into much trouble... yet.
  7. Several times I've tried to get a base on the Mun, each time I forgot to quicksave, so what happened? I had to keep docking the same antenna over and over and over again with the base module. It was becoming tiresome, but that's when I realized, "Wow, I really docked this same thing over and over again? Give yourself a pat on the back, me, you've done some good docking." I've used a tug to transport 4 fuel tanks to their docking ports on a station, whereas it became harder due to the fact that it became unbalanced as each fuel tank docked. It was hard, but I had fun.
  8. To solve for the controls problem, I feel that a joystick configuration would work best (but if you've got an iPad keyboard, then I guess it could be toggled?) I mean, sensitivity wouldn't be much of a problem considering that torque decides on the rotation of the craft. And a virtual joystick would negate the use of the capslock key for fine tuning rotation because of the joystick's ability to fine-tune its movements? (To put into words, push joystick towards edge of control pad to get full torque in whatever direction pushed towards, push lightly and keep near center for lower torque in any direction.) I'm not sure about docking though. tl;dr Use a joystick configuration.
  9. I've finally accomplished going to another celestial object besides the Mun! I'll be posting an album of my journey tomorrow (hopefully, but if not, wait for the next day as I am certain I will post one). Good night everyone and have a safe flight!
  10. For me, it follows as this: 1. New Update, up all night to get hooky. 2. Jesus christ, I can't do anything 3. I want to get to Minmus, but I don't have the time to do it. 4. MORE MUN MISSIONS. 5. Sinking down into the pithes of despthair. 6. Quit and play TF2. 7. Update? UPDATE?! UPDATE!!!! But yeah, that's how it goes.
  11. Adjustable suspension? That might have already been suggested, or it may be on the "What not to suggest" list, but just put it up there. And we need a camera for unmanned rovers and with it we can adjust the angle of the camera by use of the IJKL keys (once activated). -Lone K.
  12. Two days ago when I was on a return trajectory to Kerbin from the Mun (after collecting much needed SCIENCE!), I accelerated time warp up to its maximum, and guess what? I shot straight through the planet, and I was obviously surprised. So I just made sure next time to not set it to 100000x time warp when in Kerbin's SOI, or any planet or celestial body for that matter.
  13. Motivation is a big set-back for me. I love playing this game, honestly, but I don't want to put the effort into trying to plan a whole interplanetary mission step-by-step. I can dock, I can get to the Mun (good thing, too), and I can build planes, but I can't build SSTO crafts, though.
  14. He is currently having his own personal time while Bob and Bill take care of missions. Jeb bravely took 5 missions straight into his own hands and is also currently helping design a VTOL plane and only using lander-grade landing gear. The awesome Kerbal as he is.
  15. Without struts and large fuel tanks, I resort to having to improvise a lot. It's a very big learning experience (career mode), and I like that a lot.
  16. They'll probably still make more parts, as there are clearly more things defined in the "Planned Features" thread.
  17. What would happen if a spacecraft lands back on Kerbin safely? Would those parts that have been salvaged be, essentially, "free" parts? Like, let's say I recover a Fly-by spacecraft and it lands on Kerbin without harm (excluding boosters and the like, but I'll assume those are part of the sub-assembly topic you covered), would those parts of the spacecraft (that were recovered) act as resources, and as such you can use them again without cost?
  18. Oh man, the first time I docked... It was amazing. Now it's a skill to me, and it's that feeling that you get every time.
  19. I have a station, the K.S.S. as I have named it, orbiting at the 155 km mark. It is equipped with a fuel module and a habitation module. It will serve as an interplanetary mission pit-stop for the time being until I get a fueling station up at the 200 km altitude. I also have a second station sitting near the 100 km mark, the I.C.O.S. I call it. The station is mainly for SSTO missions across Kerbin, or as a fueling station for probe missions. Depending on where you place your station, they can serve different purposes. Circular orbits are easy to intercept, as it does not require you to have specific rendezvous windows and it's just generally easier to perform. Don't make elliptical orbits. You'll regret ever doing that, as I have. The parts used can also change their uses. For example: a station with no habitation module but is equipped with many solar panels and fuel canisters are usually refueling stations. Stations with a few habitation modules, 2 or 3, are mostly science centers. And blah blah and so on. Don't take much of my advice, I'm not very experienced here, but do consider it.
  20. If you're ship is wobbling, use the nonphysical time warp. This freezes all physics and stops the wobbling.
  21. Do you have any mods installed? If so, remove them from your KSP plugin folder (or wherever you place the mods) and then reinstall KSP. It should work, hopefully.
  22. The green marker that you speak of is your Retrograde node. This is the node that points out where you should burn (fire your rockets) towards in order to decrease your velocity (your speed and direction). The yellow node is the Prograde node, which points out what direction you should fire your rockets towards to increase your velocity. Your node is probably moving because you're accelerating in a different direction rather than 'up' or 'down'. Depending on which side it moves to, if it's the retrograde node, then that is the direction opposite of your current velocity. Hope this helped! Just to note: the blue hemisphere of the navball points in the direction of 'up'. The orange hemisphere of the navball is in the direction of 'down'. If your retrograde node is in the center of the orange side, then you're moving upwards, and vise versa with the blue side. When the nodes move to the equatorial line of the navball (the center line between the hemispheres), then you're moving horizontally. If this sounds too complicated, here's an image that was not made by me to help you:
  23. No debris has crashed into me yet :U I hope I don't jinx myself like that.
