It still looks as if the lights are hovering in mid air though -
Math is for scientists!

Thanks for your opinions. I'll keep it up like that until I don't have fun anymore then -
So......career mode

as far as I understand it right now: You can do Crew Reports with kerbals in the capsul You can do EVA Reports when your kerbals are outside of the capsul You can get soil parts when outside of the capsul and on ground You can do Experiments (with the blob canister or other things later on) If you transfer it, you get less science points, but you can do the science again. So best seems to be: Do everything in flight, transfer. Do everything in orbit, transfer. do everything after landing, recover the lander. Then do it over again and land in a different area (ice, snow, sand, water, mountains,...) to get different results from experiments. It's a bit too grindy imho. But nice -
Hi! I read a lot of sciency stuff on the forums here regarding kerbals. How much delta vatever and how big rockets have to be and how long to to do this and where to do that... I never did any calculations at all. I also don't use any mods (except KAS pipes and struts which are nice but nearly never used it to do something besides a refill test) And I have gotten probes to the mun, minimus, eve and duna and did a lot of docking on my station. And returned savely from minimus and the mun, but looking at how easylie I landed on duna, I think I can possibly also return from there with a small orbitting tank station. Anyway... I didn't find those things very hard. Most things worked in the first try, some failed because of small design flaws on my vessels. My Question now is: Can I keep going on like that? Or will I hit a point, where just playing around won't work anymore? I can see that getting home from eve can be a huge challenge. and getting to the outer planets too. But with a small gravity swing even the outer planets should be reachable by just eating your way through the different orbits of other planets. Thanks for your opinion

I landed on Duna and raced around it with my rover!.... kind of....

I docked my unmaned lander to the space station to be filled up for a long range trip. The tank was empty and the tank on the station is now empty too, so i dumped it with a little left into the kerbish sea and will fly up with two others soon.

Love the eve cloud idea and the video looks aaaawesome! WORK FASTER AND RELEASE IT! *whiplash* -
Finished my new spacestation and transfered the additional fuel tank from the old one to the new one: then proceded to force the old one out of orbit with the rescue capsul for the crew and watered the rescue capsul and safely destroying the old station. It was a good day

that looks nice! -
I had a disastreus new Spacestation launch: didn't get it in a right orbit, forgott parts I needed on it and nearly killed 2 kerbals! But I got them watered alive so it's fine. Back to the drawing board though.

For your question 2: Yesterday I docked in less than 5 minutes on my kerbal space station. From Launch. My tips on how to do it (without mods, I'm also no fan of mods): If you turn, disable RCS: It won't change your flight direction anymore Use the Navball: I don't even look at the ships anymore for docking, I just use the navball when I'm close. How I do it: Target the dockingport you whant to dock to, steer from your own docking port (basic) align the target (magenta) your trajectory (yellow) and your ship (orange middle horizon thingy) and that's it. If one of this things isn't lined up, you have to correct. If the target is more up, your ship has to get more up. If the trahectory isn't on the target, change your trajectory. if your ship isn't pointing on the target and/or the flight direction: turn it into the right direction If you start ignoring the screen on docking and focus on the navball, it gets sooo much easier! Hope that helps

Poll: Kerbal Space Program's Mun Landers
Leberschnitzel replied to AncientAstronaut's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
I only failed my first trip there: 2 of my kerbals got stuck there without enough return fuel. But I've sent an lander to get them back! I got a video of the landing of the rescue mission: I wasn't that good "back than" (2 weeks ago) with aiming, so I landet pretty far away from them. But they made it with the jetpack. Well... at least one made it... the other one smashed his head on a rock because he was too fast :-| But the other one came back happy! -
I tested refueling on minimus. It wasn't necessary, I just wanted to check how to get a tank there. Landed ~150m from the original target, drove the rest with my rover based lander (that was scary!) but I made it and tested the refuel process and it worked like a charm I'm no fan of mods, but this one adds a nice realistic use to EVAs! Only thing I want to disable and don't know yet: I don't want to be able to grab everything and put it somewhere else. That's not so awesome. I should plan it in before or else be punished with simply not having the part. Anyone knows how I could do that? otherwise I'll ask in the mod thread. I just have the struts and the pipe of this mod installed, because I think both thinks are great additions to the game without making it too much easier or being too unrealistic in the kerbaverse.

How do you attach YOUR rover?
Leberschnitzel replied to aimeilian's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
Mine is also modfree btw -
I learned, that low gravity is no friend of rovers but kerbals can headbutt fliped rovers back on its wheels. But I will build a hoverboard instead now.
