Yes, the node hold is bad: in fact, I'm not sure it even uses PID at all. But they can probably fix it. Or you can learn to fly the darn thing yourself... I didn't learn to fly with attitude hold, I learned to fly by the stars! (Seriously, though, I'm not kidding. I did not understand the navball at all, and would spend a minute and a half just figuring out which way to burn to go in the right direction. Those were the days.)

I use Kaspersky. I found out that Kaspersky is a Russian program. The next computer antivirus I install will not be Kaspersky.

This is very strange... Save it under a different name, stick the stock gear on I-Beams, and see if THAT rolls. If it doesn't, it's not the gear, if it does, it's the gear.

"To scale-ish" is a bit of an overstatement... What happened to the Sun and the inner (or outer) planets?! I'd suggest picking a "unit per pixel" measurement (You might need a 10,000 x 100,000 pixel image. Or not, if you want small representations a few pixels across) and basing both location and scale off of that.
