  1. Well, that\'s my original rocket, i tried to make something small that could get into orbit without big fuel consumption. Well, it hasn\'t just get into kerbin orbit, but landed on the mun... I was really impressed. Sorry for posting this rocket in the wrong topic... So, here\'s my replica to R-7 8K72 'Vostok' rocket. Works great in KSP. The biggest disadvantage of this rocket, that SAS can\'t fully take care of controlling the rocket. But soviet russia don\'t need no got damn SAS modules! You have to control rocket with RCS during first stage all the time. You can check how original looks in Attachments.
  2. I should try to re-create this rocket.
  3. that\'s just too complicated. It should be another game, called Kerbal Puppet Program.
  4. I\'ve made a nice small rocket that is capable of landing on mun and orbiting it. I present to you Insect-class rocket, Luxury Slug I. Well, after kerz of tries to land on the mun, i\'ve finally managed to do it with this nice little fancy rocket. No .cfg files were editied in progress of building it.
  5. well, my radial chutes worked a little bit... wrong. So here\'s the pic of what happened.
  6. So, today i\'ve built a trully kerbal rocket, this rocket is so kebral that it can explode even if you are flying it right, and sometimes it won\'t explode even if you are flying it wrong. Here are some pics: And as a bonus, here\'s the pic of the rocket not just running into the land or water, but exploding!
  7. there\'s just not enough struts, let me show you how they should be placed. Oh, and you should also place some lander legs, for more stability. So, they should be placed like this: I haven\'t tried to re-create and test it yet, but i have a couple of similar rockets, and this system always works well. At least my rockets don\'t fall apart on the launchpad.
  8. lol, that was just epic. Usually every time i crash into launchpad tower, my capsule end up laying on top of it, or falling of it and blowing up in the doom of boosters\' avesomeness. Though, here are few pics that i\'ve taken at the end of my flight on a spaceBird to the mun:
  9. you should use radial decouplers & struts, it\'ll fix that issue. Well, at least for me it worked, with help of radial decouplers & struts i can attach huge SRBs or just Liquid fuel tanks to the sides of my rocket without any trouble
  10. yeah, rockets that were built totally of vanilla parts look pretty much same.
  11. i find your good lack of a good ponies of a good show of testosterone.
  12. When i was landing my spaceplane, my orbit\'s Apokee was 100 km, and Periapsis was 60 km. Everytime when i reached atmosphere, Periapsis was slowly decreasing, it tool quite a long time(12 or so orbits) before air broke my orbit completely, and then i\'ve landed on water and started to sail.
  13. Getting there is possible, but we\'ll need like 1 000 000x warp, cause it\'s gonna take forever.
  14. Of course i do want, but i\'m leaving now, will be back in 1 hour.
  15. I got some pictures laying around how i orbited the mun for the first time, so here it is!
  16. We should post an idea about the mini map to suggestion forum
  17. WARNING!Lots of screenshots. This spaceplane\'s codename is SpaceBird-X(because of wings)38. It has enough fuel to fly to the mun and back, and even escape kerbin gravitation, but the furhest point this plane can get to is orbit around the sun.
  18. Solar panels can\'t make fuel from nothing. They\'re used for charging up batteries to keep all the electronic system working. Same thing about oxygen.
  19. So, i\'ve built Big Poppa IV for mun shots before the mun update was released, but when i tried to shoot for mun, Project 'Big Poppa' was too powerfull... recently i\'ve changed the payload for deep space travells(put smaller but much more efficient enginies). So, rocket could get me out of kerbin gravitation with little effort, outside the kerbin gravitation field the payload should reach escape velocity via orbiting the sun. Here are some pics of the rocket: So, these four huge SRB\'s get my rocket above 15 km, where i have to decouple them, to prevent the explosion. Then. the main enginie with three fuel tanks speeds up my rocket to escape velocity, when the fuel is out- i release the payload, get to periapsis point, set my thurster to 100%, set warp time to 2x, and wait untill the fuel is out.Pics: Using low-powered enginies is very efficient.Pics of me increasing the orbit: when the fuel of the 2\'nd stage is out, i\'ve decoupled it, and here\'s the last and the easiest stage, that pushed me out of solar system: Kerbals that agreed to fly were kamikazes anyway... I don\'t really think they\'re going to survive just having a chute, almost ion weak enginie, and a pod. But hey, that\'s a step into right direction!Today Command pod made it out of solar system, next time- it\'s going to be a spaceship, later- the whole stations will be increasing their orbit to make it out of solar system. P.S. i haven\'t editied cfg files, i\'ve used Challenger pack, Probodobodyne, And some of vanilla parts.
  20. I guess i\'ve made escape rocket by accident, when i tried to make a rocket that had to take payloads to the mun. I\'ll test it out and tell you whether i managed to escape or not.
  21. first of all, we need a device to track jettisoned stages and their orbits, some kind of little SRB module sized thing that track orbit of what it\'s attached to.
  22. Here\'s the tiny orbital station for taking photos and providing internet for the kerbonauts while on moon.
  23. yep, that\'s nova\'s pack. Very useful for building small and nice payloads.
  24. After millions of tries, i realised that slingshooting 'Big Poppa' is only good for deep space expiditions. \'Cause it as agile as a brick, and packs huge power, i had to make more agile and less powerfull, more balanced rocket. So here it is, Project 'Tough Uncle': It took 48 days(i\'m pretty lame at mun catching) of orbiting around kerbin before i had enough luck, and on the day 49 i managed to touch the mun\'s gravitation, and return back to kerbin orbit. BUT! on day 50 i had even more luck, and got caught up into circular mun orbit pretty well. Oh, and the payload wasn\'t meant to land on the moon, it was just designed for orbiting. I\'ll make landing version of a payload when i\'ll figure out how to get to the moon with less fuel consumption.
