I just recently started a new game and for the first time decided to install scatterer and EVE. I was just about to launch a satellite when I noticed a black shadow moving across Kerbin. I figured this was an eclipse since that's what they do in the real world (I also have that mod that makes the moon slightly inclined so that eclipses are rarer). Unforutanetly, the shadow was passing just a little north of ksc so that I wouldn't have gotten totality, so I quickly built a plane and attempted to follow the shadow. It was faster than me, but I got very close to totality and managed to stay within the shadow for about 20 minutes. Bonus end of the eclipse:

I used to always play with resource mods, and I still play with karbonite, so practically nothing has changed for me

If there were no limits - what would you make?

I know this isn't really the place for mod suggestion, but you can build a place to launch rockets and stuff from orbit with Extra planetary launchpads... Also, add another one to my list: Ability to never run out of RAM. -

A space station that goes all the way around Kerbin. -
I should of caught it too, I just finished my exams!
-
Didn't even catch that, thanks!
-
Yes, you probably should. At least don't get hyperedit, learn the basics first.

Well, I had about the same problem as you, and when I bough the game, there was no career, so I couldn't even play with that. In one of my last resorts I tried to put a rover on the Mun (which crashed in a fiery ball of death), which entertained me until I succeeded. After that though, I almost gave up, but decided to try docking once. It took a long LONG time to dock my first thing (I would not let myself watch a video or use tutorials) and I ended up making a space station. That got me into the game, but I'm sure it's different for everyone. I advice trying to land on the Mun and Minmus, make a rover, a plane, and yes, make a space station!
-
Ill fix that. And yes Fengist, those are alright. Also, sorry guys, I had to leave for a few days, I'm back for a while now though! - - - Updated - - - Nice! I'll add you to the leader board! However, I'll take off the 5 points for landing at the other runway, otherwise people would just go back and forth... but what is five points to that score! - - - Updated - - - Yes, those are fine. Also, sorry guys, I had to leave for a few days, I'm back for a while now though!

Nice job so far!
-
Yeah, the only problem with the launchpad is that there is a light right beside it, which caused problems until I turned on my kerbal's light. And it actually took a bit of time to get those shots, buildings kept getting in the way!

Welcome to the challenge!

No field of view zoom, just accidentally broke the launch pad in my career game and noticed that it looked like the Mun, so I did it again in sandbox and went about it like it was a normal mun trip!

Yes, it does, I'll go ahead and add that into the challenge specs.
-
Yep, that's all good! As long as it's not cheaty, I'm happy! EDIT: Didn't even see your question, sorry about that. Add 5 points if you land at a Kerbin-side runway!

One morning at KSC, Gene, Mortimer, and Walt Kerman were discussing their contract to put a kerbal on the Mun. The conversation went as follows: Gene: "We have got to get a kerbal on the Mun guys. So, I think we should launch Octan one again..." Mortimer: "Nope, that is too much money for Jeb to wreck again. Cant do that" Gene: "Then lets just send Bill" Mortimer: "When I say we don't have enough money I mean we have 0 funds." Walt: "We could just accept a bunch of contracts and use their advance..." Gene: "No, we have too many accepted contracts." Mortimer: "Then I guess we are done for." Suddenly, everyone in the room, and probably everyone on Kerbin, hear a massive explosion from outside. Mortimer: "What the Dres!?" Walt: *Looks outside in terror* Gene: "Guys, it's probably just Jeb. I'll call someone." Gene (on the phone): "Hey, what just happened?" Phone Guy: "Ah, just Jeb. He blew up the launchpad." Gene: "Jeb blew up the launch pad guys." Walt: "Man, that will hurt our rep." Mortimer: "No no, wait. I have an idea." Several hours later: Awesome challenge by the way, loved it!

Forgot to mention, if someone just felt like making a signature thing that says you participated or you're a KAPE or something like that so that anyone who participated gets one, that'd be cool!
-
Welcome to the KAPE challenge! Are you a Kerbal Ace Plane Engineer(KAPE)? Do you want to try an become one? The KAPE challenge is created to put your plane building to ultimate test. You must build a plane that flies under 20000 meters and overcomes the following challenges: You want the heaviest, longest flying, land-able, fastest, furthest flying plane out there. You will be scored as shown below: -Weight: 1 point for each ton = base score. Weight is weight in space plane hanger, \so what your plane looks like in the hanger is what your plane looks like when you land. -Time: Each minute your plane flew, add a point to your base score. -Land-able: If you landed your plane at the ksc runway and used no parachutes to land, add 6 points to base score, if you landed at the island runway or a Kerbin side airbase, add 5 points to your score, and if you landed using parachutes or off of the run way, add 3 points to your base score. If you crash landed, but your kerbals survived, add 1 point to base score. -Speed: Every 100 meters a second you go, add a point. (EX. If your fastest speed was 510m/s, you get 5.1 points for speed) -Kerbals: +.5 for every kerbal -Distance: +1 for each 1000(km) meters traveled -Circumnavigation: +25 for each circumnavigation of Kerbin Now that you know the scoring, how about requirements and rules? -You MUST provide photo evidence of your flight, including f3 menu after the flight has ended, 2 in flight pictures, 1 picture of landed plane, and 1 picture of your plane in the Spaceplane hanger. If you crash landed(Your ship came apart, but your kerbal survived) add 5 points to your score. -No overpowered mods(More on this in Mods section) -No f12(debug) menu -No cheating -You must land your plane -You may use mods, but you will go on the modded leader board(Again, more on this in the Mods section). -MUST stay under 20000 meters Now what about mods? -You may use any mod that does not alter game play and still be on the stock leader board. And example of this is KER -You may use mods such as FAR, KWrocketry, B9aerospace, Kerbal Aircraft Expansion, B9 Procedural wings and Adjustable Landing Gears, MK2 expansion, LLL, Firespitter etc... (I will keep this updated) -NO modding parts to produce tons of lift, thrust, or ISP -NO hyperedit -NO mods like hyperedit -If you are unsure if you are able to use a mod, ask me first My own entry is below: 85 tons = 8.5 points 188m/s = 1.88 point crash landed = 1 point 56000 meters traveled = 5.6 points 3 kerbals = 1.5 points 7.42 minutes = 7.42 points Total: 25.9 points Yes, I could of done better on my entry, but planes are just not my thing. Stock leader board: 1: BlueCanary: 3975 points 2: 3: 4: 5: Modded leader board: 1: 2: 3: 4: 5: Have fun guys!

Well, I have a thread for this but, here goes anyways. I present Vrudon base: Pretty small as of yet, but that just leaves room for expansion!
-
So, I have been playing my career for quite some time now, and I recently made a small Minmus base, so I though I might share it and Update it every now and then here. So, without further ado, I present Vrudon base: If you would like any more info, tell me in the comments! Also, whenever add to the base, I'll update it here, which will most likely come in the next week or so. AAANNDD, if anyone noticed, the refinery is missing a poodle engine on the bottom... why? Well, you see, I forgot landing legs (yes, AGAIN ) so once again, I rammed the engine into the ground, though if you notice, The landing legs STILL are not on the ground, but I managed to make some other enines that are completely useless, as I never used them. All in all, a very, very Kerbal error (And one that I make a lot )
