  1. I thought it's an age of IT and it's written quite clear - Mits/s. Ok you can add 'b' to be more clear - Mbits/s. Maybe it's not a bit in Kerbal Universe but definitely an it. So once more - antennas through-output is calculated in mega its per second.
  2. I would say - not "doing a lot of science" but have a huge amount of electric power. But even then you might just use two or more low consumption "Communotron 16". So that's a design issue not a performance (note that even mass is not competitive).
  3. Not suggesting to practice this but if your docking ports are not aligned (which happens very often) and ships are rather small you can still dock them. Just collide (aka dock) the ships with docking ports. They wouldn't dock as the ships are not in line but keep pressure and try to gently rotate. Both ships will rotate to the needed side and ports will dock. That's some desperate maneuver when docking su..ed to the death. But quite effective.
  4. Currently I'm running tests for my Jool mission on Kerbin. I've hit a wall in my rover test at ~23m/s and both Kerbals stayed in the seats. Also they were happy in lander/launcher at ~3G. I suppose main issue is side force. Kerbals should be able to sit tight to high G if you keep it straight. You might try rotating seats to the rover center _/_\_ and have a roof. Would be interesting if this helps.
  5. For Duna mission ships docking I was not using RCS at all. SAS was enough for this and that was ~30t ship.
  6. So no fun in collision I would try quicksave/load just before encounter course correction. For example 3km - just before physics load or 2km - just after physics load. If you bypass just tens of meters you should be able to correct the course.
  7. 1. You must definitely drive one of those ships for physics to take effect. 2. Throw away MechJeb. 3. Try for over a day and a half
  8. Who is in charge of your ship? I mean from four docking ports and command capsule(s). I suppose there might be some issues with SAS if you will use side docking port in command.
  9. Isn't Mk25 already opened? As I remember it is in some of the first steps of career mode. You can add Mk25 to slowdown before Mk16 opens.
  10. I've attached few Ion probes to my Jool mission ship. Few more kg wouldn't mind to those 100t. Thinking of dropping them somewhere in the path.
  11. What is that? I didn't experience anything unusual hitting water with the rover.
  12. Finally. Thank you for the craft. Closeup on the lander would be preferred but this will do too. For the Sirine - there are people like me who will never download crafts, have never opened stock prebuild ones but will always share ideas of craftmanship.
  13. That is a question to be answered - Does a decouplers weight + leg weight traveled some distance like to Eve or Jool substitute just leg weight + it's ascent from alien planet?
  14. I say "gear" because the button is called this way. You don't need action group for that - it's 'G'.
  15. There was a thread a few days ago about LV-N usage 1 vs 2 or more and here I see 6-9 I'm perfectly fine with 1 everywhere I go. I would suggest to think of FL-T tanks and asparagus design if cosmic waste is not a problem.
  16. It would be nice to open a new space center in Career mode.
  17. You can pull the gear up and then down. This is the way to pull the legs out of the sand if this is the problem. Also EVA can fix it if it's broken.
  18. In this case I know the mod with quite nice propeller specially for the water.
  19. Any ideas on building an engine for a boat from the STOCK parts? I know that propulsion will work in all cases but I am thinking of something not so expendable. Lets say send boat to Laythe oceans with no possibility to refuel. Electricity works fine with wheels but wheels does no good in water (didn't test them all). Ion engines looks promising but produces very low trust and even with that low speed gigantor solar panels does not feel good in low atmosphere.
  20. KAS mod has some attachments which does not make craft as one.
  21. Would it be possible to reach Mun's sphere of influence with only jet engines? Meaning you should precisely pull up your apoapsis from atmosphere to reach it. This way you wouldn't need additional engines to pull up periapsis as it will be changed by gravity assist of the Mun. But I'm afraid you'll need much more than jets maximum 2400m/s (+174.53m/s Kerbin rotation).
  22. - too high center of mass; - might be wider rover; - lock steering of middle wheels; - use capslock for slow steering; - drive slow; - use physic time warp to go fast; drive safe p.s. In such design you could put all rover parts below deck. This way you would have low center of mass and plain deck for some cargo (or 20 kerbals )
  23. 1. You can transfer fuel later in the orbit manually. 2. You can attach "FTX-2 External Fuel Duct" to flow fuel to your shuttle during launch. (I would prefer this way) 3. Engines can be rotated by mounting them on the girder segment which is fuel transfer capable. Try "Cubic Octagonal Strut"
