I think all you can do here is to use HyperEdit's landing cheat to stop her movement. Not sure about how to fix this in stock.
-
Damn. Is this the end of your saga?...
Brotoro, if you have a backup of .90 around, I wouldn't mind if you continued your story in it instead of updating.
-
A can of worms is good; it's a good bait for fishing!
Lame jokes(and funny aneurisms) aside, I agree on how there needs to be a thermal warning. For now I'm going to be playing without heating.
-
Also, Commissioner Tadpole, you are SO pessimistic, lol......
Heh, I just got used to some mods waiting a long time to update.
-
I currently have a rover on Eve. It has thermometers, so I think I can check.
On the other hand, I have collected data on Duna's temperature. And, well...
233 degrees!
(And apparently, Bartdred and Jonfal expected Duna to be steaming hot...)

I had my disappear in flight once so far, but when I switched back to the Space Center my money was all there still. So I am also thinking its some kind of graphical bug. I wasn't sure if it was a stock bug or Kerbel Alarm Clock, which I also use to jump between ships.
Suffered the same. This bug dates back to 0.25, actually. Was in an expedition, reverted, and when I viewed my money and reputation in-flight, they were reset to zero. But as soon as I accomplished a contract or went back to KSC it would reset itself to normal.

Played since late 2013, have 600+ hours under my belt. Planes feel drastically easier for me in new aero; back in the souposphere I could barely fly them. Rockets... they're a bit tricky now but still can do it. Unfortunately I'm still doing it wrong as getting to orbit required 6100m/s of Delta-V for me.

- 48h money back warranty (void if engine was started)
If I try to start the engines but they fail to do so, would I still have the warranty, considering they never started at all?
-
I would say... very carefully. I haven't done an ore scan of Gilly yet, but with 1.0, running out of fuel isn't a huge concern any more. I would think, that in order to stay on the ground while drilling that KAS grappling hooks would be a very good thing. I used them on an airship recently and they do a great job of keeping you planted on the surface. Beyond that, keeping pointed in the direction you want to go would be the biggest challenge.
One thought I just had, instead of RCS to keep you on the ground, how about Ions pointed downward?
Oooh, nice idea! Didn't even think of the ion engines. I guess I should start planning a new Eve mission, then.

Sorry if it was talked about earlier on, but if I add this mod to an already-existing save file, how can I give ribbons to Kerbals in such save which have already conquered feats?
And a first male in space, if a female kerbal was first. Nut, nice idea. I will see what I can do.I don't think you should do that; to have a "first female Kerbal in space" ribbon would imply female Kerbals are less capable than male ones, and having the same ribbon for male Kerbals would be redundant. It's your call, though.
-
Good luck working on this; I missed this mod so much.
-
It appears there is a problem with KIS and Female Kerbals: When they leave the Capsule for an EVA, they just bounce off, and are not affected by Gravity. Removing KIS seems to have solved this bug for me. Maybe you people want to check and confirm/disprove this.
Original Bugreport: http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/117599-Valentina-being-flung-off-when-eva-d
Oh no. I currently have a Female Kerbal in a Duna expedition. She's in a habitation module using KIS parts, too. So until this mod is properly updated(which will likely take a looong time; I estimate around July), she's stuck within the craft.
At least there are 5 other Kerbals to keep her company, I guess.

I wonder if Danny2462 will mess with this.

That is crazy and a little shocking to me....would think with the amount changed for 1.0 this would be totally inoperable without an update. Just out of curiosity did either of you look for errors being generated while testing? How bad is it spamming the log? A rather durable bit of code ya got there!
Can NOT however agree with the Commish'....I got to have the big map! =P
Admittely, I never peeked at the log... you'll have to do it yourself.
And to each his/her own, I guess. I personally like Big Map due to its' details, but it just lags too much to the point that I almost always use Small Map.
One think I didn't like about the new resource scanning system. I don't like the instascan. I can understand it took too long to scan planets when requiring it to do the orbits. But seems to me that that could have been solved by just using a wider scan beam to do it in fewer orbits. Now it makes no sense to use a polar orbit when it can instantly scan the whole planet from any point in it's orbit.Actually, you need to be at a 100% polar orbit for the scanner to work. Any less than 100% and it won't even activate. I didn't like this feature, RoverDude.

You know, despite being the smallest body in KSP, I think the hardest place to pull this off is Gilly.
The challenge states that you're not supposed to stay for too long out of the ground, and if Gilly likes to do something, it is to keep things out of its ground. Rovers are worthless there, and walking on EVA would likely count as flying(due to how such Kerbal would go into a sub-orbital trajectory), not to mention it would take a long time. Going by RCS and staying near the ground might work, but you'd run out of propellant quickly.
I'm really curious how to pull off an Elcano on Gilly. What do you say, Fengist?

This will be handy for facilitating travel to my Duna outpost.
But, has it been confirmed to work at 1.0?
-
- you acknowledge that simply using HyperEdit to re-enter an atmosphere at ludicrous speed is a cop-out and will receive fewer awesomeness points.
Am I allowed to HyperEdit a craft into orbit and then manually go into a reentry trajectory instead?
-
Well, What can I say? "Too bad"? Because, When I clicked image icon. It asked me for URL. I only know photobucket will give me url. I don't even have personal website to storage my image at. So, I'll keep use photobucket site til then.
You can get image URLs by right-clicking an image and selecting so. Then paste it(CTRL+V or right-click>paste) on the URL Box.

Celsius or Kelvin?
KSP doesn't specify temperature. Just says 233° without a temperature unit. But if it's in Celsius, then Duna's apparently hot enough to boil water. No wonder it's dry...
-
Heh, after proving that getting to orbit does not mean burning straight up until you're out of the atmosphere, KSP now proves that space is not cold, and that it can be hot as hell.
But do thermometers display an actual craft heat? I have a science lab on Duna's surface with a thermometer, and for whatever reason it reads 233°, and at night. I'm fairly sure Duna's temp is -30°.

I hope you can get this to work; I'd love to visit the Red Hypergiant system someday!
-
actually rockets are easier now in this update, the one good part of it I just hate the fact that rotors and SSTOs appear to be meganerfed.
I have yet to try a SSTO. I did build one though, but I had to leave before flying it since I had to go to school.
I'll try it now I guess.
-
I find it strange that people can't get to orbit anymore; I did it on my first try. Planes also perform much better than in the souposphere. I'm loving 1.0!
The only things that irritate me are that getting precisely equatorial or polar orbits are challenging(due to craft wobble) and resource scanning requires a 100% polar orbit.

Kerbal Engineer Redux (KER) and Kerbal Alarm Clock (KAC) are two I consider must haves, you can customize KER if you get Too Much Information syndrome, and KAC is great for when you go interplanetary. A lot of mods haven't been updated to 1.0 yet, so I would only download mods that have [1.0] in the title. RoverDude has many part & plugin packs that will help with base building. I would also recommend SCANsat when it comes out for 1.0. You might want to wait on mods if you just got the game, you will get more out of mods if you have played stock for a while, and know the in's and out's of the game. If you plan on getting lots of mods, get CKAN.
SCANSat still works for 1.0, the only problem is that Big Map has been corrupted in the transition. So you'll have to rely on Small Map, which fortunately still works perfectly.
Camera Shake - Do you use it?

Exactly what I was thinking. It makes sense when you're launching with a ton of Mainsails or Kerbodyne's engines, travelling at Mach 2 with turbojet engines, crashing into the surface(and buildings), or suffering re-entry. Doesn't make much though outside of these circumstances.
Nevertheless, I like it, so I toned it down to 0.7.
