  1. Actually our technology would support building one on Mars the only issue would be getting it to Mars.
  2. Actually I use Minmus as my world for screwing around. With its low gravity and its proximity to Kerbin it enables unrealistic projects to take place in sandbox. Also to counter your argument on it being too easy it does require some skill to get there compared to the mun which has no inclination. Flying to Minmus becomes more guess work then anything for a beginner that doesn't factor in inclination which is something I didn't factor in.
  3. Actually Kerbals can be quite violent. There’s been a considerable amount of controversy status of Eeloo as being a proper planet or just a lump of ice going around the sun. The debate is still ongoing, as most academic summits held to address the issue have devolved into, on good days, petty name calling, and on worse ones, all-out brawls.  Kerbal Astronomical Society
  4. I believe we are going to see contracts from various companies with rather humorous names with distinct logos asking us to perform varying space missions such as satellite launches or surface samples from various planets. I doubt we are going to see or see many aircraft related missions. If anything the contract is more of an end requirement and I bet the fun part is getting it to where it has to go.
  5. I've only been to Dres once legit with a probe and I've never made it to Eeloo without cheating. I'm going to have to say Dres is more lonely. Not only is it skipped by most space programs but there is nothing there that we know of and it feels like a large version of the Mun.
  6. I like the idea as something Squad might release in update 0.30 when space stations and maybe surface bases serve some purpose then having a lot of people present could help.
  7. The main reason against procedural generated solar systems is they don't want players to travel to a different solar system and say "hey have you been to planet x". Friend replies "Planet x? I've never even seen that but I have planet y." It creates a bit of an odd situation and Easter eggs couldn't be implemented
  8. This could be implemented after .24 as an additional contract/mission which results in a science bonus if you land in a specific biome which could prove if the Astronomy dept's initial analyze was correct.
  9. Biggest advice is to go to Minmus and work on docking there. Everything is much easier and slower for those that struggle with docking it is where I built my first station. Fuel requirements are low and there is no risk of falling into the atmosphere.
  10. Mine is obviously one way missions I have yet to rescue my Duna manned mission in a bizarre orbit when it was trying to get back to its transfer stage. Really messed that one up.
  11. You sir are amazing! I think everybody on the forums would download these craft.
  12. I made one into a Minmus orbit station. I didn't really use it but it makes sense to have especially if you are far from Kerbin.
  13. At 10,000 metres I make a 45 degree turn heading at 90 degrees. If my ship ways a lot or it doesn't have very good thrust then my turn isn't as steep.
  14. Could I build the whole thing in orbit then bring it down?
  15. Depending on how good your rocket building is you probably could get max science in 2-4 missions it also depends on how ambitious you want to go.
  16. Recently I was flying a refuel mission for a craft I'm building to send to Duna. For fun I put on the shielded docking on my refueling craft. When I got the the ship in orbit I struggled to dock it as it seemed the two docking ports seemed to bounce off each other. That said I was able to eventually dock so they aren't entirely broken and I'm not the best at docking so really I'm asking the more seasoned dockers if there is an issue with shielded docking port. Anything helps
  17. I had a similar situation and successfully retrieved a crew returning from the mun. My advice would be bring a probe controlled ship and a crew capsule and leave the capsule empty for your brave kerbonauts. If you have a general idea on docking all you got to do is get close enough for the crew to eva from one ship to the rescue ship and collect the science from your modules. Simply deorbit your rescue craft and hooray science for everybody. If you don't know how to dock you maybe in some trouble. Just tinker around with the nodes and target the stranded craft trying to get as close a possible and look at a docking tutorial.
  18. I like this. It would also be cool if you could add text to the sides of the rocket like NASA does.
  19. I like the idea of making it for seven cause it would actually give it a massive use for crew transport but then they would have to make it bigger.
  20. This would make visiting the biomes so much easier.
  21. I'm pretty sure that Squad said it wouldn't add random failures as it would just be a pain to deal with for the players. I could see somebody just outside of Eeloo's sphere of influence getting slammed by a asteroid or somebody quick saving just before an asteroid hits a ship dooming the crew no matter what the player does.
