Why Duna is like Mars and Eve isn't like Venus ?
TheGeoninja replied to Frogbull's topic in KSP1 Discussion
I think that eventually most of the planets in KSP will become much deadlier with radiation and such and temperature is a bit wonky at the moment so I would say eventually Eve will become somewhat more like Venus but with a different color. -
Question about Rockets/Spaceplanes

Can't get crew out of science lab modules?
TheGeoninja replied to Kerbolnaut's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
Also it is odd that their crew icons don't appear in the interface like they normally would if they were in the hitchhiker. -
Finally Docked and in Minmus orbit no less!
TheGeoninja replied to TheGeoninja's topic in KSP1 Mission Reports
Thanks guys. -
After about an hour of silent cursing and orbit changing I finally did it. I docked two things in space in career mode orbiting minmus. Now I have to bring more people to operate the new module.

SSTO R.A.P.I.E.R. (Ver 0.23) Challenge (Closed)
TheGeoninja replied to Sirine's topic in KSP1 Challenges & Mission ideas
Mine ran out of fuel and was sub orbital -
Pretty cool. You could even use that as a crane.

Laythe too similar to Kerbin?
TheGeoninja replied to thereaverofdarkness's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
I think that Laythe should stay as it is. If you think about it Laythe is the ultimate goal for intermediate players to go to the most Kerbin like planet in the Solar System. I do know that the Devs said it would become irradiated but we don't have that kind of stuff at the moment. I think it makes sense to keep it as is and another oxygen rich planet to orbit gas giant two. A place where solar panels will be inefficient and would take a insane amount of skill to get to. -
Hello forums! Yesterday I pushed the limit of my space program and attempted to fly to Jool. I ended up at Duna I found this to be a great success for my new space craft the Jool Patrol. Hope you enjoy.

Slight Noob question
TheGeoninja replied to TheGeoninja's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
Thanks guys for all of the replies that means I will soon begin my conquest of Jool. -
I have a slightly Nooby question for the forums. Is it possible to get to any planet at anytime as by either luck or extreme coincidence I have gotten a Eve encounter and a Duna encounter and I did and I am pretty sure that both were done between proper encounter windows. I will admit that I got the Eve encounter while outside of Kerbin's SoI but it was a the same distance from the Sun as Kerbin. Any answers help. Thanks.

I suck at Mun missions
TheGeoninja replied to zapman987's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
My suggestion for early Mun landings is don't bother with a proper orbit just course correct until your going right into the Mun then use what fuel you have to just make it back to Kerbin. -
How to land on gilly?
TheGeoninja replied to panzerknoef's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
This is because Gilly is beyond small. You can get to orbit with a thruster pack easy. I can't say I have been to Gilly although I probably should venture there. From what I have heard to land on Gilly it is best to just use RCS to slow down. If that doesn't help you are going to want to adjust your landing site to somewhere flatter. -
Space Elevator or Mass Driver/Railgun or something else.
TheGeoninja replied to TheGeoninja's topic in Science & Spaceflight
So I see my dream of space elevators is flawed. -
In my opinion Space Elevators are the best thing for getting things into space because it simply acts as a normal elevator would and takes things from the surface into orbit. I am wondering what the communities opinion is on this and if more people prefer some sort of railgun that propels things into space really quickly and doesn't require as much in terms of construction. Additionally if you have any other science fiction style things that you would rather see please comment as I am interested in these types of alternatives to traditional rockets and I would love to see these things in the 21st century.

Jupiter-moon Europa might be covered in ice spikes
TheGeoninja replied to Crush's topic in Science & Spaceflight
I would imagine using some sort of lander that would either slowly heat the surface or would have some sort of shielding on the bottom like a drop-pod so it could smash into the ice without serious damage to any scientific components. -
How the hell do i put this up there?
TheGeoninja replied to MC.STEEL's topic in Science & Spaceflight
From what I have read it is possible with current technology to build a space-elevator on Mars but it would be a bit useless at the moment. -
I imagine that there was some sort of warping issue. Your trajectory might have been straight into Minmus resulting in the crash.

Ideal Minmus orbit?
TheGeoninja replied to 957Chatterton's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
Because Minmus requires such a low orbit speed I would suggest that you could put a station at a low Minmus equatorial orbit. This way you can easily do stuff on Minmus such as build a colony and refuel ships with ease. -
Planet Ideas And Names For The Future Of Kerbal Space Program
TheGeoninja replied to Dead Pixel's topic in KSP1 Discussion
A planet that has one side facing Kerbol at all times and would be covered with craters making it difficult to land on and the other side of the planet would be completely in the dark but would have a much smoother surface. This planet would also lack an atmosphere.
