  1. Correct. The idea behind it all was that in space, 5 PSI pure oxygen would sustain the astronauts. The hatch was a holdover from when the CSM would land on the moon and thus was a pressure sealed hatch to save weight. In order to maintain the seal at sea level for the test the capsule was pressurized to a whole lot more than it was designed for. To quote an engineer "At this level, aluminum EXPLODES". The key thing is not 100% oxygen (this was used long after) but rather 100% pure oxygen UNDER PRESSURE.
  2. The way they played? Oh hell no.
  3. Not sure what you're talking about there.
  4. @Just Jim I would watch out, I hear @Vanamonde really likes mushrooms!
  5. It seems @RoverDude just ninja'ed me, however:

  10. Well, if my guess of lining up with the barge was incorrect, my second guess would be the oxidizer loading. Not sure when they started but I don't recall the short windows prior to the FT'S, and I do recall a delay (involving a boat) after loading started to have caused an issue just after ignition. If it's not either of those reasons, then I'll have to say I have no idea.
  11. Don't need a sentence, just two words (and it might annoy several fanbases): HAIL MARY.
  12. I dont, but I know it was starting to get popular in Orlando before I left there. I would also point out that the NFL plays a few games in London every season and the stadium seems pretty full.
  13. Erm...Yeah. If you want to talk golf you're more than welcome to open a golf thread in the lounge. Lets get back to spaceballsx please.
