Open Source Construction Techniques for Craft Aesthetics
Gue__1 replied to GusTurbo's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
Hey guys, I don't know if I should post this here but I found something interesting. If you use a lot of structural fuselages, keep reading. As aesthetic builders we spent a lot of parts trying to make our craft clean, this can have some disadvantages compared to mass. It seems that a empty Mk1 Fuselage weights less than a Structural Fuselage 0.35 vs 0.4 tons. If used in great amount this could save a ton() of weight. So check your craft and see the difference. I do not think they are unbalanced, parachutes have great functionality in the game. All I hope for is a feature added that can help making fairings. But Squad will probably not add that until aerodynamics revision. Gue -

Open Source Construction Techniques for Craft Aesthetics
Gue__1 replied to GusTurbo's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
Hey GusTurbo, I have had a play with it and got a pretty nice fairing that you can see here. It all comes to a total of 461 parts. But I have to give credit to Majorjim because it weight 10.6 tons(!!!), i guess beauty comes with a price Good lock picking.... Gue -

Wow that's really handy, is it save? Does it not spontaneously explode? Gue -
Cargo bay doors are very hard to make, also it will add more parts and decrease the payload capacity. Anyway, I will take a look at what I can do.... Gue

totm june 2018 Work-in-Progress [WIP] Design Thread
Gue__1 replied to GusTurbo's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
Great design, have you already looked at the amount of lift it has? That is the biggest pain with these big shuttles, they need a lot of lift to land. If you need help with the launcher you can ask me... Gue -
[Showcase] Replica Craft thread!
Gue__1 replied to Mr. Pseudonym's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
My replica of the space shuttle, can be found here http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/67210-Space-Shuttle-Endeavour-MkII -
Improvements Again this shuttle has had a revisit and been improved. Here is a list of improvements: - easier to get to orbit, more fuel to spare - better size and looks compared to real shuttle - 6 ton tested bit more could be possible - just a small increase in parts 425 unloaded - new orbital engines just like the real shuttle - .......... Action groups: 1. booster toggle 2. booster toggle 3. main shuttle engines toggle 4. orbital engines toggle Flight instruction Just fly this craft as normal, go up turn at 10km and reach orbit Note: - when turn at 10km look at your apo, don't keep it to low - after 10km look at your pitch, if it goes down to much turn off booster with 1 OR 2 - if the same happens again stage the booster with space bar, also stage if at 30-ish km or 500m/s - after booster-sep the craft can be unstable, just lower your throttle and enable rcs - the orbital engines are in a 25 degree angle Disclaimer: This craft can be a pain but is much easier to fly then the old version. Stopping launch clamp unlimited fuel supply
Gue__1 replied to Zander's topic in KSP1 Mod Development
Launch clamps only supply energy to keep your craft alive. Pretty sure they do not supply fuel.... -
Hey Kerbalnauts, I got some awesome work to show you that will soon be coming to the forums. It has a bigger cargo bay and has just launched a 7.5 ton in a 85km/85km orbit. It also has updated orbital engines that look like the real deal. You can expect the update late this week if all goes as planned. Feedback is always respected.... Gue

[Showcase] The real world's largest rockets
Gue__1 replied to Nephf's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
We were talking about size right? -
Damm, sorry for the spamming. When i uploaded it to spaceport it had a error so I might have spammed the upload bottom out of frustration. Is there any way of deleting them? Again sorry it was not my intention
-
The problem is that no one should ever want to lift 275 tons. Short answer: impossible
-
Thanks, the only thing I'm afraid of is that not many people will be able to use it because it is over 400 parts....
-
I have updated the thread with my new version of the Shuttle which now has a name. I'm curious about what your opinions are of this craft.
-
I'm making my own shuttle too, it's the biggest usable shuttle i have seen on the forums. The download link is from a old version but a new one is comming. http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/62882-Space-Shuttle-%282m-cargo%29

PYLON SSTO: a 0.23 replica of REL's Skylon!
Gue__1 replied to ZodiaK's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
The main problem with a Skylon design is that in KSP it doesn't have enough lift, you can solve this to place some wings on the bottom of the craft. Also, ZodiaK a replica is going to cost you a ton of parts but I'm looking forward to it.
