So I can still send over a black hole and wipe the entire thing out, right ? Personally seeing that I'd better still be mortal in some way rather than only being able to be killed in the most awkward or terrible of circumstances (accidents, disasters, combats etc). Y'know what ? Maybe someone should write something about the reality of biological immortality, and of probabilities.

totm aug 2023 What funny/interesting thing happened in your life today?
YNM replied to Ultimate Steve's topic in The Lounge
Both ? XD (with glasses anyway.) To be fair the skin was made when most screens would only support up to 1280x1024, and I can't find a way to reliably change their size. But the small size makes it much more versatile against any backdrop. -

Not quite today, but I kept thinking about getting some way for there to be something to tell me the weather in the background while logged on the computer. Seems like "official"/"stock" widgets / gadgets have been removed in Windows 10, so I re-discovered Rainmeter... I last used them on my PC from 2011 - obviously a modern PC / Laptop would have less problem doing it. But I'm genuinely surprised it's still alive ! (well most of the stuff now is a lot simpler, or is just too flashy for my liking. Old ones do work, but with their own caveats.) -
Beard, no. I still have my razors. Long hair, yes... Though I've always been lazy to shave off facial hairs... I only cut them once it feels too long (which means it already looks a world apart from the shaved version). Hair on the other hand... I think I'll let it grow until I can tie them or something XD Normally it's all cut short every few months but I already miss the time for this one. I've let it grown long for whole 6 months but this might extend beyond that a bit (last cut I took was like in December or so).

Original SARS cause diarrhea but little to no fecal-oral transmission. Given this thing is 99% identical it might be about the same... Went to the doctor again in Thursday, no family members was tested anything, so it's probably not it. As of yesterday the numbers stood at 369 confirmed cases nationally, 250-ish around the capital area. We already have twice the average world CFR (8% vs 4%) - probably has to do with late diagnosis, and only admitting the worst cases. Also someone that my family know has died due to the virus. Can't tell what's going to happen.

Yeah, this epidemic is not as clear as it seems. At least one of them is definitely correct...

This is something I really worry myself. The US is a first-world country and might have enough resources to feed everyone - China practically did that to nearly all the populace during lockdowns - but in a 3rd-world country it's a stark difference. As for how much human lives those lost money means... idk... but it's surely a thing we need to consider, as always. But I think either way we'd have to lose some money - South Korea, one of the countries to have finally levelled the sigmoid, do a lot of free tests, and that has to be funded from somewhere, after all... though it may prove cheaper than lockdowns.

Got a cough myself since March 12, went to the doctor yesterday (March 15). Said it's probably nothing but if conditions don't get any better in 3 days I should go and have a proper check. Only possible contact point was if there were anyone that were infected when I went on the train on March 8. But hopefully it's nothing... (FYI I'm in Indonesia, we've had 172 confirmed cases (March 16) since March 2. But I know one case that had at least 10 days before detection so it's probably been longer and higher than that)

Colonizing the Moon is more interesting than Colonizing Mars, what do you think?
YNM replied to a topic in The Lounge
Neither. Getting out of a gravity well just to get into yet another one is just plain stupid... although in this respect the Moon is a better choice than Mars. But ideally ? Just a space station. Around gas giants. -

But does the universe's space-time fabric have enough resolution to consider the object hitting the Earth ? XD -
Sizes are much closer to utility tunnels, but that's encouraging if they can somehow make tunneling utilities better and easier (and cheaper).
