  1. OP - I wanted to see how simple I could make a ship and make it to orbit. Here's my design. Please forgive my spelling errors. No RCS needed being such a small ship. Assemble from top to bottom: 1x Mk16 Parachute 1x Command Pod Mk1 4x Sepratron I (mounted diagonally on CP) 1x Z-100 Rechargeable Battery Pack (mounted nadar on CP) 1x TR-18A Stack Decoupler 1x FL-T200 Fuel Tank 1x LV-909 Liquid Fuel Engine 1x TR-18A Stack Decoupler 1x FL-T800 Fuel Tank 1x LV-T45 Liquid Fuel Engine 4x TT-38K Radial Decoupler (mounted radially on FL-T800) 4x FL-T400 Fuel Tank (mounted on TT-38K) 4x LV-T30 Liquid Fuel Engine Note: Arrange the staging so that Sepratrons activate above the parachute. Top Decoupler is on it's own stage below parachute. LV-T45 and LV-T30 are all on the bottom stage and fire together. Actions: -abort Sepratron - activate engine LV-T45 Liquid Fuel Engine - shutdown LV-T30 Liquid Fuel Engind - shutdown TR-18A - decouple (top one only!) -custom 1 Sepratron - activate engine Flight: activate SAS, apply full throttle, and launch. Keep vertical until after 8000m. Gently press bring to 45 degrees. Should be after 10000m now. Keep at this angle. When the four LV-T30's burn out, decouple. This happens close to the gravity turn. After the LV-T30 buns out, decouple and cut engine. Switch to map view and watch for the of assent. Keep ship pointed prograde and fire when at top keeping apleapse below 80km. repeat until pariapse is above 70km. Enjoy the ride. Deorbit: Turn retograde and press "1" to fire the Sepratron's. Decouple the final stage. at around 3000m AGL, deploy parachutes. Ride the parachutes until you land. Hope this helps

Back in 2007, a town in New Zealand actually passed a bill that would ban Dihydrogen Monoxide. If some loud "concerned mother" convinces a school board to ban WiFi due to radiation, that makes them fools following a fool. Fools like that have their minds already made up about the facts and won't listen to reason. As my grandfather once told me, "There's no cure for stupid."

  4. Beer. I'm a homebrewer and the magic involved brewing beer makes me understand why ancient man held it to such high esteem. Some scientist even wonder of beer led early man to agriculture.
  5. I have several sub-assemblies that have no attachment nodes on the bottom. This makes it impossible to stack them on top of an existing rocket booster.   7. I'm returning from Minums and was looking up in the wiki on the recommend altitude to dip into to slow me down from a return from Minmus and I can't seem to find any information. One option is to do a quicksave and experiment. However, I know there are much more experienced Jebadites out there who already are yelling out the answers to their computer screens. Now is the time for them to speak out and share their knowledge. Otherwise, I am going to subject a poor kerbal to a deja vu nightmare as I experiment with him with repeated fiery deaths until a perfect trajectory is achieved.
  8. I have gone through steam only once. The other one million times was directly.
  9. I'm using Kethane and mining Minmus to get fuel and O2 to sent a ship to Duna. That would make a refueling station in orbit of Minmus practical.
  10. What I did was build the lander and take into Kerbal orbit. Then, I tell MJ to land at KSP. If it crashed, I add more rockets. I also found that I need to watch the relationship between the center of thrust and the center of mass. If they are too close together, MJ does this stupid "dance" right before touchdown and flips the lander and crashes. If I put the engines above the center of mass like a skycrane or low, it lands fine. I was able to land a Orange fuel tank with 8 radial engines and a poodle engine just fine using MJ on Kerbal.

  12. In America, Universities have multiple colleges. But, a college can exist on it's own and usually focuses on one discipline such as Liberal Arts. I graduated from George Fox College, a liberal arts college, which is now George Fox University in which the College of Arts is one of many colleges they now have. We also have Community Colleges which are sometimes called Junior Colleges. They typically have a two year degree and are sometimes associated with a 4 year college that the student can transfer into after graduation. Student who graduate from a community college end up with an associate degree. Our education system is different from other countries in that anybody can go to school regardless of age or social situation. My daughter attended our local community college with no money out of pocket and graduated with an associate degree in graphic design. Her great-grandfather also attended a community college in Washington when he was 90.

The author built it with an earlier version of KSP, I think, because you have to modify some of the modules to get them to work right. But, that makes for some fun explosions and I learned what could and could not work. I started by making the Proton K and Soyuz rockets first and then made the Progress rocket. Once I felt comfortable with my design modifications, I moved to launching a Salyut 1 station with the Proton K. Put kerbals in it with the Soyuz and, finally sent a supply ship up on the Progress. Worked my way through the entire page. Lot of work but fun especially the deorbiting of the stations. Hope that helps. Good luck.
  15. I'm trying to add the Kethane generator and when I activate it, it doesn't recharge my batteries and stays at 0.0%. I have it directly on top of a kethane tank and still no difference. Any ideas of what I'm doing wrong?
  16. I have a noob question about satellites. I put one on orbit and now I have a ball floating in space. I'm not really seeing the usefulness of them. Am I missing something. I see the purpose of landers, rovers, and sacrificing kerbals to the science gods. What can I do this satellites? Thanks.
  17. Hello. New to KSP but love it. How long does it take before I can post a question about gameplay? Posting a question about the Mobility Processing Lab and it's not on the thread.
  18. I'm building a Space Station and added a Mobile Processing Lab to it. I then sent up some Kerbals and moved two into the lab via an EVA. But, when I moved them in, they didn't appear on the UI the same as the Hitchhikers Storage Container does. I seem that they are on the station in the save file but I can't move them down now or have them leave the station through game play. Is this normal or have I stumbled onto a glitch?
