  1. So in the middle of a mission I switched from one ship to a second (sending 2 ships to Jool at once) and it won't let me reset target to Jool. It suggests the space craft that is landed on one of Jool's moons. I've tried restarting, switching craft, nothing works. I targeted Jool in order to allow Mechjeb to transfer to planet. It started after switching craft. [edit] fixed. fast forwarded to escape Kerbin and it seemed to work.
  2. of course how to balance your checkbook and how to save for retirement should also be requirements in math class as well.
  3. She is all to familiar with the costs of hobbies. I collect guitars.
  4. Does that also apply to other experiments? Surface Sample, temperature, EVA reports? Or do you get partial credit on transmission and full credit on return?
  5. Let's say I check goo and it tells me keep = 40, transmit = 20. I transmit and get 20. When (if) I land on Kerbin and recover ship do I get the other 20?
  6. here is what bugs me about MET time. I set up for a planetary transfer with mechjeb. It tells me it will be 35 days before I can do that. I can't warp super fast since I am in low orbit so I switch to another craft that can warp faster. I warp 34 days and a few hours ahead. I switch back and I discover I missed the window. This has happened many times. Not sure what I am doing wrong.
  7. She's just jealous that I have hobbies that I enjoy.
  8. I can't miss what I've never had. If I try some new tech in SB mode then I will be missing it in Career Mode. :-)
  9. with Mechjeb, rendezvous is simple. match orbit plane, warp to close point, match velocity, target tar+, accelerate, match velocity, tar+, accelerate.....
  10. Yep I know that. Figured it out when testing a rover at KSP. The orbiting craft would have a module.
  11. They should offer this program in math class.
  12. with that said, I am NEVER going to finish recording my album as long as I am building rockets. :-P
  13. I was figuring having a disposable retro burn tank and engine for the trip down.
  14. I figured for small bodies moons like that a small manned probe would be the way to go. I can do most of the tech with a probe, but I need soil samples. I'm gonna have to try that next. I guess I could use wheels as landing gear.
  15. wow, didn't realize career mode was so new. I am still gonna resist sandbox. I'm enjoying the challenge of working for tech.
  16. My response was this, "I'm not addicted. It just takes a long time to do a mission."
  17. I have built one (well at least half of the sections are in orbit and connected) while the design looks cool, it is too flimsy and difficult to dock. I will probably start over.
  18. I had the same problem. 1. Lower the center of gravity and widen the base. Maybe something like this. 2. Burn retro until your orbit velocity is as close to zero as you can. This way you are going straight down. 3. Try to land on a level spot. Mun is full of steep slopes. 4. After you hit, you can still use WASDQE keys to try to rotate lander back to vertical as it tips.
  19. anyone got any cool screenshots of a manned lander with only a seat, sans capsule?
  20. If they can last 30 days without food and water, they are apparently zombies. what do I care if they go 4 years?
  21. the hardest thing is repeating boring tasks to get more science.
  22. Am I weird? I've got most of the 300 research on the tree. Still no orange tanks or mainsail engine.
  23. I find landing on Mun very tricky. especially with top heavy landers. They always tip over as I am landing. It's very easy to land on the side of a steep slope. My landers look more like this. I use 3 legs instead of 4.
