  1. A few weeks ago, while on the Facebook page, Kerbal Space Program, someone asked about the various educational levels of those on the page. Taking a page from Endermens' book, I decided to start this thread. How many times have you seen someone's user name, a ship they've designed, or even a comment they've made and wondered what their degree is in? Well, wonder no more (for those who choose to participate)! Have you earned your college degree? Do you hold a trade school certificate or other vocational training certification? Are you a starving undergraduate or graduate student and plan to someday graduate? Did life smack you between the eyes and you had to leave college for a job - we've got a category for that! If you are planning to go to college, I even have a category for that as well... Include your degree, the college, the city the college is in, and your major/proposed major. If you have more than one degree, please share! With that said, here's the list (as it develops) Young and aspiring dreamers: [This category is for those who are not yet in high school but share their dreams with us. As hard as it may be for many of us who've done a few orbits more than the younger crowd, let's resist the temptation to dash their dreams and ambitions, and instead encourage them to fulfill their potential.] Astrofox Already has his private pilot certificate. Aspires to be an aerospace engineer and within the mission planning component of a space program. Bev7787 Bubbadevlin High school STEM student cubinator Aspires to become an astronaut, aerospace engineer, musical engineer, musician, and entomologist. 2. I'm doing a project for school about the educational merits of KSP, and I was wondering: how do players usually expand their knowledge and expertise, and which missions do people usually do in sequence? I've already gone through this process, but I honestly don't remember what I did to get into actually playing the game instead of fooling around... Plus, I'm trying to link KSP player expansion to IRL rocket science history.
  3. Using the science instruments tells the player things like it's cold here or that it's dusty here; after seeing a few of these most players would just click it away as irrelevant. I feel that this is a wasted opportunity because KSP is a very educational game and these feedbacks the game gives to the player would be a great place to sneak in some real information. What I would do, if it was up to me, is that I would ask relevant organisations if they'd like to grab this opportunity to educate people of our solar system. Of course the KSP solar system isn't just like ours and some of the science instruments are ...interesting, but I'd say, close enough. Nasa has been involved with KSP before, and there are others if they're not interested, such as the Planetary society, in addition to the obvious ones. This seems like a rather obvious idea but I couldn't find any earlier threads about similar ideas.. is it an already discussed suggestion?
  4. Does is any cartoon, book or media that turn you interest in science. In my case it was "Poysłowy Dobromir" http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Animation/PomyslowyDobromir It's old cartoon from communist Poland, about inquisitive boy who inventing various things, see for yourself, it not used spoken language so anybody can understand it
