New build just uploaded! (Mk.1e1) ---------- original OP ------------- So, I'm making this game: As the thread title says, the concept is basically what would happen if you took the stylish ambience of Crimson Skies, then put it together with the assemble-and-physics of KSP in an open world elite-like environment. It's a concept I've been sitting on for a very long time. Anyways - since I have a production budget of just about what loose pennies I can find under my seat cushions, this is an early-access release. Here we have a very first playable preview of what will gradually build up into the full game - It's free for now, as getting people involved with the project is currently the most important thing. Eventually there'll be a pre-order option and things should follow pretty much in the same lines as the sales method used for KSP. It's all about the player community, as we all know so well. Anyways, enjoy! Updates should come up very frequently in this early stage, so make sure to keep an eye on it!

Legend: WIP: Writing in progress. DS: developing story, WBWS: will be writing soon. WBWFW: Won't be writing for a while. VED: Very early development Infinitum: Well, it's in my sig, so just go there. WIP The Children between worlds: It's also in my sig. WIP. Genesis Plot: Mars is being colonized, with Terraforming in the works, but after a cave expedition, life, biologically similar to Earth life is found... Yet the life is older by hundreds of millions of years, trashing everything we thought we knew about the origins of life on Earth. Back on Earth, special interest groups are calling for the colonists to abandon the Terraforming, and to an extreme extent, to return the colonists to Earth, and stop the colonization of Mars entirely. In an interplanetary argument that may decide the future of humanity on Mars, and perhaps, the native life on Mars as well, who will prevail? DS: WBWFW. The Time Sleeper: In the year 2051, Prof. Collins, a brilliant physicist and engineer builds a Cyropod that allows him to stay in stasis for a hundred years without aging. After boosting into orbit, he steps inside, and locks himself away for a century, where he wakes up in 2152. Expecting fame and glory when he wakes, he is shocked to find out humanity has nearly wiped itself out. Desperate for supplies, he lands on the surface, and finds himself a prized slave to ruthless dictators who are willing to kill anyone without remorse. With no way of traveling in the past, and the remnants of humanity on the edge of another war, which could wipe them out for good, he must rise a rebellion against them. Or risk nuclear annihilation. WBWS DS The light side of the Moon Plot: What if Kennedy survived being shot in 1963? Before J.F.K. was assassinated, he proposed doing a joint US Soviet Moon landing, what if it happened? Unfortunately, because the Soviet prime minister didn't trust the new President Johnson, the plan never got off the ground, but how would the world have changed if Soviets and Americans shook hands on the Moon together? WBWFW VED The legend of Acworth Very basic plot (Since this is based off a video game idea I had a few years back): A warlock is out for vengeance after his bother is accused of witchcraft, and burned at the stake to protect him, but he was innocent. So the warlock goes on a mission to end the witch trails, and make the people who killed his brother pay for what they did. WBWFW VED I'll post more ideas here as I get them, there's a few more, but I don't have time to put them here What do you guys think?

Hello and Welcome to MetaSeed. Here, I will track my progress through the development of MetaSeed. It is a worldbuilding project, integrated into a game design effort. About the world: Earth. 1 million years have passed since the first human civilization collapsed. From the radioactive, polluted and ruined remains of the world, life has sprung again, forming five factions. With it appears magic, a force known differently to each race, yet equally devastating. The Vroz, an ancient and predatorial species, was summoned by the devastating energies of humanity's wars. They draw ever nearer, and promise to consume all life of Earth. Today, they war. Tomorrow, they face destruction. The game: A tabletop wargame, to be played with cards. It is free and easy to play, with an emphasis on customizability, metagaming and player freedom. Each player designs their own units, drawn from a mixture of the different factions with a playstyle in mind. On the field, the rules are streamlined and effective: combat promises to be fast-paced and rewards tactical thinking. An innovative turn system keeps all players occupied. Themes: A rational, internally consistent approach to worldbuilding. The different factions are brutal and flawed, but never mad. The magic system does not dismiss the links between cause and effect, and is in fact a veil over scientific concepts familiar to each player. In some ways, a sensible Warhammer, in other ways an elaborate chess game. Objective: A fun game where players can express their creativity, and an interesting world from which can be drawn momentous battles and fascinating characters.
