I made a little "mod" that I have wanted in the game for a while now: Planet Wiki, a KSPedia-based mini-wiki that contains useful information regarding the planets such as science multipliers in different situations and the border between "In Space High" and "In Space Low." The kind of stuff you normally have to go to the KSP wiki to find. Here are its pages: http://imgur.com/a/H3RdP Download Links for Stock version (v4.1): ~Thank you to Avaborg for working on this and getting it working for KSP 1.9.1 after all these years~ Spacedock Curse Dropbox Links for Outer Planets Mod Edition [KSP 1.7.3 and earlier, OPM has changed since this too] (v3 page layouts): Spacedock Curse Dropbox So far the pages are populated with the following information: A picture of the planet Pictures of the planet's parent body and moons The planet's in-game description The science multiplier in different situations at the planet The altitude border between different situations at the planet Orbital Period The planet's orbital inclination Semi-major axis needed for synchronous orbit The phase angle for optimal transfer delta-v needed to (safely) get to the surface from Kerbin's surface delta-v needed to land/take off delta-v needed to escape Surface gravity in g's Height of the atmosphere Number of biomes The highest and lowest point on the surface, with their coordinates The Sidereal day length Efficiency of solar panels on planet's surface (as opposed to Kerbin's surface) Minimum and maximum distances that the planets can be from Kerbin Body Radius (Moons are included, too!) If you like my work and want to support this project, donate! No amount is too small.

Hey. KSP has just updated (version unknown, date 12/05/2019) together with the launch of Breaking Ground, but a lot of things are still amiss. I made a list of points I'd like to go over here, some are bugs, some are suggestions, some are slight rants from issues that have been present since the game launched and have been not given any attention yet. 1) Show game version number at main/settings screen: when reporting problems we are having to resort to giving the date and hoping you guys can at least figure out which version KSP should be updated to by that given date since there doesn't seem to be any way for one to check exactly what version number he's running. This is a very important feature for bug-reporting and is present on pretty much every game. 2) Explanation for new features added (I'm not talking about Breaking Ground itself, but the "free" update): so, not only a performance calculator has been added for the VAB/SPH, but a lot of other small features as well - such as a new option to toggle "same vessel interact" in the VAB/SPH, for which the game doesn't care one bit to explain. This issue will lead into the following 3rd issue that is KSPedia (will talk more about it); it doesn't seem to be properly updated and, even after painfully scrolling through the document (as there are no table of contents for you to jump to) I could not find mention of any of some new features there (part because I may have missed it - there are literally 175 pages - and part because they aren't there) We also have the training scenarios there in the main menu that are pretty much abandoned. Updates came and gone and seemingly nothing new has been added to the tutorials in regards to the features that have been added with these updates. 3) KSPedia: I have made a post about KSPedia removal back in April (here: https://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/index.php?/topic/183348-ee-kspedia-removal-feedbackquestions/) but it has apparently received ZERO dev attention on it. I won't bring up all the points I made there here, but pretty much everything discussed there is STILL present and/or important. The sad fact is that with the removal of the KSPedia from the console version we have pretty much traded a relatively functional and intuitive helping system for a poor .pdf file that's quite literally comprised of a series of screenshots of the KSPedia screen, featuring NO table of contents, is all messed up with pages of different sizes (check page 162) and one can't even tell what has been updated or when (although, funnily, as stated by "UomoCapra" back in March, 27; one of the reasons for this change was so that KSPedia could be more easily updated - yeah, right). I mean, honestly, take a look at this mess!: https://www.kerbalspaceprogram.com/files/KSPedia-XB1.pdf The two main issues we therefore require fixed immediatly in my opinion (regarding KSPedia) are the table content and a marker/line/changelog list in the start of the document that shows new players exactly what has been updated in the document; having a KSPedia version number here https://www.kerbalspaceprogram.com/kspedia/ would also not hurt, as I'm typically clueless on whether I have the last version already or if it has been updated. 4) Altimeter AGL/MSL toggle: Is there a radial funtion for toggling this (like we do with the landing gear)? There's a blank option at the 10/11ºclock position when oppening the Action Menu radial which could very well be used for this. Having to move the cursor with an analogue stick to click on the altimeter is painfully annoying. 5) Slider bug: has been present ever since the game came out on consoles, never fixed, never cared for. Two ways you can notice this are by trying to increase a parachute's spread angle to 10 (unless you're extremely lucky you'll end up having to move the slider up and down over fifteen times to get it to 10, more often than not it will go up to ~9.6 and not reach 10); and by trying to select how many sides you want a fairing to break into after it's deployed, in this case you can't select natural numbers like in the PC (that is: 1, 2, 3, 4... nº of sides), but only decimals that make no sense (like: 2.147 number of sides, or 3.879 - you get the picture, how would a fairing break into 2.147 sides?). 6) RESET stage letters are blank (*minor bug): in the VAB on the bottom-right of the screen where there should be the letters "RESET" with an orange background for you to reset the stage orders back to default doesn't have these letters anymore, only the orange background. It left me wondering what that was for, so I clicked on it and messed up my stages, no big deal though. 7) Vertical coloured bar beside kerbal in EVA shows "no text": possible bug? When going EVA we now have the Kerbal portrait on the bottom right. To the left of the portrait there's the vertical bar (which is used to show G-Force/Fatigue when the Kerbal is in a craft), in this case the bar is coloured up to half and, when hovering the cursor over it, it shows (NO TEXT). 8) Allow for time slow down (like a time compression, but opposite)! One of the main issues I have while playing KSP on consoles is having to move the cursor, especially because performance is usually suboptimal and you have to click on that tiny science part while everything is shaking. A very helpful workaround that I came to suggest more than a year ago (and obviously received zero dev attention) is having a system that slows the game down. Now, this system is already present, every time you open the radial menu the game goes "slow-motion" and performance is a LOT better (since the game has time to calculate everything). Therefore, being able to activate this slow-motion mode outside of the radial while being able to move the cursor and interact with modules would be extremely helpful! It would also be helpful when you're managing experiments/crew in a space station/planetary base, since the FPS drops significantly while near these two and it's close to impossible to properly move the cursor and click on the parts you want to.

Hello. I have just checked the KSPedia from the website and was wondering if changes are planned, as it feels like a very cheap placeholder at the moment. Based on the post by UomoCapra UomoCapra says "Now you won’t need to mess with the flow of your ongoing mission and you’ll be able to use your mobile phone or any other display to consult it via our website!", leading me to believe that one of the reasons KSPedia has been removed from the game was that it felt a bit inconvenient to be accessed while playing. Well, that's false. Having to open an app through the game was never a problem. And, just like when openning KSPedia through the game, if you do have to access KSPedia through your mobile phone you will also have to pause the game; the only difference is that you'll have to take more steps if going for second method. Ideally, having it both in the game and as a .pdf in the website would be better, although the first method feels more interactive and easier to access! Is the KSPedia app ever coming back to the game, or is this a permanent change? I wish this is only temporary and I do believe other players feel the same. At the moment the .pdf file is simply a very cheap compilation of screenshots from the KSPedia menus - showing even the Xbox controller button icons on the bottom. It would be interesting if it became interactive instead of a .pdf, plus with some section makers so you wouldn't have to scroll through the many pages trying to find what you're looking for. Was there any other reason for the app to be removed? UomoCapra says that it will be easier for the devs to update the KSPedia through the website (even though it's just a .pdf file). But this doesn't seem like a reason, especially when the PC version still has the app without any issue. It would be interesting to hear/read why it's been removed, listen to the community feedback before permanently removing features and saying wether it might come back or not. Communication with the community is always welcomed! Thanks.

Who hasn’t been in the middle of a thrilling flight, when the need to consult the KSPedia arises? Now you won’t need to mess with the flow of your ongoing mission and you’ll be able to use your mobile phone or any other display to consult it via our website! With the release of the History and Parts Pack and the free update for KSP Enhanced Edition, we are relocating the KSPedia to our website, where you’ll be able to consult it at your convenience and it will be easier for us to update. For the time being, the KSPedia will remain in the PC version of the game, but you’ll be able to access it from our website as well. Visit www.kerbalspaceprogram.com for consulting KSPedia.

Sometimes I'll pull out and read the KSPedia for help in something. Sometimes I'll do this on a modded install, and I'll notice the topics are a little out of order, and usually the stock pages are at the bottom. Something like this: BDAc pages seem to be scattered about, and there doesn't seem to be a rhyme or reason for organization. So I suggest adding some organization to these pages, either based on mod or alphabet, with the stock pages towards the top. Thoughts?

The next release of Galileo's Planet Pack is finally in sight. One or more of its new features will prominently feature screenshots so I humbly request the GPP fanbase to produce some and post them here. This is not a contest and there's no definite release date quite yet so there's no rush, no competition, no explicit challenge to warrant a post in the Challenges/Mission Ideas subforum. There are requirements, however, and it would be welcome if an established objective (high prestige contract or long-term personal mission) leads to the screenshot happening. At least 1920x1080. In-game detail settings must be very high or full. No visual mods required but are welcome. All HUD elements must be hidden and no Historian overlays if you use that mod. Each participant can reserve one planet or moon and produce two images. At least one of each image must have their chosen body close up behind their craft or kerbal (such as low orbit or flying low/high) or directly under them (such as landed/splashed). In addition to the above requirements, each posted image must show a interesting situation: Whether the arrival of a crewed vessel very far out with or without life support parts clearly visible, a dropship full of probes arriving somewhere, a large glorious base being setup, or some form of milestone being completed, some form of EVA madness or even epic failures and accidents.

Hi all I thought that I would share some info concerning the creation of KSPedia's for your mods I found an easy way of creating KSPedia pages a few months back and figured I would share my discovery with the community since I have noticed that there has been little use of this feature since it's incorporation into the game

I was apsent from playing KSP for a few months(rel life issues). I started again recently and relized that I forgot about key binding, what key is used to switch between local and absolute part rotation in SPH. Since there is new help page available in game, I looked there first, but didn't found answer. I found information that I looking for at online KSP wiki page, but it will be nice to have that information available in game too. From wiki page: F in place mode: Toggle Symmetry between vessel or parent part F in Offset mode: Toggle between absolute or load centered offset F in Rotate mode: Toggle between absolute or relative rotation That information is not available in game anywhere, trough tooltips or additional GUI icons.

Looking at a thread like this one, I get the impression that the content of KSPedia pages is rather static. Perhaps it is already planned, but wouldn't it be great if the KSPedia included dynamic content as well in the future? The most obvious thing that comes to mind are key-mappings (so you can look up in-game what the actual mappings are, not the default mappings), but also celestial body and part catalogs. "Nothing is impossible for the man who doesn't have to do it himself," so I'm sure it can be done!
