New Landing Gear Wheels by Porkjet

I can't say I like them at all. I was hoping for some that would look sleek and fold up into the fuselage in stock, not tumors on the bottom of my plane. I won't be using these at all, I'll just keep using Adjustable Landing Gear. It doesn't look like they even have lights, so the current stock ones are better for small planes.

The really small ones in the picture look interesting for that fixed wheel effect.

Are we getting 4 different types? Excellent! That small one looks like it could have many other non-aircraft uses.

USE the offset tool! Making gears your way, that what those gizmos were created for!

That won't help, the bottom isn't flat. All I'm saying is any attempt at a space shuttle with these is going to look terrible and really I'm not sure any SSTO would look good with these at all. They don't even match the stock plane parts, maybe Mk3, but certainly not Mk1 or Mk2.

If you look closely, there's some little cone-shaped things - given close inspection (especially of the mid-sized gear), they look like they might have a glass-like texture on the front, implying they could very well be lights. Aside from that though, I agree that they aren't very, well, spacy-looking. I'd say that the existing stock gear, as irritating as they can be, have a more modern look to them.

That being said, at least we're finally getting stock gear (even if it might end up like the stock applauncher vs. Blizzy's toolbar). The existing stock ones look small even for Mk 2...

I'm always happy to get more stock parts but I'm in two minds about these wheels. They wont look good slapped on the bottom of wings due to the roundness of the shell. And the small ones cant be moved at all from vertical as the body covering them would strike the ground..

What would be perfect is wheels that adjust themselves to the surface they are attaching to. Or ones with a flat base so we can recess them so they look like actual wheel bays, flush with the surface they attach to. Also the little ones look like they are from the fifties..

Ho hum. We will see when 1.0 lands.

Why the hell are we getting this teaser image secondhand from reddit?

That said, they look real good. Solid improvement and expansion from the single current landing gear part.

Well it was posted by Porkjet, who isn't officially a dev, so maybe PJ can be cut a little slack.

Can you even tell if the current stock gear have lights from a side angle? I think you're jumping to conclusions.

Well, like I said, you CAN see things that look like little lights in the shots shown.

That little.. cone-shape looks an awful lot like a light, plus the big one even has two of 'em.
