How do you expect IVA to change in 1.0 and in further releases?

Recommended Posts

Simple enough question on an interesting enough topic.

Personally, I would want to see further ability to explore the interior of spacecrafts, though this might indeed put a considerable strain on some player's rigs. It would also be incredibly neat to be able to interact with switches and buttons on control panels. Furthermore, IVAs would be incredible if you could do so on EVA (an IVA-EVA. LOL :D), and especially on the surface.

What would you guys think to be good things to speculate on with regards to IVA?

Nothing will change in regards to interacting with IVA, IMO. We can certainly hope for more props and information but I wouldn't hold my breath. Otherwise frizzank will likely do an excellent job with the remaining IVAs, which will then be picked up by the community and RPM'd.

Yeah I don't imagine it will change radically for 1.0, but maybe 1.1 or 1.2 could delve more deeply into kerbal life, finishing the Skills and Experience system, creating randomized kerbal appearance for new recruits, further development on making science experiments fun, maybe life support and making IVA more interesting. A little bit ago I suggested a cut-away view that would let you easily see and move resources about a vessel and also let you move kerbals from one module to another without EVA. It would also be cool if as part of an experiments overhaul you could do more things from inside the science module, like loading materials into the materials bay, processing experiment results, managing data more clearly, etc.

I hope it's possible to take a vessel to orbit only sitting in the pod which means more info display and more interactive buttons

It is now, it's just difficult to judge :sticktongue:

It'll be interesting to see the inside of the Mobile Processing Lab. Hopefully it'll be a proper (if small) lab with all sorts of science equipment, and test tube racks for surface samples. And a computer where the scientists calculate their results and write lab reports.

The Mk3 passenger module will hopefully look like the inside of a passenger plane, with more metal showing.

I do not think it will change much any time soon, but I hope it will get:

A button that when you right clicked a kerbal in their seat, it would say get out of seat. Ability to go around floating in command pods (and other parts) aimlessly and being able to right click the doors at the back of the cockpits to go to whatever is behind it. A small cabnet (like the rock box in the mk2 lander can).

Larger cockpit windows so that I can and land planes IVA xD
