I never really liked the Beatles :l

There\'s about 2 songs by them I really like, but overall a lot of their music (that I\'ve heard) is really mushy gooshy boy-band-esque 'I love you' stuff.

I know they got away from that at one point though.

I don\'t care for NickelBack really, but I think there\'s more songs I\'d enjoy by NickelBack than by the Beatles.

Pink Floyd > All (except maybe for C418, my hero)

Lemme help you oout, Ydoow.

Yesterday: This has been covered about a million times, and the Beatles even arranged this differently later on, but even early on it was spot on fantastic.

Eleanor Rigby: Just listen, its amazing.

The Beatles - Get Back (HD) (Remastered)

Get Back; They didn\'t do a lot of 'driving beat' but when they did, it was great.

Hey Jude.

Long and Winding Road

Yeah I could go on and on. They don\'t have to be your favorite, but comparing them to Pop Boy Bands? Heresy.

Oh, and to help the noobs out, lets get some Floyd up in here:

Hey Jude I liked for a while, but then after hearing it so often, it got under my skin (anyone catch that?)

The songs I like are

\'A day in the Life\'

\'Let it Be\'

I\'m sure there\'s one or two more I like, but that\'s all I\'ve really been introduced to. The large majority I just kinda don\'t like :l I can\'t get into it.

Everyone has their own taste, so it\'s not like I\'m saying 'Beatles suck yo', I\'m just saying most of their music isn\'t my taste.

It\'s his opinion but I must say it\'s a terrible one and he needs some musical therapy.

Plus Ydoow try out the White Album for size.

But to each their own unless you like Nickelback or Bieber more than lets say Led Zeppelin or the Beatles

From my non musical OPINION (need to make that clear), the beatles were good in there time, and were highly innovative with there music, like other bands have been in the past as well. I prefer the Beatles (technically I have spelt The Beatles wrong twice in this post on perpouse) to Nickelback (though I have a grudge against Nickelback for some reason), but in terms of rock and pop ballads, I think Queen is better. I also perfer Johnny Cash, Elvis Presely and Jerry Lee Lewis in rock and roll, and Bruce Springsteen and several other bands at rock and roll.

But none of them compare to a well writen patter song, or a great orchastral tune

(like

or
or even
)

And so to put in some more links to other music to look at, the main patter songs I enjoy are

And

Danny Kaye - Tschaikowsky (And Other Russians)

i like nickleback, but they amount to a small tray off there own cremations compared to the Beatles. and they were right you know, all you need is love ;)

That song reminds me of hippies for some reason xD...

Honestly the Beatles are better than nickleback.

I do hate the beatles. I don\'t particularly like nickleback, just some of their songs are good to me.

The beatles sound like justin beeber to me with their stupid high pitched voices. Really though it\'s high pitched and has an annoying accent. The content of their songs isn\'t any better, I never heard one that I thought was worth listening too. Speaking of accents though, for the double-whammy and at the risk of setting someone\'s brain on fire, I don\'t like Pink Floyd either.

my radio is old, but great at making autotune bvious. it rules out almost everyone, apart from adele, a few rock bands and thos that are done deliberately(like the black eyed peas) i dont mind. unless it is total crap and done because the 'singer' didnt sing.

Like rap?

Or how Niki manaj\'s(Don\'t care if this is not how you spell her last name.) singing is basically her talking with Auto-tune/pitch.(My sister blasts songs like that in her room or when she\'s doing dishes.)

I was actually thinking something similar, but was afraid to say it.

Beatles came off to me as the boyband of their era, except were successful and didn\'t make total asses/douches of themselves

Except they wrote their own songs, didnt worry about dancing, made MEANINGFUL music. Their songs spanned the entire breadth of popular and underground music genres at the time, and they pushed the boundaries far beyond what they were.

Oh and when their popularity exploded to such a point that their live shows were just a bunch of girls screaming so much they couldn\'t play their music?

They quit touring. Forever. They did studio music for the rest of their time together.

You seriously need to go back and examine music before bands like the Beatles, Rolling Stones, et al. did their thing. I can guarantee you that whatever modern music you listen to today, it was directly influenced by the Beatles and their contemporaries.

Saying that the Beatles are as vapid and shallow as a boyband is appalling and you owe it to yourself to broaden your musical education as soon as possible.

I also guarantee you that if you walked up to the guys in Nickleback and told them you think they\'re better than the Beatles they would laugh at you.

The Beatles and their producer George Martin pioneered many of the studio techniques that are commonplace today. They were one of the first bands to experiment with Stereo and multi-track recording. To compare them to some piss-ant boy band in today\'s music scene is a joke. There is no comparison.

I don\'t see Nickleback pioneering anything, just riding on the coat-tails of those that came before them. They sound as generic as the next formulaic band the industry is cranking out today.

The problem is that video now plays a large part of a songs success today so less musical talent is needed when you can slap flashy pics up on the screen. Also, the number of dancers one has on stage or in the video is a direct correlation to the quality of the music, the more dancers, the crappier the music.

Arrr!

I only meant their music, their lovey-dovey type music. It made me think of boybands. Were the Beatles the first to do it? Probably. But I probably won\'t like the first rap song either :l
