You know you can get pretty much any mod from the old kerbalstuff page, there is a torrent link.
and if you download the .torrent and open in a torrent program like uTorrent you can just select which files you want to download. You don't have to download Everything.
The torrent is organised in folders by username. So usually you can just find the username folder and download their mods only.

haven't actually used any of the experiments but loading this up in KSP v1.1.2 didn't throw any errors or exceptions on the log, even for the DLL. Sweet
