On the Subject of Reputation

If you want to just give out reputation to someone, I feel that rather than finding the first post from that user that you can, it is more productive to go through their posts in their profile page to find a rep-worthy post. For example, here's mine: Starwhip's Profile

You can then see their recent posts. Find one that is interesting, or constructive, or creative, and rep that one instead.

Can't say I ever need to do this. I rep the post not the poster, so I never find myself looking for something from a specific poster to rep.

I find I'm of much the same mind, aye.

Rather than looking for reasons (or, as it may seem to the very cynically-minded, excuses) to rep a particular person, I'll rep anything worthwhile that I come across, regardless of who posted it.

I generally do what Red Iron Crown and vexx32 do. I care more about the post in most cases than the poster. Not to say that I don't often rep the same person, it's just that when I do it's for the quality of their posts.

I'm not particularly stingy with my reputation, but I'm not excessively close with it either.

I sometimes do go out of my way to rep a particular person, especially new people.

It is not. Rep seems to be carelessly flung about here in places where it shouldn't be carelessly flung about.

Swing the Reputation sticks in the Addon Releases section, or Support, or Suggestions, and not at those who ask for rep.
