0.625m LES

Since 23.5 we've had the 1.25m LES which has been great but we also need one for the Mk1 Command Pod as the current one is to big and custom ones have a lot of parts.

You can easely make one with just 2 seperatrons though

yeah, just strap 2 sepatrons on the side of the pod. They also double as emergency reentry rockets, to be fired if you have not enough delta-v to make your periapsis low as required.

Yes but some people like proper LES's like the early nasa ones.

I think that the Mk1 pod needs an LES because 1. It looks cool and 2. the bigger pod has one as well.

I agree, as long as they are both easily jettisonable via the staging tree

I'd not be opposed to a proper 0.625m LESe, only I'd like to see much better part connectivity for the LES systems in KSP in general... inline parachutes that aren't just radials clipped under things, anybody?

That was the rocket they used to do test launches for the Mercury LES
