I missed the 'add note' part in PayPal this morning but wanted to say that your contract packs in my last play-through of KSP were the most fun I've had since I started playing (dare I admit >10k hours?). I also had Station Science and USI-LS mods installed and flying massive and busy tourism/science missions out to Jool was a great challenge. Thanks! I have just completed Tito's contract, but I have failed it, due to him being 'killed'. I am slightly peeved about the game concluding this, as I recovered him fairly and squarely. However, the manner of recovery was... non standard. Specifically, that I used StageRecovery. We slapped a pair of parachutes on the passenger fuselage, and a heat shield, and just ejected them off the end of the rocket. StageRecovery brought Bill and Tito back just fine - both were mentioned on the SR popup, and Bill is back in the Astronaut Complex. Tito is nowhere to be found, and I have the perks of having failed the contract. Question one, is how do I edit my save file to show that I completed the contract rather than failed it? Question two, is whether this interaction between CC and SR is something that should be fixed by Squad, something that should be fixed by SR, or something that should be fixed by CC? Thanks for the help. EDIT: Question one is low priority, have just made some changes to my persistence file and will be testing them shortly... fingers crossed! Guess I will have to make a point of recovering Tourists 'normally' rather than with StageRecovery. Edit2: question one is mebbe medium priority for me... Im not sure where to add TouristCount and TouristLowOrbitCount? Other than that, I think I fixed everything else associated with the contract. Edit3: If I have this right, I add those keys into the DATA section of the PersistentDataStore SCENARIO... but I suspect I have to add them underneath a node. Which I dont know the name of. Edit4: I feel like this would be easier if I knew how to code. Would this be easier if I knew C#? Edit5: well, it no longer throws an argument out of bounds exception when I load it, so thats good. I think I fixed it? Fingers crossed. I feel like the more important thing for the thread at least, is seeing what could be done to make these mods interface better, rather than details of how to fix the save file when the current behavior happens due to user error. nightingale Posted December 5, 2015 Author Share Posted December 5, 2015 I'll need to look into the StageRecovery compatibility, likely they need to be firing off a specific event that they are not firing. Raised [#384] to track. As far as the other stuff goes, you are far, FAR better off just completing the contract manually through the debug menu. Accept the contract again (it should show up again even though you've failed it), and then go to the alt-f12 debug, and find the contract on the contracts tab. There should be a button that says "complete" or something like that, which you can press to complete it. That will trigger everything you need to progress to the other tourism contracts. As it stands I did manage to get other tourism contracts so Im pretty sure I did it correctly. I added the tourist count and low orbit count key/value pairs into a second DATA section in the data store, and it seems to have worked. I did look for the debug menu but couldnt see a button for it, and did not recall it was a key combo to display. My bad. Cheers for the tip for next time! The casino/hotel have requirements for various types of parts (antennas, lights) and crew capacity, but you can use whatever parts you want (stock or mods) to meet the requirements. (I switched to the investor kerbal, walked her the last few steps and got in). Now that she is in the taxi the contract screen (the built-in one as well as CapCom) don't have the "Crew: Beagrid Kerman: On Board" ticked. So I thought "maybe it has to be an EVA?". Whe she gets out of the vehicle it says that the "Crew..." condition is met. So I walked her to her first stop (the Space Plane Hangar) but it does not tricker the wayoint. cordilon Posted December 20, 2015 Share Posted December 20, 2015 Hey folks, I still get the failing asteroid contract issue as described by qm3ster some pages ago. First I thought it was related to mod compatibility, but trying a clean install with only ContractConfigurator (1.9.1), TourismPlus (1.3.0) and HyperEdit installed showed the same result: Contract fails instantly after switching to Tracking Station or launching a vessel. My KSP version is 1.0.5 32bit and I tested the issue on a new profile which I stuffed full of money via savefile edit and unlocked all buildings and tech tree afterwards. Letting an asteroid first enter Kerbin SOI and then accepting the contract didn't help either. If you build the casino it's meant to be a money maker - so you can get a lot of funds from bringing tourists there (something like 10 times the value of a stock tourist). Because I activated the contract thinking that the tourists (well, it's a tour, so....) would show up in the crew roster rather than spawned at KSC. Then, thinking that they would stay where they are (I didn't heed the warning that there was, in a way, limited time), I timewarped or something and they disappeared. smjjames Posted December 25, 2015 Share Posted December 25, 2015 I forget what I did exactly, but basically I went to them as an active 'vessel', then decided to just leave them for later and continued whatever I was doing. I've hit the disappearing kerbal thing before (a long while ago), sometimes if you leave a Kerbal EVA on KSC, theres a chance they might disappear. But I also ran into problems with getting the investor to be recognized as part of the crew. Dropped in here and saw the development DLL, so I saved and exited KSP - put the DLL in place and restarted the game. It would now recognize the investor as crew, but I never got the waypoints and driving to the specified locations didn't work either. So I went back to the Space Center and blammo -- the investor and my pilot both disappeared from my tour car I ended up using Alt-F12 to complete the contract, but I wasn't offered any construction contracts. I went ahead and deleted the completed contract out of my persistent save in hopes of being offered the contract again in the future.
