  1. 1. Which of the below do you use RCS for?

Recommended Posts

1) Docking

2) fine-tuning interplanetary trajectories from far out

3) Retro burn (usually when I run out of other fuel)

4) Final rendezvous maneuvers near other manned ships so that I don't have to use nuclear engines there and irradiate kerbals

5) Rendezvous requiring small orbit changes

6) Helping orient rockets (not so much since we got proper reaction wheels)

7) Pushing my rovers around (not since we got proper rover wheels)

My Horrible Nerf makes it competitive with reaction wheels for attitude control (especially on shorter missions), as I've greatly reduced the part costs for RCS bits and tanks (but not fuel) and increased part costs for the reaction bits (and taken 'em out of command pods entirely) and beaten 'em with the 90% nerf bat.

So I'm very frequently using it for attitude control, docking, and small craft in low-grav situations.
